From his post I kinda got the impression that the OP is looking for a "scranker" more than a tanker.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think your not alone there hence it had over 51 views before someone bothered with a reply. -
Stone tanks make the worst recovery tanks, but a team can play so that recoveries need never happen with a good stonetank which makes stonetanks just as adequate as anyother if only the team would play to suit the tank.

Can someone spell out the problem for me with the change because i just dont see one.
[/ QUOTE ]
auto turret has a long recharge and isn't great for damage, you can't move it in any way other then recal friend which makes it more useful as it's less of a one hit wonder. with this change once you've placed it, its stuck there.
[/ QUOTE ]
So its not simply res to tp foe, its no longer a pet?
It will make no difference to my /dev (i do have it but no recall friend) but i can understand peoples pain. -

Power orderwise i would be different perhaps due to different interests ie resilience later for stamina earlier but id literally have to remake your build and check it out (attack chain etc) to pick things out on.

There are no elite players!
Only people who are likeminded to eachother are people better to play with eachother and one may object to another unlikeminded persons style of play, sense of fun and attitude to the game and if that persons unpersuadable they can seek out people they would enjoy playing with.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but elitism is a quicker way of saying that
[/ QUOTE ]
lol haha ok thats my way of saying what all elitests are at the end of the day aside from telling themselves that they are better than everyone else. -
Im not too into brutes but my main reaction is how can you pass up on a mass immob from the patron pool with a power like burn?
-
[ QUOTE ]
You don't need 3 res in MoG, it caps with one.
[/ QUOTE ]
yep sorry my info is wrong or old as i have MoG at 40%
[ QUOTE ]
I think 3 recharge, 3 def would make more sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
well the people ive pvped against with my super reflex maybe slotted in an "out to get me manner" or just somehow my resistance sets do so much better but def is better pve. But thanks to Max id go 2 rechg 3 def 1 res when my regen gets MoG, she is hastened anyway. But my take is if people dont miss then ya may as well have res to buy time for a heal recharge etc. -

Icicles is there, at L30.
Personally though, I'd much prefer CE for herding, since it affects mobs instantly instead of being tick-based.
[/ QUOTE ]
i agree. On any icetank id be CE and Icicles asap in any Ice/ build. -
[ QUOTE ]
You do not want to slot slow in CE, it slows down herding.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if you use it for herding, but im not seeing icicles here which is something id want but still you could group with team standing over 40ft back (if your herdpoints offer that kind of range at least then its a good herdpoint as you dont wont to group herd your team for the enemies pbaoes, aoes and cones), then turn CE on, count to 2 and say ready to the team, that would work with that amount of slows. However its down to you how you want to play and other people if they want to play that way. I think along the lines of if a tank needs to play their toon a certain way to be effective then let them, if they are playing ineffectively and you dont like it then leave. id agree with unthing with dropping firebreath for icicles, firebreath and frost for cones are a bit meh whereas the damage auras are great dpe and dps in comparison so id of chosen icicles over it.
[ QUOTE ]
I would also consider Incinerate rather than GFS as IRC it is slightly better DPS and DPE.
[/ QUOTE ]
With the gulf between the dpe of the 2 i also think this is right. -

lol shannon i'm doing night at moment whilst trying to get my head round slotting my tank. The enhancements don't add up for lvl32...i took examples from other peoples builds to make this one so the amount of enhancements are there from final lvl50 build. The powers are ones i have so far not it real accurate order as i am not sat infront of my computer...this is the works one.
As for your comments...thank you...i am in perma granite...when my hasten eventually has 3 recharge in it
Are u saying that my attacks should be 3 damage 3 recharge?
[/ QUOTE ]
They could in fact be purely cos u slotted them that way but many people like myself prefer an acc at least because missing can be painful in many ways and if you find yourself requiring to produce more attack chains then also a end slot, i am inclined to 1 acc 1 end 2 dam 2 rechg and for example end isnt an issue in teams then slot for whatever is an issue. i must admit the build did look weird. Nice enough slotting, right powers but picked at the wrong time. Its upto 32 so i didnt say anything about the taunt not being able to hold attention of an AV too well later on without some additional duration slotting whilst your in granite. -
Welcome back! Hope ya get all ya stuff sorted soon and dont put this game before ya new job by playing for the hours your used to.

I am sorry to see ya go, I hope ya find what ya looking for.
I have experienced similar sentiments feeling that no one else has actually bought the game to play a hero. I am like this "when the SAS plan to do a job do they plan to do it in a way that gets all of their people in and out with all of the hostages saved or do they just charge on in "hello everyone here i am" doing a rambo being shot at from every direction in the hope that somehow they manage to dodge all the bullets and despite not knowing whats coming next brushing of a team mates defeat as something that had to of happened". In short i like to play with a certain way of thinking teamplayers and not show off one man armies who compromise the rest of the team and objective, and yes i might be in the wrong game as a defeat is not a death or looking for a different kind of game really. -
Even with the numbers for toggles for most armours in any powerset i wouldnt bother putting end recs in until the overall endurance cost of the attack chain is as low as i am willing to take it.

