  1. vitriolic? i was far from being vitriolic i was excited that i could correct the information and not expressing fierce hate or anger through severe criticism. You misintepreted my meaning now dont do it again!!

not all powers are for everyone, rage is a risky drug and so is unstoppable but i have done more good with them than bad but i will still far from recommend them. what may often work for me may not work well for other people.
  2. follow up is a twisted and evil thing i think it adds roughly 1/6th in damage so one of my attacks goes from a 300 hit to 350 no big deal for me given the action time to use it as well as having to move closer to the enemy. u may of got 2 ranged attacks in there instead however still useful in the lower levels. being able to get build up would be so much better imo.
  3. the guide filth has come up with and attached is bang on! and cool advice too!
  4. wow ask a bunch of controllers about any pointless powers they have had and learn about travel powers , haste and ss is def ftw mind/empath controller imo
  5. it depends i like hasten when i have a power that recharges over a certain period of time, basically any power that seemably recharges too long. for my tank its unstoppable and conserve energy i have 6 slotted hasten still because the last 3 slots gain me a whole minute on my 1000 second recharge, also i love hasten as it is 3 recharge on my blaster cos it means i can add lay as many mines as i can when i need too
  6. when i play my corrupter in a team with a mastermind and a brute i get aggro so im not really seeing the roles blur considerably unless u r comparing to a tanker without taunt
  7. there is a cost when it drops u only have to stand still and test it 4 yourself - YEP JUST TESTED IT! - when rage wore of my stamina dropped 30 points the end redux doesnt help this like i said it just helps the cost when u activate it

gauntlet helps in a way but even if i try to fulfill my role not many baddies attack me most of them think its fun to pick on squishys . I say bugger taunt its almost rendered obsolete we as tanks still need to stick to what we do best and ignore any nerfing

    [/ QUOTE ]

You obviously not insulting the enemy enough. Seriously though I haven't had this problem. Everyone loves beating Maxy up. If you are having problems controlling aggro its probably down to either 2 things. You are not taunting the enemy or you team mates are targeting the wrong ppl, maybe another mob or something.

Tell you team mates to go for a particular enemy e.g. boss and make sure you taunting him and starting hitting other enemies or get team mates to target the enemies through nominated person (doesn't have to be you). That should allow you to control the aggro abit better.

P.S. By the way, you say baddies pick on the squishies. Had a particular squishy decided to fire off a Nova by any chance and then find themselves surprised they are number one target?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    i totally second this
  9. in light of looking at other builds i have modified mine to this the end cost on practice brawler is twice as much as some of my attacks almost so ill keep it and i like to fight with superspeed on so ill keep that too "for now" i still would like to know if slotting the passives 3 slots is actually worth it as they offer very little compared to adding an extra one to my toggles will they add resistance as my health drops i dont know and doubt

sadly unless i get a free respec for christmas i wont be able to implement it but i can change whats currently in my slots for now
  10. i used to have tough and its only good against 2 types of attacks so completely pointless when u r hit by energy etc what sr build is lacking compared to other scrappers is the ability to put health back with aid self u can do that and no matter what the type of attack u can give urself 40% however if u always have a good healer then dont bother, i am a hit and runner as i could be dead by the time a healer gets to heal me so it is a question of playstyle
  11. so no one think 3 slotting my passives is a bad idea? or 5 slotting hasten? or leaving out follow up and going for focussed accuracy?
  12. empath defenders r healing less but more often now and the heal/time factor may well of increased so the same thing should occur with blasters doing damage
  13. i have had taunt from lvl 12 its great to use when a foe in pve is about to knock off a team mate as for the self heal business my playstyle needs it when i solo saves on downtime, i remember getting follow up about the lvl i have used it in my list purely because i seem to remember hating it horribly when i missed but yeah focus could go there

i'm not totally sure if i have overdone the slots anywhere (well maybe dodge and agile) but this is a build that suits my playstyle well, but however i am always open to advice on slotting and with my scrapper being my worst character i definately need advice here and there from more experienced players.
  15. ED has affected every AT the same so how is it so bad. if anything its evened up the stakes in pvp imo and just made levelling a a bit slower, debt has been cut which is an absolute bonus for all those blasters i have seen with 6 debt badges at lvl 42 not to mention counterbalances the levelling slower somewhat.

    ignite rules IMHO
slap a hold /immob on hit ignite move onto the next , its also extremely good for door ways / corridors combine it with caltrops as well very effective
its a very tactical skill and IMHO one of the defining powers in the AR set .

good thing about it to , u dont need to target a mob to use it.

my blaster and my corrupter both uses this skill all the time and find it valuable in every fight

