This is how threads like these should evolve imo. Peoples ideas, eventually thrown together and then the OP takes what is there and comes up with something suitable to themselves.

Thank you on behalf of all of us for returning to the thread, often ya can post a build and never know if the OP has so much as looked at it. This is the key reason why I for one don't spend more than a few mins on a build. Some people might spend ages and never know if the build has even been considered and consideration is all anyone can ask.
  2. I also just realised that I replied at 3:39 and you updated your build later, I did feel I was looking at a different build when answering what you said. I will say I find nothing dishonest but it left me confused abit.
  3. 1) Well, I agree with some of it, but not all of it. My positional defs are higher without Maneuvers than yours are with.

Yes, I tend to soft cap at about 45% not quibbling about minor percentages in order to try and gain more elsewhere in the build. Sometimes one might sacrifice alot of something else for some small percentage of defense that I know from playing pre IO sets can be easily lived without.

    2) My Res are all higher.

Same as number 2, 1% res is worth 1/2% def.

    3) My Regen is slightly higher, as is my max HP.

Your regen is up by 1.5hp/sec but this is small however there is a decrease in hp by 35 hitpoints lets see where this is going further.

    4) My recovery is higher without Maneuvers running (as I plan on it being situational).

So this for fighting higher levels and/or accommodating -def? I didn't consider situational as I take things I use all the time. Conserve is quicker.

    5) You're getting a slightly higher global recharge and a moderately better global acc bonus.

Sometimes the time and the place comes for a power and its not good if its not there. The only thing thats dramatically dropped is conserve energy but a recharge has most to do with that. So its not that dramatic, not a necessity.

    6) What is a good Stone attack chain? I don't really pay attention or aim for the best, but at least it'd be nice to know.

Depends on how much you can give yourself without sacrificing too much of the utility of your build.

People can pattern it to a fight cycle, average fight duration is say 20s, time to get to and herd next mob 5 secs, meaning that their end rec vs end use is balanced over 25s.

With Tankers you focus on Aggro control, of say the aggro cap and it pays to finish the fight as soon as possible. Your cone attacks hit upto 5 and your aoes hit upto 10, so the damage per endurance of each attack when an aoe is multiplied by the maximum number of targets the attack can hit. The more AoE you do, the less single target attacks you have to use, A cone attack need only hit a minimum of two targets to do the same amount of damage per end point as a single target attack, when it hits 5 its done 2.5 times the damage per end as a single target attack, therefore potentially saving you the use of an attack. AoEs hit 10, min req to equal a single target attack is 4 therefore saving the use of single target attacks again. The saved use is saved time, the repetitive use of AoEs save time. I don't say this thinking you don't already know I am just explaining myself. With Tankers though you do on occasion run into AVs and a single target attack chain can be important to, alot more in some cases to maintaining threat, sometimes you might want to kill an AV before they kill you, which is better? Sustainable DPS or Burst? I prefer sustainable. Nothing worse than running out of end and having some NPC/AV end drain ya last bit bit, detoggle you and lights out.

So look at your attack chain, work out how much end you use over it, add that to your toggles (now I know manuevers is optional played on you) and then compare that to your end rec. A lot of people get other people to be tools for the job. Like getting someone who gives +end in order to fight Neuron, I like to not give a toot and have builds that I feel don't make me give a toot. Extra def on Itrials can come from any of the masses of people or failing that and looking at my combat attributes I can pop insps.

    7) Attacks-wise, your build generally has higher acc while mine has higher damage. Rech and end costs are comparable between the two
    .

What I first noticed was Stone Fist and how underslotted it was. This attack provides -res which would help a team take an AV down faster. -Fight duration is good for you and anyone else. I always slot this attack. I like to see all attacks taken and used slotted well. My belief is why hit them twice when you could of hit them once? But looking at it again you could decide on whether you prefered Seismic Smash slotted with ToDs or Stonefist. What is different I think is Shield Charge. I didn't really play around with your attacks as they seemed fine but the Shield Charge in mine I thought was better over time.

8)I still favor mine, but I did take a couple ideas from yours (moving the LoTG +rech from GC to BA for the +acc bonus and using Stupefy for Fault because I had no idea what to slot in it). And as for exemping down, well... I kinda forgot to include that I don't do that.

