QR + Stamina + Dark Consumption altogether means forget endurance slotting attacks which can mean better high burst DPS and possibly even taking less attacks for more travel or damage sustainability. Decide what powers you want in your build and then slot to compensate.
-
Ill probably have to go for a Brute/Stalker AT thats a Pirate so that atleast I have a pirate roaming the Rogue Isles. Pirates did have scimitars didnt they?
-
I think test has been properly fixed however I think it could be likely we'd be a man down. But even If 1 non scrapper gets it started by making an 8 and 7 carry on I think its doable, would prefer one more person involved though.
-
Ah didnt look at that post! The words PVP just make me pass on it.

Needing stamina is a matter of playstyle and slotting. With so little def boost coming from EA nowadays plus the ability to use IOs you can see to your endurance needs with EA. Being defense based means end drain attacks are less likely to hit as well. A lvl up build would be nice from a Ice/SS and you might find stamina a good idea until you can 6 slot EA and then respec it out. I know I would.

So how do you judge the fearless from the gutless? Personally, my Elec/Elec and Energy/Invuln both charge headlong into the fray, whereas my Energy/Energy tends to skirt the edges and take out what he can. I wouldn't call him (well, "it") gutless for doing so, but it's also far from fearless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your energy/energy is somewhere in between on a certain group of foes, which is not necessarily all foes. I personally like to redline, if I redline then I am pushing it some! Proper gutless comes down to leechers. -

Brutes just come in 2 categories, one of being Solo oriented and one of being Team oriented.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed that for ya. Energy Aura Brutes are geared more towards the solo side of play, as it Energy Melee - that's not to say you're not good in a team, but there are better choices for both primary and secondary for that. Those Brutes can worry about aggro and taunting - my EM/EA likes to worry about the SMASH!

Fearless or Gutless.
Fearless is simply getting stuck in.
Gutless is tentatively entering battle last and/or leeching a bit.
I actually think Villainside is friendlier. People expect more from players heroside in terms of being supportive to one another and try harder not to get eachother killed. On villains they dont expect any morals, sympathy, teamwork etc all that can go out the window! Plus the idea of villains failing at something isnt as bad as heroes failing at something. Id much rather fail at destroying the world than saving it. Oh noes didnt complete the LRSF! So what! Also if their was a badge for stabbing team mates in the back on villains or what could be aka getting people killed Id find it acceptable. The fact that a villain may enter my SG rob my stores and bugger off with the loot is also acceptable! As a villain I just find cowardice unacceptable. -
Taunt isnt a must have but it isnt a "dont get" neither. You can make your build about many, many things but if your soloing a large amount of the time then why get it?
*Puts on Villain mindset*
Brutes just come in 2 categories, one of being Fearless and one of being Gutless.
I took aid self early (14) as it can with the right play offer me better damage sustainability than some of the shields, not to mention some of the damage types are pretty non existant till certain levels anyway. All attacks can be done in the air so flight pool on an Nrg/ is more than just a fine idea especially if they fix that Cathedral of Pain. -
It does collect aggro within a small radius. Aggro control is good for fury, however too much is bad dps cos ya dead! I tend to stick with 10 max solo or teamed as thats what my maximum targetting ability with my own attacks, there is survival from just being the last one standing and so I need to be able to beat up what I got before they beat me up, my elec/elec looked like she had an unstoppable crash after every fight, no end and no health almost but the fights were faster from defeating 10 at a time than they would of been 1 at a time or even 6 at a time. With a good corrupter plus alot of team damage (and fast) maybe you can do more but I dont if I can actually help it as even sometimes doing 10 can be pushing it. Depends on the set alot of the time and enemy, their damage type versus your resistance or their accuracy versus your defense. There should be no pressure to play tankerlike anyway because CoV has no need for a tankerlike AT really, but being able to play in a tankerlike way can at times can be beneficial, mostly I would do it for Fury.
Be careful if ya rely on buffs, pay attention to when they drop. I know tankers on coh, who basically have fort drop without knowing and then run in. Id say its better to watch your buffs than rely on others to keep an eye on them especially if they come from offenders, controllers, corrupters or MMs as the buffs are sometimes like a secondary objective. -

Drifting off topic here, seeing as the OP has gotten his questions answered, unless someone has anything relevant to say concerning En/En lets move on shall we?

