Synapse has a lot of Clockwork in it and they aren't always auto win with taunt. People may of taken taunt got to 24 and thought "thats useless" and respeced it out and never changed their mind for a long time in the past. Out of all them in your team your only worry would of been a defender, screw everybody else, well maybe not the MM at that level but everybody else is their own problem primarily. If you felt charitable then maybe the scrappers and brutes. If there was no defender in the team then sharing the overtime strain with the tankers is cool beans too by alternating on who is first in.

Digression warning: Usually as a Tanker I look after support and blasters who are ranged/support anyway, if any of them die without wrecklessness (as you can't save people from themselves and aoes etc) then its a Tanking fail. As a blaster I have taken damage for 10s whilst mezzed practically 20ft away and in full line of sight from a tanker who had taunt till I got defeated. He taunted what was already in his aura, a single minion. Thats an ultimate fail.
  2. Tri-Formers adapt to situations not just for themselves but for the team. You can have a end game human form that's competitive with the best specs and have a Decent Dwarf to tank with plus a Nova that can offer increased range capabilities and dps whilst at it. Effectively you can have a duct tape energy/energy blaster what can turn into a very useful tank.

VEATs are incredibly well put together I can't dispute that but they are more obvious than Khelds in terms what they can do for the team and how to get the best out of them. You still end up dropping one flexibility for another due to limited power picks and slots. It'll take some excel time to seperate the objective from the subjective. I still feel that Khelds are cleverly thought out.

On the forums you get what? 5% of the players? Then out of them you get only so many come to the Kheldian section, then out of them most of them will follow a trend. Often people take advice, follow it as law rather than be more curious and question it. As a Triformer, I can human form, dwarf or Nova and do very decent damage, very decent damage is the rough equivalent to about 3 damage slots in every attack. I am only missing Glinting Eye and Gleaming Blast, 2 attacks untaken, all attacks taken unignored. What people do is down to them, what people have the potential to do is another thing.

To the Epics. You can imagine that most people who took a Kheldian by now had a rough idea what one will turn out like. In putting in something new it's often nice to do something that is universal and satisfy anyone with a concept. A build on the kheldian idea. This form your suggesting makes for a stronger blapper, why keep human? Well ya don't and ya have 6 powers spaces as you have so skilfully shown in that build where 4 lotgs would go nicely in 4 powers, then take pulsar and haste. So essentially what you'll get is a better blapper with a new form. I am not convinced on the fear component, it's something best suited for Warshades. Another pulsar allows for stacking which would make your peacebringer a more phenomenal blapper. It's like I can see where things are heading. All this is a massive buff to Peacebringers falling not much shorter than me asking for Tankers to have immortality.

I still like the idea of a new epic, but if you notice with epics they're never stronger. They're weaker by comparison. You take an AoE, it would be weaker than it would be if it was in your main powersets. There are certain powers that Warshades have that Peacebringers can't have and visa versa, powers that when an all kheld team come together other ATs aren't essential because between the two they potentially pretty much have all they need on offer to get by but I'd imagine there would be some reason for a Dev not to allow it. New epic powers could exist, something that benefits both Kheld types. Atleast 4 out of the 100s of ideas that have been presented to the Devs could be universal.

A passive that offers quicker shift changes. A break free power which can mean you don't have to have Dwarf form. A passive that suppresses toggles and doesn't allow them to toggle off when form changing. Kheldian flavour of combat training offensive, assault or even tactics to help further save on slots. Ideas that may cost a powerslot and so in improving flexibility one way you have to forfeit something in another.

I am not dismissive of your ideas, not at all, all this is just a perhaps "temporary" opinion of someone who has yet to think that Khelds are a weak AT, objectively and so can't agree on obvious buffing and a cool new form
  3. In Mids it looks like it, in CoD it comes under pet class perhaps but the real way is to PvP someone with it and let them read their tabs I'd imagine. One of them phone a friend questions to me.

Am sure if you started writing it, it'll come back to you.
  5. Silas's guides pretty much nail what guides should be like to me. Never found fault with them when I read any of them. Knew it all already but the humour was a great addition.