Are you sure you got the power order right?
You couldnt of started much that there is to tanking till 16 and even then you got held, immobilised, disorientated etc till lvl 20 as well unless you had an empath always with you who took clearmind from lvl 8 but still you got knocked about unable to stand still for debuffs or toffee within some groups till when finally you get rooted to make swift finally have a real point in being. After 20 your saying i can tank now and at 24 go for the idea of taunting more than 10 unless...
its a respec build right?
The slotting of earths embrace isnt bad if your perma granite or your healer is that good with something like absorb pain.
Well the build is untankerlike in its pre 20 levelling imo but now id suggest changing the secondary effect durations in the attacks to recharge now, the secondary effect duration wont be as of value as a recharge especially whilst in granite. In dps terms recharge is almost the same as a damage slot in some cases 3 recharge 3 damage is better damage over time than what (if ED hadnt happened) 6 damage slots would of been plus you gauntlet more but not if you miss so acc is handy and not if you run out of end so end slots in attacks is handy although more so if you had little resist to end drain. -
more than 3 slots of any SO enhancement type is a waste due to ED. If your on DO's then carry on.

Oh I agree, that's why my SR is a 50 and my regen a 19. But nonetheless, in the early days, Regen was way overpowered and SR way underpowered. Regen got nerfed, SR got buffed, they're about equal now
[/ QUOTE ]
i miss them days *sobs* i actually enjoyed my squishie sr! -
defbuff in hover is the last thing id have on a regen, it stacks with no defence and adds little extra defence, id even say "air superiority", dark consumption is a little under slotted for pvp purposes and for pve till stamina i reckon.
Weave would be too low a def buff to be really all that useful. Unless you can work your defence above a certain amount it holds little return for its slotting in comparison to what other power picks may do because of tohit calculations. Most people would have conserve energy where you'd have weave to make up for the lack of end conservation in the slotting of the primaries.
With MoG you can go 3 def 3 rechg or 3 rechg and 3 res (res maybe better pvp) and itll be good either way just you can use it more often but your slotting is assured god-mode. -
[ QUOTE ]
How should I slot my attack powers when I have targeting drone? And how should Targeting Drone be slotted?
[/ QUOTE ]
1 acc (for purples and pvp cos u have TD)
3 dam (as always)
1 end (additional attack chains to an endurance bar)
1 recharge (more so on heavy hitters, its where needed really to chain attacks otherwise if you can afford an end slot then you add attack chains to your end bar by additional end slots).
targetting drone i've done 2 end 3 tohit myself, its anything to stand still with other toggles if you have them and not see a gradual decline in endurance. -
[ QUOTE ]
nah, i aint silly enuf to stand attacking a tank when there are squishes to be killed
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah i was talking about duels that time whereas my idea of a good pvp tank from before could only be rated as good to me in team matches otherwise they are just scranking in pvp.
Bridger will probably tell me off for the short posts, (not as short as yours though globey and not as blatant on the board bumping:P) so im gonna stop posting now. -
[ QUOTE ]
claws..
[/ QUOTE ]
what about it? have you beaten a firetank with it? -
[ QUOTE ]
The only way I reckon a scrapper could possibly kill a fire tank is with tp foe/fear+caltrops. That given the tank didnt have tp or have bought the tp temp. And I mean possibly, I haven't tested yet so I don't know for sure
[/ QUOTE ]
Id have a hard time taking a firetank down with any scrapper and i mean proper hard so much so that with most firetanks i8 think itll be impossible. My claws/sr certainly couldnt do it, there isnt enough high burst damage between healing flames and the heals are of good recharge coupled with a firetanks resistance but i "hear" it has been done (not with claws) but for safeties sake from more backfire maybe them firetanks just havent been "good". My corrupter even though sonic/sonic would have no chance. -

[ QUOTE ]
Try a good spines/regen versus a good invuln/anything and allow the match to go to maximum time limit (thats way beyond 10 minutes), then come back to me and say its impossible for a scrapper to beat a tank, i doubt anyone could and no i wouldnt know from experience its just maths:P.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is pretty stupid starting arguments like this on a thread that's topic is about something else entirely. I know what X-treme is about and I know he refers to 'good' pvp tank. And I know he is right. Scrappers dont got a chance in hell to get a kill. Let us not talk about situation where the tank player is afk or braindead.
[/ QUOTE ]
As proffessed to me before spending your time running away most of the match is basically a loss not a draw and a near braindead person would know enough to back of to buy time for a recharge etc. Thats not skill. Also an AFK unless granite would drop alot sooner, i meant toe to toe and stated past 10 mins so id didnt actually mean afk now.
All i have stated is a scrapper can defeat a tanker, it is possible and everyone has forgot to take their pills over it. If all a good pvp tank has got to do is run when hes scared and come back when he has his breath back to be called a "good" pvp tank then i am gobsmacked.
My interpretation of a good PVP tank would keep the opposing scrapper and controller perma-taunted whilst the rest of the team carry on with their work. -

My own firetank was herding at lvl 2 thankyou very much and at later levels if I had problems then teamwork had overcome them.
