As an SS/inv your tohit would be quite high if you perma rage with 3 tohits in it, invincible could have atleast 1 tohit in it and then you could have a herd and fight method which is great for def and footstomp anyway. So for PVE you could be 1 acc or no acc instead of 2 in some powers and then 2 end slot instead to taste.

    SS powers have the same cost in endpoints for any effect as anyother brute per power. Although across the sets some effects are far more meaningful than others in when in teams.

    Invulnerability set isnt end hungry at all. What you may find is that your highly susceptible to end drain.

    The rage crashes take 25% of endurance from you but your damage per endurance went up in the meantime and you could of got more bang for your buck out of it.

    Why? Do it and find out. If your trying it for the second time around then it will be tough but not as tough as the first time around. I read my combat logs. Whats on offer as in its effects upon any type of tank is of worthy note. Upto Gaussian its pretty straight forward gaming but once you see him its gets really good.

    But I will say the saving NPC ones were my favourite and its nice to get them all out alive inclusive of the squishy lvl 40 called Lk'Onik despite all else being 51+
  3. Wrong is a gimped taunt "in granite mode". Why? well add a -rechg effect or up the levels of the AV, I have seen AVs turn on less paltry slotting.

    You dont need granite for most any AV with most team make ups. However with it on, providing you are compensating for its faults, it makes life a whole lot easier for teaming, therefore reduces the challenge for the team.

    Pylons level of damage and accuracy is nothing special.

    lvl 54 rikti with a decent or half decent team is nothing special.

    Hami.. weakened hamidon is nothing special.

    That dont mean that current or old content will be or was nothing special.

    People take perma GA to get other useful powers, like the look or dont have alot of confidence out of it.

    The new Vanguard material should imo put all Tanks on edge if they try to solo on Unyielding or most certainly Invincible XD .

    Tanks are about 'direction and placement of effects' control imo. They are sod all good to a team in terms of efficiency or effectiveness if they arent (but i do think doing damage for -fight duration aids survivability so lets not forget that damage can be important ;p )

    In teams the only time to set up a trap is when -fight duration is desired and usually the only time to drop turret nowadays is fighting AVs. The rest might come in handy although none of it essential.

    I find myself giving any toon a short shelf life and then later on finding them attractive again. Its called altaholism. There can be dry periods of "ok i played this out now" till the next nice power turns up and i to may drop in do a mission and then go play somit else.

  6. Over 80% of the gaming population probably sit around or solo waiting for some one to talk to them or for someone else to make the team. When i first started you could find 8 lvl10s standing at the gates of Hollows (CoH) not talking to eachother, all waiting for one of the other people to try and make a team. Sadly whatever server you go on its the same.

    On open maps if your team has managed through perception gain the attention of another mob thats more than your team can handle then perhaps 'herding' as it is in everyones meaning but mine would of been better but amny people will know that as an afterthought. There are at times Tankers herding necessarily where people are thinking "why?". It could be because they are well aware of the perception range of the mobs. Other than that most of what I think has largely been said here or on the american forums by those that think there is a time and place but i might add "issue" due to what gets broken

    Everytime you use the fireswords you can always close your eyes XD.

    Your damage output will be subpar, particularly against the combustion burn FSC combo. Bright side, team with as many controllers as you can get as then you could be spamming a sooner 6 slotted Burn for awesome damage and if your heavy on concept its all more slots for Pyre Mastery later.

    Some people have different level up builds for speed and then change for conceptualness when more convenient later but at the end of the day concepts are more interesting and can make the game more challenging.

    Yes thats hastened and probably nearer 19 secs but would you tank LR out of granite?

    My mate came out of granite for a bit on the inner circle and was a little surprised to find he was alright.
  14. If ya have an Emp to give AP then AB would of given perma dp or hoarfrost anyway and maybe Spad already did. A nice little attack chain of LR and his men can cut through even a toggled up invulns max hitpoints quite nicely 'if' really unlucky.

    Id quite like to see more little sonics running about tbh.

    It looks like you are thinking of Invulnerability as a resistance set. It fares much better as a defence set. Think of the S/L resistance as a nice little bonus ( that makes the Rikti's nastiest attacks, the big swords, only tickle ) and play to Invs main strength, Invincibility.

    My inv tank is my toughest, against pretty much anything that doesn't have defence debuffs.

    Defense for general herding and resists for AVs and when doing either you may need support from players and what they do may contribute to your defense anyway or may contribute to your resistance anyway.

In some teams, people have failed or said it cant be done after they were all standing almost neatly behind tank getting hit and debuffed themselves for ever decreasing chances or had people segregated as in "you lot do gens and us lot do recluse" and then ended up with a defender who should of still done -Dam and -Acc to Recluse applying it to a Gen instead XD .

    The teams is one unit imo and its a case of ya either come together as one enough or dont. Wilfs build works well with any type of defender and should be making it even easier for them in fact and I would say teams could play along side him unchallenged but if they had always known Wilf and levelled with him then ya less likely to see them when it comes to a challenge with someone else almost completely different actually rise to it.

    Its not ice tanks cant do it, its a ice tank couldnt do it with a certain team, and its not the rest of the teams fault and not the ice tanks fault its just the way it was for the whole team.

    Sonics +res is great but other defenders -dam is good too.

  21. When I do I10, I am gonna tank it, just like i tank carnie and malta with a team. Whether you see it or not teams provide support, they will be helping you to help them and visa versa. The tank is often considered to be the big man but its not, everyone on the team are equals and they all matter. Like spit will i be sharing a team with another tanker or not going in first cos thats just not the way. The policeband SFG missions have Dark Ring Mistresses and Sappers in, if ya cant solo it on invincible then for me ya tank or methods need tweaking, if ya can solo it then in teams against Carnie or Malta you just need to get to see and pick ya main targets first and at blindspots ya need a method to pull and pick them out.

    Rikti arent exactly a high risk enemy in my book.

    @Lionsbane, if your really worried get weave but my survivability comes from picking main threat and getting all offensive on it. Scrappers are defeat it before it defeats you, controllers are control it so it dont matter and my tank mixes the both instead of stand there and hope everything end draining or psi misses. Shivans are heavy on the energy in my opinion and so fall in the herd fast for max invincible then defeat fast category.
