Maelwys that suggestion is "oh so close to mine" just add 1 more rechg and 1 more acc to antagonise and a rechg to flare.
-
Claws is a great multihitter. I think its really wasteful to just single target with it. Its second only to spines for aoes and thats mostly cos its more awkward to play for aoes besides having much less area covered over time.
Wasnt this section meant to be about shields? -
Your build will be lacking versus 50s in RV with their slots.
-
I kite AVs with mine so giving myself an occasional heal is a good idea. She is also claws and so cant get the melee def buff you can with parry. In PVP the world and his mum may hit ya easily too and so its good there too.

NO WAI!!!
Gratz Zaprobo, i find i play more hours on a 50 than i do for its journey but in your case i'd advoid that. -

I always thought Nova form outguns Human form for damage over time against multiple targets and then of course Human form outguns Dwarf just from scanning the figures.

I belive human is better when you get cosmic balance into play.. ie in big teams. Nova doesnt benefit from cosmic balance.

When i look at damage i take a cone attack, look at how many it hits and multiply that by how much damage it does to one foe to get a damage to group figure as opposed to single target. Then i look at the recharge and multiply the damage to group by how many times i can get to use that attack within a time period. It all adds up for me that way. Only thing is i am simply too not into khelds to be bothered to work it out and how you get to play a toon decides on how you slot. -
I had to say least wanted due to the fact i couldnt say that i didnt pick them
-
Its very good, i dont know how anyone can find a guy with a cheesy grin interesting.
-
Wow that looks professionally done to me that really does, great work!
-
I got 2 /traps MMs which is daft but i liked the idea with 2 concepts. Triage and seeker drones are my least wanted i dont know other people feel on it tho.
-
I know really little about kheldians because i just couldnt get into them but in order to get the will to get them both from 37 (2 years old in may/june i think) up to 50 i am finding the inventions system a nice incentive. Get them to 50 and give them everything i can get from all my toons and save on slots that way.
-
Click on people and look at their power choices to work out how they may of designed their toon to play. Then you can do a group in a way that could work best for all and say "is that okay for everyone?" Everyone in the teams journey matters and so some meeting in the middle if possible on dynamics is nice.
As my trick archer on pugs mainly i have seen some tanks in mostly untaunted scattered mobs with other people wondering when healing arrow will come. 1 aoe debuff and i could be defeated in 1 or 2 hits whereas if they were all taunted i could build a really nice safe haven to be in from stacking more debuffs. -

