  1. I dont kite for me! i kite because i like to keep the team alive as much as possible (what a tankers for) i may not kite though depending on the type of defender i have, but with empaths i will forever kite!

    Saying that is like saying you can stand there and take hits of mother mayhem all day, now i know stone tanks with granite are more resistant than all the others and minerals offers psi resistance but i think a somewhat unbalanced team of inexperienced people wont save you.

    My only theme is that a tanker requires a team to provide an adequate of team work when facing extremes.
  3. tp foe for controlled sapper extraction, can possibly avoid messes at times and ive used recall friend whilst tanking before.

    Any comments? Is this not better than anything you could come up with for PvP? This build is mainly for Warburg/level 50 action.

    Of course I'd never spec into this, I love Moment of Glory, Spine Burst and Tough too much.

    With team coordination, positioning and buffing i dont think there is any AV you cant do upto +2 AV for defender and tanker (+2 AV said to be safe in what i am saying). I have had a lvl 51 babbage tanked by a lvl 49 firetanker (no psi def or res and no extra hp boost) and had no deaths in the team. Most people i find though dont give a monkeys about strategy or if they die and do something i class as pointlessly stupid and mess things up. I myself as an invuln have done +2 psionic AVs many times and they only get me once only if i am on not so cooperative teams (but mostly they dont) or i didnt quite make the range i needed or it was way back when i lacked experience to even check the mob. If i get a "wow that is great tanking" its not my tanking its more to the fact i have a great team. Most important thing for a tanker to know is how to offer people safe positions to attack from, whether people use them though or allow you to acquire good herdpoints is another matter.

    I think maybe your talking in terms of +2+ AVs. Our team had our pre granite stone tanker mate doing +1 lvl AV's (set to even to mission owner (me) cos the tank was new to AV's) he was sk'd up and he done fine, its a team thing though. Saying that if its there, use it! its alot easier, i use elude on my sr simply cos its there.

    for low defense "squishie" hunting 1 acc , 3 dam, 2 rechg would be a general theme.

    i have used aid self with 1 intredux during DoT. It was slow ticks though so it depends on tick time, Fire attackers are main pain if they hit you generally if my hp drops a 1/3rd i aid self asap i dont wait for more hp to drop, to return hp there is no other choice other than aid self for an sr and i did put a "maybe" as it comes down to you playing. All enhancements can be changed to suit at anytime the good thing to have though is the slot available.

    It certainly does mate this is the one set i would be a bit tanker like in slotting up the first 2 tier powers asap to stand a chance in our current unscaleable defense game. When i was levelling up my scrapper from 25-35 the controller was the number 1 healer for the whole duration, great team though. In order to survive you really had to watch your position, stay out of cones, be ready for aoes, pbaoes (watch them warhulks healthbars and move before they explode type thing). My earliest debt badge was on my super reflex at lvl 27, all my other ATs got theirs alot later. Scrappers have no choice but to be in the thick of ranged, melee and aoes compared to all the other ATs except the tanker. This is why as a tanker i like the time to point the direction of cones away from the team and not fight an AV in melee range with only an empath type defender in team to make the AV use pbaoes less often. At about 36 it starts to bloom in pve but you still have to watch your position with certain things.
  8. I will say i came into the hive not knowing what the plan was but i have to say once it got started i liked it and i still havent read what the plan was, what i do is:

    "allow people to do things how they planned to and just listen to the organisers before any action"

    I wish more people do in the future and more successful raids are to be had! Well done Jiaozy and everyone for such a stirling job!

    I had a lil play, but not with order of power choice or power choices just slotting. Its suggestive! I do have a lvl 50 claws/sr and have walked over other sr's which tells me the dps of claws pvp isnt bad, its the life expectency of an sr against toons with aim and/or build up thats bad.

    Trouble is, unless you can be bothered to use it, it means nothing. Believing you can skim information and react appropriately can always be a mistake (proof reading isnt my strong point). It depends on the iq test as to what i get (116-133) but it means nothing just because i cant be bothered to channel it, i may look back on life and think 'damn i was dumb not to be bothered'.

  14. i got 1 in cloak and 2 in targetting drone (for exemping pre stamina) but i think targetting drone has the higher eps anyway. 1 acc in all attacks is still needed i think with targetting drone otherwise its those recharges making up for some missing and as a squishie blaster i sometimes cant afford to miss. I'd take the 2 def buffs off cloaking device as it keeps you from defiance and not by much neither add 2 end reds to targetting drone and change the remaining def buff in cloak to an end red.

    Would be proud owner of 3 Hami's but i gave mine away.

    Cant believe how relatively few deaths hami caused, anyone else notice that? healing around the other gm's got me after it was over.

  18. i currently have a trick archery/archery defender, a archery/devices blaster and a ninja/trick archery mastermind (having trouble finding any love for though atm).
  19. i cant be bothered with pugs alot of the time, if i was in a hurry to 50 i might consider it, but alot of the time its just slow levelling because of someone who wont listen and continuously likes to play in a way that suits them but makes things harder than they need to be. Is it me or has the standard of players dropped? I think with the debt being lowered to what it is means people see no reason to be proper teamplayers. When so and so has died its "who cares just mash". Perhaps so and so wont keep dying with players of better quality.
  20. 1 heal in absorb pain is a 90% hp heal, 2 heals is above 117% 3 heals is like 132% iirc, but you cant heal more than 100%. Change for 1 more recharge and a range perhaps.
    On taking out psi mastery i hope you have a respec left for when the lvl 50 pvp zone comes. In general i 3 acc all my aoe/cone control powers as missing tends no to be an option and i love it that way. 3 acc on total domination i think is a bit of a must.

    Exactly and everyone gets killed at some point. I like the fact that rise of the phoenix is a good way of keeping the herd herded despite having died and revive is a good way to get back in the action asap and help prevent other people from faceplanting.

    Assuming that should be 'target them', yeah, I have it occasionally on all my toons - I assumed it was because their stealth had been supressed and was reactivating, so I could for a second see them and not target them (and after that, not see them either). If that's not what you mean, then it's either Placate or I don't know.

  25. For me sleep, fear, confuse, hold, knockbacks, slow, repel, immobilise are control like powers

    -def, -res, -acc (well could give a controller that) -recovery, -end, -recharge are more defender like powers

    but there are shades of grey where they cross, i guess -spd, -recharge, -def, immobilise and hold could all tie in.

    but yeah i didnt realise earth and rad was so well suited!!
    Mines earth/storm cos i could synergise them better for the "how did those powers come together in one hero?" but i could of said the mums an earth controller and the dads a rad.