    [/ QUOTE ]

ill try that and see if i can give it any love

i dont disagree i think its good advice to start with and anyone can tweak with it as they see fit
  18. i made a sonic attack / sonic resonance corrupter just nerf tankers some more

to avoid bein instantly squished now taunt is a must have, hell to me it was a must have before so now its a must must have and if u tank so that u r the only one in the line of fire then a healer only has u to worried about which is a good thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm, not sure I totally agree with that (although I'm just assuming you are talking about the early levels?). Playing an empath has given me a much better understanding of what I put healers through when I play my other alts. I would agree that having one healing target is good, however tanks in the early levels can't hold agro and can't take huge amounts of damage anyway. I much prefer Fort'ing the tank and knowing he is fairly safe for a while as it leaves me free to focus on the real squishies (where one hit sends them into the red). If the tank goes in first, gauntlet will ensure they have all the aggro they can cope with without having to use taunt. I built an empath purely for healing and if the damage comes in too fast I still can't cope. I'm not sure how those healers that take a lot of their secondary would cope with a tank that had all the aggro on him...?

As for soloing with a tank, I never could (or at least it was too dull). If you build a scranker, they aren't good on a team but if you build a team tank, they can't really solo. Fire tanks were one of the few exceptions to that, not sure they still are? If you want to solo, a tank is really not the way to go. Well, that's just my opinion anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

if a tank goes in first with 2 groups close to eachother u r most likely to get both groups and anarchy in which case id wanna controller, taunt can be used to split groups and i am talking at any level from whenever u can get taunt, i got it after i got mezz protection and a snipers pull was ok upto lvl 16, but anyway i have a 50 empath too and with the experience of being a tanker prehand helped me know certain things most empaths need to be told so yep with those tankers tanking so that they were the only ones getting hit my job was the easiest in the world had to go do hamidon for debt badges
  20. to avoid bein instantly squished now taunt is a must have, hell to me it was a must have before so now its a must must have and if u tank so that u r the only one in the line of fire then a healer only has u to worried about which is a good thing.

note i know a blaster pull and tanker intercept may help around not having taunt but getting 5 pps of a blaster in a duo without taunt is just dangerous
  21. i started this post in the blaster section but i have 1 of each AT anyway and thought it may be useful to ask the question here b4 i pick a bleep power for my controller.

anyway has anyone picked a power that seems to offer no edge at all when u have most of the other powerset powers?
  22. i was just wondering if u guys have tried powers in your primaries or secondaries and are left wondering what point do they serve.

i found this with ignite in assault rifle pool. with all my attacks and flamethrower, i was wondering why i would ever want ignite. without ignite lasting twice its current duration i cant see how it adds any edge
  23. i have a problem with flurry and thats its action time and low level of damage id of chose hasten just to get other attacks out quicker (hasten as a clickie now not auto'd i like my practised brawler auto'd), its a good build though as for build up u can survive without unless u r gonna end up sayin to urself "if i had done more damage i would of survived" alot. pick ur powers to suit ur needs as u lvl up just know how to slot it

My personal idea of a supergroup (not necessarily what anyone else would expect but this is my idea)

75 ppl, they may split up into teams that are close knit but u have more chance of getting into a good team providing u havent had an sg leader that invited lvl 1's at atlas that walked by one fine day.

different kinds of people within the sg -

ppl who like to just have fun r good for team forming.

ppl who like badges these tend to be most reliable for tfs.

ppl who just like good xp, may be great company for badge lovers and dont mind just doin the badge lovers chosen arcs and missions unskin for bonus is a boost.

some may want atlas badge at lvl 7 to represent the sg in pvp in future and stand a chance at getting all accolades at earliest point to help with this with more ppl in an sg.

the more people the easier and quicker a base is made, after lvl 35 u can have a good base and afford to have good slots on your toon not sacrifice one for the other.

id like to c organised tfs that dont conflict with anything else organised ie i dont want to choose between a tf on coh and a tf on cov. i wanna do both!

organised badge hunts for achievements. help 7 other ppl get them while u r at it.

badge missions saved and offered for any1 who has missed them and would like to get them.

no babysitting! pl is an ok rare treat imo but some ppl seem to think they can get it all the time and have 10 lvls of their toon earnt by someone else. i must of done 30 drecks to gain influence for my other toons, for possible prestige exchange and to help out lower level people on their first toon with influence. those that sat in were mostly from other sgs i dont care how good they wont be at 50! dreck was not for fun or to win hearts of strangers.

what i know alot of sgs r:

lvl 50 morgues where half the toons dont get played
made so that once the sg ldr has hit 50 he/she has a whole world of ppl to pl the rest of his/her alts
or have ppl who think the sg ldr is there to do "everything" for them (there isnt a non soloable toon in the game and forming a team isnt hard)

i like to c ppl have somit to offer other ppl and not b totally out for themselves and an sg that can offer all kinds of ppl everything (over a space of time obviously).

have u seen the sg list, its long i wouldnt worry. sure u get ur 20 man ones and u also get ur 2 man ones. whatever people prefer, and all i am saying thats those who would prefer a 75 man sg may have more incentive for their personal reasons to make it happen.