This is considered a fine post to make by people going on what one moderator has said in the past.
I like Cuffster and consider this kind of forum policing acceptable but if it was coming from someone who breaks the rules then, admittedly, I wouldnt be too happy. -

The phrase is more than a little misleading.
Read it as "A Tanker using Taunt results in amazing damage mitigation for the tanker's squishier teammembers".
[/ QUOTE ]
A bit more in ways than that Maelwys so its not too misleading. I actually dont think its misleading at all. -

We are working on restoring the Training Room to working condition as fast as possible. However: This might take some time - so please do not plan any special events for the coming days as we might have to turn access to Training Room on and off at (seemingly) random times.

brackets on the seemingly random?
I am getting a tad miffed.
Saturday at 9am we can make a start and get into it for as long as possible hopefully. Great thing about test is we dont need the toons for anything else so can leave them there should somit go down.
If this goes well enough I might make a plan on an all blaster STF, somit came to me tonight, I saw a light bulb, above my head - true story -

Shannon, how exactly is Taunt amazing damage mitigation? Surely it is the opposite...

I dont expect Brutes to aggro control but I know they can. However with Energy/energy its far less than the other sets and so are nearer Boss droppers like scrappers.

And since when are Scrapper just Boss droppers?

Who said "just" Boss droppers?

Test
Looking at, as most likely to show up:
Maelwys but other scrapper
Nightmarer
Shift
Cynic
DSorrow
Nano Byte
Katalina
as possible either ways:
Eve
Lycon
I have asked Leese again who couldnt make last Sunday due to somit but made a definate decision well in advance.
Id have to check for changes to anything on test between now and then to see if my method is still promising. -

In Shannon's build I would remove all the EndRed in early powers (there's really no use, especially with Stamina 3-slotted) and maybe replace them with Recharge, to increase the attack rate.
If an there must be an EndRed, I would put it in Thunder Strike.
I play this way and I'm NEVER short of End, not even in the most critical situations.
If you get the Electrical Mastery pool, make sure you get Shocking Bolt and Charged Armor.

I did state this:

and even add end slots on attacks that would normally change to rechg later due to powersink.
[/ QUOTE ]
Long fights require extra attack chains to an endurance bar and when you get powersink you can resupply the endurance bar fast and so at that point would switch.
But whats with the thread necromancy? -
You cant chain macros as in press one button and have a power done to all pets of a certain rank, you would have to select a pet by name. In fact itll be better
/bind numpad1 "$$petselect_name name1"
/bind numpad2 "$$petselect_name name2"
I have my trays 1,2,3 and the 3rd shifts to tray4 or tray5 and this allows me use my main numkeys. -
One has the team to thank. As my empath I have had up to 14 CMs on the Tank (incase something happens to me) and let it goto no less than 6 when they did GW (gone down to 6 with other actions) and because they and the team were good we got thru the STF well. Can one expect another empath to remember/be vigilant or know about 5 CMs alot of the time when they tank? Not really, and when asking how many def slots are in fort the word "none" can come back to you. As any AT, team members can either make things easy or hard and so results are a joint team result.
I joined a PuG STF as my empath once and on the very first AV, the Tanker ran in when I asked to buff everyone and then people started to try and support him before proper he had aggro control. The AV actually ran out and twatted the rest of the team including me, the number 2 on his hitlist, as I was nearest his first target, a controller. No amount of a defenders capabilities is gonna hold up when the Tanker doesnt acquire main target and make sure they are taunted first and buffed people are that much easier to look after. -
I took stimulant to get aid self by 14, and then stamina became next on the list. Its not an early bloomer at all and i felt Id take these powers asap. I may respec them out later but I doubt it.
