  1. As Regen has been brought up I think I am right in saying that +HP is +Regen so instead of going for +Regen when you could of gone for +HP I'd of got the +HP and killed 2 birds with one stone so to speak. The very first power skips the opportunity for +hp for +regen in the very first build. Infini's take has put this right but not in weave if what I am saying is true. I myself do this type of character Ice/Ice/Arctic but with a lot more Fire Def. I kind of skipped some of the possible +rechg available that would of been excess to my practical needs but still remained perma hoarfrosted.
  2. 11.7 billion..Greater cost indeed doesn't necessarily mean a greater build.

  4. Rebirth is stretching it a bit. I consider Aid Other as stretching things but it could lend to me being able to say yes when people ask "R U Healer?"

That said, a Dark still has to *hit* to "heal," and that's the only thing they have to "heal" WITH. An Empath, by comparison, has numerous means of hit point replacement (though I'd generally suggest to one NOT to use share pain, thanks to the whole "Now *I* can't heal" bit.) Heal for less, sure, but that's because short of dying just as the heal goes off, it's a guaranteed heal.

Besides, with all the good Dark/ does, it's ridiculous to tell someone not to do everything ELSE.
Urm Yes, if you can heal, to many people you are a healer. You can fight it all you want with something like "just because I have passed a first aid course it didn't make me the best person to resuscitate that dying man over there". If a leader was expecting a Dark to heal without affecting an enemy then yes they are ridiculous.

This is not the same for an Empathy Defender who can heal allies without ever attacking a single enemy.

It's a catch 22 so to speak. Your only heal power on a Dark requires an enemy to use it but your team orders you not to attack. You can't heal without attacking so they get mad at you for not healing. You try to start healing but then they just get mad at you for attacking again. And trying to explain this to anyone that doesn't understand how Twilight Grasp works in nearly impossible.
Lets say I am playing my Dark Defender and someone says not to attack just heal. I would then assume by that they mean't blasts, I'd have to ask myself am I letting my attack chain get in the way of twilight grasp. I have never had this issue, on a team whereby someone asks me to do no more than heal, I guess I am on the right server.

So yes, any dimbrick that sees the blue shield and automatically assumes "h3410rz!!!" is exactly that... a moron.
My point was that anyone that can heal can be viewed as a healer. Surprised you didn't get that.

  10. I looked at it and did this:

  11. I look at Stamina and see that you've 6 slotted it giving it more accuracy and more recharge - ofcourse you didn't you've gone for the aoe def bonus. This is something I wouldn't do though. I would try to slot the power for no more than I would with normal IOs and try to achieve the def you want some other way. Combat Jump same thing, it really doesn't need an end discount as it costs next to nothing or more recharge. Again the def would have to be gained some other way.

Blazing Aura is great DPE on 10 mobs, I'd slot for that. Dark Blast is pretty good DPA is it worth slotting for that? One way or another I'd want to do more.

Question are you overly worrying about ranged? Or about AoE? AoEs tend to be the lightest and least reoccuring. If I had something like 45% melee, 30% ranged and 15% aoe def and powers that weren't overly slotted in buffs they don't need I'd be happy. See what ya can do. I myself look at a build for months if not weeks before going for it...or in the case of one corrupter, years XD.
  12. I think ya overloaded assault with too many slots and on top of that it wouldn't surprise me if Build Up did more for the build than Physical Perfection.
  13. So there is one, usually it's me who is not too happy about a power changing on me. In this case Disorient and Energy attacks go together just as easily as KB and energy. My being MA, the disorient for my stalker is a bit easier to abide. Reading about how you would use it, it's the same for me but its still not really something for the average team though.
  14. If a Trick Archer says that their not a healer then I have to go with that logic, but for a Dark defender then I'd have to check as to whether or not they had Twilight Grasp. With Twilight Grasp they're as much a healer as an Empath. Now I don't think that Twilight Grasp is the best power and should need to be spammed but I still feel that there is a time and a place to use it.

Now when it comes to the trial on your Traps it sounds like ya found some tool for a league leader.
  15. Just been playing my MA/EA and using repulse whilst at it. The changes look alright to me. I'm guessing with Repulse this was definitely one of them often skipped or hard to value powers.
  16. Whenever I look at a build I like to see what it potentially can and can't bring to a team. My Peacebringer is almost pure but for haste and able to do all of the jobs I can expect from a pure build but not necessarily for a prolonged amount of time, what some people do is single out certain areas and improve on them areas which is what I see this build of yours as doing. There is not really much of a right or wrong imo. How you are slotting and is it worth slotting is what counts.

Your build has possibly for you more self preservation in mind but it also has defender potential and I am not talking about glowing touch. For tanking its not so hot to me, its for self preservation but atleast you can still pick out a niche. From a teamers perspective you've brought something. You've built unlike I or anyone might expect which might be why there has been a lack of help but it still has its perks. It could be that people think its fine.

Are your intentions as plain and simple as you've already said or is there more? From a team mates perspective I see goodies but you might not even know they're there.

Your ability to +dam, help ghost, -res, -fly, -def is all good. The things like grant invis at 24 is for a particular reason?

Its odd but odd is not always wrong. I will say from my angle that your human form melee attacks lack some acc. Radiant strike wouldn't be as accurate as you can afford to make it so it would be not as accurate as I would have it. Secondly if you are going to do what's done with glowing touch I would of had conserve energy instead. It's better to break into dwarf and taunt than to heal someone and then perhaps find the hps lacking. An extra slot in Light form could be nicer so its up more often, where from though, I'd prefer two in conserve if I was to change from Glowing Touch to it so would pull a dam proc from a Single Target attack somewhere. I tend to resist the dam procs in ST as it is unless I am completing a set as it does to my mind, over time, equate to a basic IO.
  17. Has ATG finished? I think that maybe a more revised build is not a bad idea taking in further advice and also even then additional slots can be achieved from further changes. I looked at the latest it revision and thought atleast 3 slots could be plucked out of nowhere so to speak and added elsewhere.
  18. Flipping heck, old name from the tanky section, about as old as it gets. WB.

Edit: Inv/SS iirc if ya need any help updating, the tank section is pretty pleasant, sweet bunch.
  19. I couldn't give a damn what's in team.
  20. I currently fire farm with a lvl 34 tanker and even she does alright. I go in with lots of rages and keep making them, whilst playing her I am playing tetris with my insp tray.
  21. It's quite simple, being in Granite all of the time is unnecessary. When unnecessary your dps is less than it could be, therefore then your xp/time or TF speed maybe less than it could be. Knowing when to be in and out of Granite is not always obvious. If your concept is granite only and you like to take a lot of pools or certain incarnate abilities to make up the difference then so be it. I tend to like to exemp comfortably on all my Tankers.

Nothing wrong with not capping. It's not a crime to sit at 89.6% res and put the slot elsewhere.

I emailed Lionsbane on taking the best bits from peoples suggestions to mix up a new build. Prolly went to the wrong address XD.

  24. New Dawn

    Why no /sonic?

Sonic Repulsion might get more use on a MM. I'd use it. My corrupter had a pet once. I stuck it on a pet and found it pretty sweet for damage mitigation standing next to the pet. A few of what I would call the most challenging NPCs to fight are sometimes not so hard because they're easily knocked about.
  25. SR's resistance goes up the less hp you've got so really as I find it to be, I might go down to low hp but it's not something to always panic about. I'd me more worried about Regen on Brutes. Whilst it would of been lush to have Broadsword for tankers, Parry might disappear.