Weapon Mastery set but everyone seems to say its not very good, so I have never used it (has anyone? for opinions sake?).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well its upto you what ya want, no one else can tell you what you want, what you think and how you like things. Whatever your looking to do you have to go for that.
One of my best mates has weaponry on his kat/regen and hes been very happy not everyone will be the same. Philosophers build is a suggestion and nothing more.
You can get on test server with anytoon and come up with numerous builds and use respecs till you find something your own.
I have alot of toons, if they all felt the same in playing, had to play the same way, deal with problems the same way or if all my scrappers picked the same epics itll be poo for me.
I dont like dark mastery conceptually on any scrapper but thats it my only reason for not having that one. Body mastery buffs what you got in a way and the other epics offer you tools to play with. -
Thats a really nice build i love the idea of Weapon mastery on a Kat/SR, slotting looks good enough.
I would of personally of taken caltrops for a PVE timebuyer (nice under people who are in over their heads feet) and to not have to chuck shuriken at someone cos its low damage if i had to, as the melee attacks do better.
Caltrops in PVP may help prevent someone elses aid self from happening. It will on 1 interrupt for sure. But I'd still of wanted to keep the shurikens and webgrenade.
Calling of the wolf is somit like 4 secs recharge and 2 rechg slots may not be ultimately as good as 2 taunt slots or range but imo 4 secs is good enough. -
I am i think the opposite to people in this respect. For example:
Some tanks ramp up the survivability that they can in their tank and yet want a few risks.
I dont ramp up all the survivability in my tank in order to be challenged and at risk. Admittedly there is more of a need not to deviate in order not to have anyone die but thats my way of needing people more. When i look at a person in a team with an effect like a debuff, the debuffs are essential to me and that person who made say a rad defender is very important to play to assist and they are an important key member to think about. They made a Rad defender to play a Rad defender. I am not gonna go "we got an empath so ya relegated to blasting" with whatever slots you have mustered for your level when you may have ploughed all the possible slots in your primary i am gonna get as many in those debuffs as i possibly can.
When i want the chaos challenge and risk or die 20 times in a mish i can just join any PuG for that and some of the PuGs can be better than SG teams anyway.
I got blasters, i made a trick archer to play a trick archer but if it isnt safe to lay debuffs down ill get killed. Now if its never safe, getting defeated gets tiresome. Your faceplantedness on the floor means your not useful. Your also possibly ignored as a player because no one who could is helping you, by giving you enough survivability to actually use more of the debuffs. You then could say well i'll respec and slot up my secondaries single targets more as atleast i might live but then you become a 50% effective blaster - but i have blasters already and i didnt want another one. You could say did i debuff too early? I have a tendency to know if anything is taunted or controlled and so personally wouldnt fire a debuff into free roaming +4 rikti for suicides sake so it wouldnt happen. I just think poo all thats safe to use is my 1 acc snap shot.
Some people have toons and they like to be made effective in teams with much needed assistance. I am more for people supporting and providing support to eachother than damage numbers as killing is of no interest to me but that maybe just me. I go into a mission and its like "we need the hostages" and it is preferably without force or violence. Well as things always turn out they never give up anything without a fight (swines) and resist arrest. The fun isnt in the actual fight, or seeing orange numbers but in the keeping of everyone being okay (in rl getting hit in the face or hitting people isnt nice) and to come out of something saying "how did we manage that?" is the good part for me.
Now herding isnt always essential and doesnt have to slow things down. On the really small teams i'd run in and around to get enough as spawns are small but on big teams i only have to taunt and let them all come to me. I see tanks run in and run back and have a group chasing them when they could of just taunted and hid (cos of ranged attacks) and let the mob come to them. So already you have halved the time. It only takes about 2 secs max to get a taunt pulse out from an aura and you can use a pbaoe opener to attract the rest for almost certainty and taunt will recharge by then usually for any breakers. Like i say tho herding isnt always essential as some are already grouped up as it is, out of perception range of other groups.
My main tank being invuln gets more defence from tight groups and that does matter. Blazing aura, combustion and fire sword circle on my firetank stack better. My icetanks icepatch is being used more effectively as well as icicles and ice sword circle and my stonetank is contributing to as many as she can with her effects.
Fun is subjective and boring is subjective. I bought the game to play a hero and thats it, the sole reason. If the team are all defeated the mission has failed to me cos in RL heroes dont get a second chance. -
Your methods and experience is similar to mine. I would of wanted to kick the controller quite frankly as i dont put up with people who wont try to assist others for too long.
There is a good use of a power and good positioning and then there is misuse of a power and bad positioning (unless getting ppl done in is your intention).
I think people should talk in teams especially PuGs and establish tactics. I am a part RPer, if its non chaotic then as a hero i love it as we are putting the safety of the team first due to caring and looking out for eachother.
Leave a team if it the dynamics dont go anywhere near conceptually suiting you because if you arent enjoying it then thats a good reason to leave. -
I dont tank with other tanks so might i just say it wasnt me
. Although i have duo'd with freedom as shan (whose inuln anyway) against malta with carnie mish as he was lovely enough to show me how to do a safeguard mission.
People can take turns on herding but it is better if the other tank knows whats going on first imo. If a lvl 45 Granite tank brought all he could handle to a even more tauntful lvl 45 firetank then there could be problems. So auras are best not crossing for a start. Its really good if both tanks know what the other one is doing and they cooperate with eachother fairly and allow eachother to tank on their own terms. You make a tank and so ya may aswell tank with it.