I am here to offer an alternative idea, there is the playstyle and the philosophy side to us all that you can't read in a build so this is not seen as a competition but merely there for suggestions. When I spend 5 mins I spend 5 mins. I ultimately think that people can take bits and pieces or nothing or all of it, either way it is still playable. There are some factors like cost. I sometimes change things to lower the cost. Am like "I ain't paying for that". You do have other bonuses in my build but with conserve energy being of faster rechg then you'd have to work out the endurance factor. Edit: Most of it was still yours to favour.

Truth be told I should of gave it 10 mins not 5 XD

Edit 2: Also I play on Justice and Defiant too, wonder if we already know eachother XD

I did an alternative build that I thought up taking your power choices into priority. You might consider parts of it, or all of it, it's upto you:

  5. I spent 5 mins coming up with an alternative, use mids to compare it on every factor that is important to you. I think I made it better if I was to play it given your power choices plus for exemp purposes. Compare it on Def, Res, HP, Regen, End rec, end drain and look at your attacks how they knit together for a solid attack chain. Your first attack is something that applies -res so it is something to always, imo, to slot well.

    Trials too easy?

The trials are about right, the next few raids created might want to be something where people 50+++ with pets are taken into account. However the time for when they arrive may depend on how much of the populace is 50+++ with pets.

I don't believe any build does that. My Ice/Ice spent ages on a red boss, Heracles for the wedding band but atleast I knew there was no chance Heracles was gonna get the drop on her, no lengthy runs back from a hosp.

    fire/stone help

I took what everyone has done and combined it into something I would be more comfortable playing, the power order is better except that the taunt that mysteriously got chosen by the OP because LSK deemed it so is a bit late in the build. I think if you are a team mate flexible tank then taunt is worth taking:

  10. There is or was a very good guide for D/D defenders, with corrupters I would of flipped things on its head some and weighed on the offense a bit more. It might be nice to see what someone can come up with, sometimes somethings are surprisingly discovered in the process of doing one.

Ramses I couldn't play your tanker. I would suggest you pay more attention to how much resistance the next resistance IO is adding than the next bonus. Put them bonuses to second place as you build. The chance for damage in Boxing is basically more expensive but of no greater bang for buck than if a basic Damage IO was there. Concentrate on what the power is for, buff that side of things, perhaps lower the end costs, think of the rechg and then worry about bonuses. I know you have to do both at the same time but it looks to me like more attention is paid to what the bonuses are doing. Your slotting in fire shield would be better in temp prot, the slotting in temp prot would be better in tough, the slotting in tough would be better in fire shield..it goes on and on. I would start again. I'd advise on concentrating on getting your def to S/L to 45% then try for what extras you find yourself able to achieve.
  14. New Dawn

    Ice/fire tank

Here is the pattern I have been seeing with your builds:

    Energy Absorption -- P'Shift-EndMod/Acc/Rchg(A), P'Shift-EndMod/Acc(34), P'Shift-EndMod/Rchg(36), P'Shift-Acc/Rchg(36)

In this you have an end mod/acc, there is a simple end mod to consider but you've got an end mod/acc. In more than one place across builds I see this sort of thing, there is set to go for but what you've picked from the set isn't necessarily the best option. It's my opinion, it maybe unfair and it maybe possibly of late that its been happening. I may do things that people see as consistantly wrong, it doesn't hurt to point them out, it usually takes somebody else to start to see a "potential" pattern anyway.

I did look for a build on Ice/Fire from someone who plays one but these forums must ditch old matter pretty quick I think, either that or my search fu is poor between 5 and 6 in the morning as it is here. So failing that I did an alternative build with the exact same power picks just to throw in something else to look at.

Oh what I will say is that, 2 absolute amazements for a piddly bonus in boxing didn't seem worth it, it lacked bang for buckness. I'd rather IO set another entire build with the cost of them.

Edit: This I thought odd too, Hibernate doesn't need recharge or acc or anything so I felt some of this slotting would be better served in Stamina:

    Level 49: Hibernate -- P'Shift-EndMod(A), P'Shift-EndMod/Rchg(50), P'Shift-EndMod/Acc/Rchg(50), P'Shift-Acc/Rchg(50)
  15. 4th slot of haste to tremor for better use of it.
  16. Remarking on a small part of your slotting doesn't really enable people to help you with your build. Whether sets are good or not depends on how else you've slotted but I am going with saying that a couple of Titanium Coatings isn't the best choice. If I were to only have 2 slots of that set I'd go with basic IOs to save dosh.
  17. There is barely anything in between them.

