    My TA is staminaless as well but its not all that offendery which could/should make a big difference.
  3. I wouldnt give a monkeys about any type of defence other than 'active defence' ie stuns and controls, these far outweigh the likely def a blaster gets, anyway either take cj for the resist to immobs or stealth for -per or hover to aerial kite efficiently.

    Combat jump should be doing this to a blaster:

  4. Can you really play this combo of sets without Stamina?

    Given Archeries low end cost/animation and long animation times in which end recovery is easily made, yes you can, however end slots in attacks will still be preferable in the most commonly used attacks.

    Given the fact that with Archery inherent accuracy bonus and Targetting drone you only need one accuracy slot (or none) per power, I think I could use one slot in each power for Endurance reduction.

    1 acc because many a time can TD be detoggled and that attack needs to be fired asap. Also 1 acc * TD tohit = hit upto +5 easy.

    Even AR/Dev can go staminaless, I fight with 1 travel power and 3 toggles running and so stamina is still only just beneficial to me. (All primaries or near all have an end slot).

    According to my maths with total unlikely abuse of Ignite, Archery gets crushed on DPS by AR but as I say 'unlikely' abuse. However AR vs an AV is gonna be better than Archery vs AV. A realistic use of Ignite will tell a more even story about which I can only bet.

    I only end slot toggles if there is nowhere better to slot as well because during the fight duration the toggles arent my end heaviest powers.

    as an Elec you should be able to end gain often anyway.

    Brutes as Tanks

    I grab 10 foes, Soul Drain on 10 foes is an "Oh Momma!" and in all that Dark Regen is bound to hit and so would Dark Consume. With no res slots but everything put into attacks herd 10 foes defeat 10 foes of even level is doable, with res slots raise the difficulty. In teams you get extra shields and everything!

    Now consider you dont have as much survivability as a Tanker therefore you cant have as long as a fight duration in a way...But! you dont need to have a fight duration as long as a Tankersd because you have kicked everyones butts!

    Now you could come to me and talk about alpha taking. I rarely do alpha taking as there doesnt need to be one.

    Anyway more than 10 at a time is a waste because your attacks dont do more than that. Taking on 10 at once shouldnt see many people complaining and its good fury.

    Kill or be killed is how I see Brutes.

    I actually have taunt on a brute 20ish, I cant live without it, love keeping people alive doing GMs at Halloween event with it, and yes it did keep people alive but mostly I cut out alpha taking with it and keep the fury up from foes hitting me and imo very importantly save the Domie who does much greater aggro control!

    I have split powers up, not to be rude but to individually address, these are my thoughts, I wont be offended if ya disagree but I have had arguments with one of the best TAs out there, won on flash arrow, in a way lost on glue arrow, drew on acid arrow, owned on disruption, aww you get the pic! But never ever get perfect play out of a TA, teams play all kinds of ways and somethings are recharging when ya just didnt want them to.

    01) --&gt; Flash Arrow==&gt; Rechg(1)

    No need to recharge it imo, it doesnt self stack, you'd rarely need the recharge, I know a recharge has its moments especially even in PVP but imo the tohit debuff does beautiful things, people say its small and doesnt do anything but it does good things imo. Its not just a -perception tool. The tohit debuff effectively adds defence to the team, for some in the team its not much to write home about but for others who already have decent defense its an "oh momma". More psuedo def than Weave does (and people of some builds take weave finding the end cost worth it) but you give it for free and itll do things like offset the penalties of Unyielding on an Invuln which can be a major difference in survival for them at many a time. I would have atleast a tohit debuff right there.

    02) --&gt; Glue Arrow==&gt; Rechg(2) Slow(3) Rechg(5) Rechg(9) Slow(42) Slow(43)

    The slows are slows in duration, this way of slotting you can, after using it on one group use it on a second group and have 2 groups slowed like this (but normally the first group is defeated) its already slowed 90% run speed without slows so its just a "for how long?" slotting.

    08) --&gt; Poison Gas Arrow==&gt; Rechg(8) EndRdx(9)

    I actually love this arrow, 3 rechg SO atleast, sleeps make a longer 'choke' time but with sleeps the foes are easily woken up. Id need to prove the sleeps make a longer -dps time despite foes being woken to say more.

    12) --&gt; Acid Arrow==&gt; Rechg(12) Acc(13) DefDeBuf(13) DefDeBuf(23) Acc(46)

    Great for PVP or soloing imo, great in teams just a small AoE so tighter the mobs are for you the better. Often the best loved power for some TAs but those TAs probably solo more than those that best love somit else.

    16) --&gt; Ice Arrow==&gt; Hold(16) Hold(17) Rechg(17) Slow(37) Rechg(37) Acc(46)

    Forget slow, itll probably end up stacking for slowness with Glue anyway, Id 2 acc it atleast, in fact 2acc, 2 hold, 2 rechg is perfect for me.

    18) --&gt; Disruption Arrow==&gt; Rechg(18) Rechg(19) EndRdx(25)

    I love this power, I dont end slot it tho, I dont notice the end cost, the animation times are so long I have gained it back in end recovery 3 rechg SO is definate for me, I find it recharges just in time with each fight.

    28) --&gt; Ranged Shot==&gt; Dmg(28) Dmg(33) Dmg(33) Rechg(37) Acc(43)

    Id sooner stick a range is snap for pulling and get somit else, recharges of other attacks aint too shabby so this would be a pulling tool. Id pick somit else like haste for more debuffs and powers like oilslick over time, but your playing your toon, if ya love it keep it.