so naturally the barking of orders to team mates becomes almost subconscious.
[/ QUOTE ]
Barking orders? I thought it was letting the team know of your intentions. I as my blaster am only interested in what angle i can best use my cones from mainly. I am not looking for any nearby nems with their high perception as I am keen to keep the fight duration down and so i too need to be aware some of the time. An obvious herdpoint to me may not be the one chosen. Alot of people may not understand from not having tanks, taunt control or certain methods and why they are used. -
[ QUOTE ]
Don't use GA, don't generally tank higher than +3s so don't need both.
[/ QUOTE ]
What Fault said, only in granite the team could actually need you to have so much. Serious plus levels with high taunt resist could near enough ignore you almost all of the time in favour of someone else and so non stop is a case of no choice.
Granite id say is an only in emergency type thing as well normally. Especially at 50 as you wont be running into +5s. -
Well it was a rhetorical question, i think if its the same guy after being invited to the team I was on one day someone said pass star pls and kicked him before he even made it to the mission. I havent met him.
If its the same person its the one who grieved on a defiant hami raid. I dont do alot on Defiant and so am not that knowledgeable of Defiant players. Union and Vigilance are more me. -
Good damage per endurance and has good recharge and so good in terms of dps and attacks to an end bar. My AR/dev is still on brink of not needing stamina but thats cos i play with 2 travel powers on at times.
-
If he said he was always the team leader of his team and perhaps someone who decides on a team dynamic would it be different?
The "healer"in question is probably not even bothered (got to 50 quick) and happy to be acknowledged as "there".
-
End reduxes on your toggles would be more beneficial on attacks. Your attack chain gets you to low end in the first place your toggles dont. CJ is possibly worth a def slot or jump slot max on fiery aura. Temp protection helps fiery aura versus cold damage really which you wont see much off till later. I think you have slotted health too early too, rechgs in healing flames would be better.
-
In pve you could go stamina less with just dark/ or /elec but you would be better off with someone like a kin versus a long haul fight against an AV or Hero. In all other areas you could time your end buffs well within groups of mobs. I wouldnt want to be without haste tho and a haste crash when your low on end can be dangerous and so timing and economic attack usage is important (aoes on 3 or more foes only maybe).
With a dark/elec you could forget haste if you wanted but i think you can have more end mods to each end buff power giving you more end on a tough single target like an EB with haste.
Conserve power should be enough to tide you over no matter what but you must atleast 1 end slot attacks before armours to gain more attack chains to an end bar. I have made a Scrapper with just conserve power for fun and one end buff power like dark consumption would of sealed it up nicely.
Then id finish up with mace mastery for the aoe -fly immob with -rechg. -
I always thought Nova form outguns Human form for damage over time against multiple targets and then of course Human form outguns Dwarf just from scanning the figures.

For me empaths dont have to be hitting the enemy because if you want a pacifistic hero then have one.
They dont have to be in melee range of enemy due to team dynamics that makes it unnecessary. The fact that they dont debuff the enemy, they cant cm or fort themselves and that they may get overwhelmed by aoes, cones and pbaoes does make staying out of melee range a sensible decision at times but not all of the time. It isnt always a better idea to stay out of melee range all of the time as sometimes someone else can either debuff or provide buffs etc etc to make a normally highly dangerous situation less dangerous.
I do fly by heal auras myself and have played on teams where i never get to nor need to use it. The rest of what i got is either ranged or can be done prior to a fight duration. But i like to use the RAs when i can see people actually needing it, rather than using it when they wont need it and then have them needing it when its recharging.
The tweaks to the game that will allow me to buff using RAs without stopping is gonna be great as then i can fly by RA keeping my exposure to aoe effects to a minimum.
The RA+AB at the same time thing is usually nonsensical imo. Its nicer if one of them is done whilst one of them is recharging, I mean come one how much does anyone actually need? When one is recharging atleast someone can recieve the other which is better than having both down.