  8. As far as any Moderator will be concerned whoever calls a person a troll is a troll. Then also what might seem like trolling may not be trolling at all. I for one did take THBs comment as banter. I think you have to try and look at things in the best light possible. You may write something I can actually take four different ways without knowing it. No matter how I edit stuff what I say can be taken in the wrong light. Some people may come to the forums looking for an argument I do actually think they're a waste of time. We are all entitled to an opinion.

You can be very unlucky with CoT, you jump in and not only could you instantly have your tohit down to squat but find a Succubus just confused you anyway.

Edit: I'll be amazed if my Warshade came to more than 1.5billion XD

My last post was a play on the banter about being last man standing, being the team and team mates only good for vengefodder.

I had alot of things in my head that YOUR warshade can do, so no not a one trick pony, where I have flexibility with my WS you don't but where you have flexibility with your WS I don't which is better? What is better is its subjective and if you look at Aliens original guide there are many ways to build a Human form warshade cept all without Gravimentric Snare.

I did roughly say that if a guide is stated as leant towards a specific goal such as AV soloing then fair enough no need to explain what Gravimetric Snare can do, it doesn't play a part. Builds are there in his guide of varying expenses too which is a good thing but, with varying realistic possible accomplishments, they all lacked on Gravimetric Snare which is actually not bad DPS and has utility and not necessarily in exchange of OD. I could do a Human Form with OD and with Gravimetric Snare. It maybe between Shadow Bolt and Gravimetric Snare there is the same DPS roughly as you would get from Shadow Bolt and Shadow Blast when lacking the rechg, if so given the case I'd go for extra utility.

If there are different types of builds with different functions then an all Kheld team would probably look a bit more adaptable with whats thrown at it. No one build does everything and ultimately from an egotistical point of view, you probably don't want the world and its mum claiming to do the same things you can do as it doesn't set you apart from the sheep.

If I see a guide I like to see all powers explained, their usages, and people then decide for themselves. Starless Step on my build is something I could swap out for OD, tonight I am throwing my Warshade, poor thing at CoT, to see if I want that or perhaps I'll try Malta to see if I want that. If I liked to farm I could utilise OD very nicely but I jump on a Brute or somit for that.

As it is, OD free, I just change forms for more AoE if that's required, especially under -rechg circumstances for sure rather than tick tick away.

On Mids your OD shows up as doing a significant amount of damage with a particular incarnate power involved. I don't know if Mids is reading it right or if its not. If its doing that much to OD I reckon there is a bug there.

I wish I had time to express myself a bit more clearly and nicely but like earlier I got stuff on to jump to.
  12. List the powers ya think of taking then itll take me 5 mins to do a build with them powers in.

    Put them in order too.

There is no one way that is the right way for everyone. Coming from another AT as my main I am alittle bit inclined to support the AT that is my main. Not so much what I can do for myself its a bit what else is there that I can do for my team? With so much buff love coming from the team who shouldn't leave me the last one standing or simply be venge fodder I like to give back.

On your build I could drop Shadow Blast rather than OD for Gravimetric Snare but then it doesn't necessarily give you what it is you want it to do.

That interest is a niche I have yet to encounter in game or on the boards though. Alien already gives a rundown of powers and what they do in his guide, I don't think he ever said he planned to remove that section.
What Alien One has done, well its more about what he hasn't done. Then again what have I done? I don't even write guides as a believer in people finding things out for themselves but I do see good guides being written. Silas writes good guides. If somebody asks me what I would suggest in putting in a guide then pretty much Silas would have a guide to which I would think "thats about right". Every power should have a why take it explained, then anyone reading a guide can make up their own minds on whether or not they want to take it. If all you have written is don't take it then you risk limiting people with your own limitations. Potentially things could be "don't take this, take this instead" on a build that someone might not ever afford anyway, because its not their main, and not something they are spending tonnes on.

I don't have Orbiting Death, my interests are therefore different. A guide should just be something to help people make up their own minds on what powers are, not on crystal balling what they want to take. If its a guide on a human warshade only fit to do X then yeah specifics are alright.