1 VEATS, Scrappers, Masterminds, Brutes, Tankers.
    2 Corrupters, Defenders, Controllers, Dominators.
    3 Stalkers, Blasters, Khelds.
  18. I think it better to discuss PBs and reevaluate them once the next issue hits. I don't so much as find group fly out of place on PBs. I can blatantly see why that's there. I think the changes to come are a plus so to me its better to see those changes live before getting deeper into things.
  19. I skimmed the thread so I may be repeating someone else but often with MMs alot of people take provoke from the power pool. Increasing pet survivability.
  20. Do you team with this build? I don't know why you don't go 45% S/L and then put more slots/power choices into end drain and aggro management.

Most attacks will be say S/L but many are F/L or E/S meaning that with any of these attacks because they are part Lethal or part Smash you can have def to them.

With that def you should also be able to end drain, removing most of the mobs endurance whilst they remove their own from missing you mostly and as they do you would remove their end recovery so they can't restore endurance. At 0 end they will only muster enough endurance to hit you with their lightest attacks if they live that long.

Then when it comes to AVs Taunt the power is the best bet for ultimate flexibility so that you not only tank them on your terms but they don't turn around for someone more threatening and use a cone attack towards the team.

S/L at 45% is a lot easier. It could be an AoE, ranged or a melee attack that has either one of them components which is most attacks that npcs try to hit you with.

When I read your response New Dawn, it came across like you were talking S/L Defense the first couple of times.
How it comes across to you is entirely down to you. I expect you won't make the same mistakes again.
  22. If you want one, make one. Your subs.
  23. I didn't check your build with BU in to see the 42s with a duration of 10s. I did some maths, rough maths. BU still has the edge over PP to me but again glass half full philosophy. As you are constantly teamed, you would have over 200% acc in your lowest attack even if you had tactics I am slighly edging towards Tactics too. The choice is yours, people such as I try to help in order to try to learn.

Sorry, not trying to troll or rain on anyone's seafood parade. It's just how I'm interpreting this. Correct me if I'm missing something - please. On the other hand, if they make major changes to my glorious purple Warsquid o' Doom, I'm going to set fire to my own head. Devs - don't make me!
Lets imagine 3 Kheldians go into RV, they had to defeat Mako and Ghost Widow without getting defeated, which form could they all use most safely?

If they had to do Mako, Ghost Widow and Scirroco then I'll expect that to be a bit too much to expect no defeats.
  25. "Foc Acc offers you personally more tohit, res to per debuff and tohit debuff. Just a mention incase you didnt consider Tactics."

I would like to add that the res to Per Debuff, which both Tactics and FA carry, is superfluous on DA since Cloak of Darkness has +PER and RES to -PER.

Yeah I was just saying you would have more of it. If you PvP then you might find Stalkers get their stealth rating higher than just being with hide. Whether or not you PvP I don't know, I don't PvP so getting x amount of whatevers is not something I need to do.

You're right on the DPE front, but bear in mind that Buildup is down for 32 seconds at a whack with my levels of recharge, assuming two recharge IOs. I generally put in ToHit/Rech and Rech IOs of Adjusted Targeting, so 35s downtime if that was the choice. If I use two RR, then it's down for over 50 seconds. Heh, the 1.6hps regen is pretty wasted though, I must admit.

I would of just stuck in 2 rechgs, rather than sets you don't need to have. Then rather than look at the recharge time as downtime, take the duration of build up away from the recharge time. 2/3rds of the time you could have a damage boost. Now cones hit 5 and AoEs hit 10 and so that build up on an attack is multiplied with all the targets it hits. This then can save you say if you were solo the use of more attacks as in to clean up, save on endurance and if you do the maths might be worth more than PP. I am inclined to say that I would most definitely prefer BU over PP. I am not sure what you meant by using 2 RR could you clarify please. Edit: Rectified Recticle you mean. I would just go with simple rechgs.

Better call the Mods the chat is getting colourful.