    35) --&gt; Entangling Arrow==&gt; Acc(35)

    2 accs, this is a smart power for TAs to take imo, immobs keeo foes ranged which means their attacks are less damaging, -fly keeps flying AVs floored so people can keep up the good work and say your the only defender in my team with one of my Tankies then to lower AV dps on my butt I may kite because you dont heal, and love you for this power.

    41) --&gt; Conserve Power==&gt; Rechg(41) Rechg(42) Rechg(42)

    And now at this point Id wonder what stamina is for, ingame I lay all debuffs, fight over, goto next group, lay all debuffs fight over, rarely needing to pop a blue whilst being staminaless due to end recovery over animation times. The attacks though make my endurance drop faster than anything else but i barely get a chance to attack as I am using my primaries but if ya attack alot then stamina is good saving on end slots.

    47) --&gt; Temp Invulnerability==&gt; DmgRes(47) DmgRes(48) DmgRes(48) EndRdx(48) EndRdx(50)

    Its not that bad for end, better TO end slot a commonly used attack that may use more endurance per second.

    Sometimes the fight leaves someone maybe in need of some health I find aid other useful, it then removes downtime for that person or offers a greater chance for them in the next group. TA doesnt need a heal but I look at the damage Id offer in that downtime and compare to the damage that person in need of a bit of a heal and say my attacks aint quite making up for it plus healing badges dont just magically appear .

    I tend to 3 recharge SO powers, its not about trying to stack, its about having a power available for each and every group.

    How late should I ask people then? Id like recoup/discussion times if the unexpected occurs, Dr Aeon will be a pig with a rush in but rushing in is more fun. i wouldnt mind seeing how we do, but after a probable teamwipe a change in tactics will occur that will take time to achieve.

    Fire melee needs taunt less than energy melee and energy melee tankers can gauntlet well, however all that possible jumping about can do my head in and I dont like to unsettle (as in split) a debuffed group, they may switch attention to the debuffer, depends on lvl an all. Running out of endurance or missing and needing to gauntlet aint too nice but then taunt can be still recharging, someone can be a blocked target, things happen.

    Yep I dont care about Luck of the Gambler in Invincibility. I'll be keeping my taunt durations right where they are.

    I have seen a level 42 Invuln with no unyielding, he ran in, he got held and that was it, his job was to get held.

    Also no dullpain at 50, not very flexible, needing more help than the usual, runs in takes alpha, gets hurt, gets hurt some more and defeated and that was it, his job was to be easily fallen before that part of a fight duration that the tide changes in his favour.

    A 50 Tanker on passives, he Tanked an AV, he got away with it but damn just passives!!11!!

    A stonetanker getting to Granite, therefore doesnt pick up armours along the way, I actually liked this guy cause he tried but nope I wouldnt do that, he got floored alot, I was on my scrapper and got floored alot soon after.

    Sometimes you can have a person with a sub optimum build, that play well and a person with an optimum build that doesnt. I always pay attention to how a person moves with their toon rather than their concept.

    Ill be looking at 9am next sunday hopefully, I think once your told the method, you'd see why I am not quietly confidant, I do see a possible hole in which to reap from, on test we can log off and resume at anytime if someone has to go too early with no need to play a toon and if upon hitting a wall we can log off to have a good think of a way over, through or around that wall. Dr Aeon map is a problem, GV map isnt that big a problem, single AV pulling may have to be mastered there and then or we will split them on their travel powers with a slight team split, with a scrapper taunt controlling 2 AVs and staying alive. 8 scrappers in the team should be enough damage, the ability to get a chance to rest for endurance should be there, one resting at a different time to someone else, small moments where a couple of people take too much of a hit can happen but they should be small if all goes well. If I said "I have been doing this" then in a test patch there might be a "AVs got this" so I am not likely to squeal atleast not after the all scrapper STF has been done. I have 4 concerns, the map, the difference between RV and STF, teamwork and Scirroco.

    So far I have asked those that said they would be interested in taking part and replied. Next sunday is the day after Bridgers pub night to which I might go, but I will not get drunk on in order to see this through.

    Apparently a build up of dust does cause problems, I still have one odd strange problem and thats one which the pooter says "I need a rest", logs me off and shuts down. When the pooter was dirty inside itll turn itself on and off constantly.

    Due to work commitments I have no life during the week, this post is basically me having got home from work, cooked dinner and so forth, bedtime is usually 6am in the morning and so am pretty much left with weekends.
  25. With my younger tanks, when I get an invite, I might ask if they really do need my help, then when in the team ill let it be felt that i simply came to help and dont actually need them or need to be there and am there more so as a favour. In short I am either there to Tank or Ill find/make another team to tank for.

    Some defenders and controllers like to point, give them chances, sometimes its actually better if a controller does a non aggro control move, like Mass hypnosis or confuses a sapper, dark defenders etc like to tankmage, at any point flybys to intercepts can be made they should go for it, sometimes they might do it badly and sometimes they dont, but if you meet a mass immob opener then good luck! If a scrapper runs in first just say "afk a mo" , if you meet one that does get a team in over their heads, grab what you can thats not after the scrapper and pull them back (this is remembering your not there for scrappers) and you'd be better able to look after the others. I usually do a group and say "is that okay?" then ppl just go with it. Some enemies are highly perceptive and need pulling away from other groups, Break Line of Sight herding helps especially with quicksanders and caltroppers.