I have had specs that included it but found that it just was not worth the slots. Provoke is infinitely more useful and it's the one power I miss more than anything in my current build because it serves the purpose of allowing human form to tank, keep AV's in place, and pull mobs for buffs. If you have a choice between Snare and Provoke, Provoke wins every time in my book.
You might your mind set on a Warshade only doing certain things but other people might have other ideas. A guide could be one dimensional and only offer a Warshade thats good for one thing and costs X amount or a guide could be multidimensional and offer different types of builds costing different amounts. A Kheldian is not everyones main to spend 2 Billion on. If you can't afford to build to be good at perma eclipse and farming then you might be able to afford a build that can bring survivability to a more easily found better Tank.

Provoke or Black Dwarf Antagonize both do not allow for a 10:1 taunt rechg ratio to be reached. It's something like a 6:1 allowing for a higher chance for aggro loss to team mate. Provoke doesn't autohit, it doesn't -range and this alone can make anyone with that power more needy of support than anyone else depending on what you are tanking. Provoke is useful yes but still lacks, its the worst hit 5 taunt in game. Gravimetric Snare is useful moreso if someone else is tanking, this is where Warshades are good for helping PBs Tank for example, by them kiting, lowering the maximum possible dps on them.
  16. I don't really see the point in arguing against peoples ideas. If an idea is flawed a Dev would/should see it in a split second. Also in my experience Devs almost always do something slightly different or completely different to what people suggest. I think that's good and when its actually really good I know why they're getting paid to think up these things and I am not.
  17. I'm a lover of secondary effects. Initially I made a Mind Controller to level with before finding Taunt control in Tankers. In most peoples guides they don't emphasize on secondary effects enough. What the effects can do? How do they work? Why is it the powerset has them? Not just for personal performance either but also for helping a team mate do their thing better.

One could from one guide have the option to make different types of Kheldians rather than a go solo some 53 AV type Kheldian. Khelds aren't everyones main so with them being a alternative plaything to some people, cheaper, alternative multi-playstyle options could be on the table. If you can't make your Kheld all the way good at a particular goal you can atleast make it useful towards a team effort or something.

Gravimetric Snare as an example could be superslotted and be more useful than a Trick Archers Entangling Arrow yet it's skipped. A lot of people maligned Trick Archery for years but some of that was short sightedness in my book. In 2006 whilst almost every single person would of gave up at the thought of a STF with a Scrapper, 6 Blasters and 1 Trick Archer, I most definitely would of thought "Why not? Both plausible and different". A WS that is an alt, which is never going to be given the 2 billion to do greatness for itself could very cheaply offer the potential for teams to be flexible on how they overcome obstacles. A 10:1 Immob:rechg ratio being gold in Gravimetric Snare, do damage with that as well and it as a power is at its sweetest. A Warshade with that becomes a useful duct tape Trick Archer. (I am not one for finding x powerset for a team or give up). If I think of a plausible way for an MoSTF to be done with an all Kheld team then someone would have a superbly slotted Gravimetric Snare, if I tried to build an all Kheld team for an STF I can almost guarantee that I would have the only Warshade with it, which could be disagreeable if I am on a Peacebringer because I can almost guarantee that I am the only Peacebringer with Group Fly XD.
  18. As long as Alien Ones guide clarifies what his version of Human Form is I couldn't give a toot. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

I could never play anything other than Tri form myself, the fun is in the flexibility, the win is in the flexibility. I really couldnt do it.
  19. Alot of what might benefit a Kheld is there to be had as an Incarnate I thought.
  20. New Dawn

    Why no Claws?

So that there are no Catgurls doing a Tanks job.
  21. I personally thought Energy Aura was the safest bet when it comes to endurance and rechg. Invulns being the safest bet for accuracy. Some characters will take time. I always spend a by far, considerable amount of hours more playing a character after 50 and that's even with a slow level up because well thats when characters are whole and at their most fun.

Is your character building at its best?
  22. Isn't there some Dark Control set in the pipeline?
  23. So are we all agreed that each build has to be looked at as a seperate case scenario rather than making anything a strict rule?

    I chuck out rules anyway.
