    I just want a Server to have done it for the melee characters really, preferably one of ours, I have my loyalties and rather than shoot my mouth off on how I would try to do it and possibly see it done elsewhere or changes made before we can do it, Id sooner hush it. Evidence of "how" would do no one any favours in terms of finding the game challenging unless we fail and then its just evidence on how not to do it

    Edit 12:32 am. Just been in Defiant RV, Ghost Widow fine. Scorpion fine. Scirroco the swine came too. 3 is a bit excessive for one scrapper. No not dead although end drained :s . Just cant taunt control 3.

    Send me a PM anyone who wants in, its likely a Sat morning or Sun morning due to the fact that I get home about 11pm. I am usually asleep Sat morning i sleep 4am to 1 pm normally and so would only appreciate people who will show up, not name drop themselves and then disappear into the void.

    I will ask to see if a couple of Union players would transfer for this. One of my closest friends who was in on this last time, has learnt this technique has a broken digit and I have to check up on him.

    Thing with Live is, if someone pulls out at any point, for any reason they have jeopardised the team because maybe some players can't wait to carry on at another date.

    I haven't checked if the game is still the same ie any modifications have been made that we don't know about to AVs. "Wiskers" got corrected to "Whiskers" and "who knew?" but the maths behind what I aim to be doing is backed up by outside resources I could put links to, (if we don't pull it off) and so you would know there has been a change.

    Another thing with Live is, if a possible respecification is needed for any certain secondary effect then that may be asked of. Its a challenge that ain't been done. Thats why I want to do it.

    Once anyone in this knows the method and should it still work it might be best to keep it under wraps and use it, if thats what your toon can afford to be about, only in emergencies.

    Well with the Test Server up and down all the time and most of the people wanting to do this on Defiant and with me wanting my Scrappers all bunched up on Defiant - I put my 50 Scrapper on it.

    So now my Kat is there to give this a go "live".

    In terms of damage overtime a IO recharge would be better than a 3rd damage in the attacks.

    On an /elec I would be slightly tempted to get Aid self before worrying about elements or energies but only on my /nrg have I actually done so as thats more defence based.

    The 3rd rechg in web envelope looks like only adding half a second.

    The 3rd blue in Stamina returns you 0.06 end per second, over 10 seconds thats 0.6 end saved which isn't much at all, more can be saved overtime by slotting an end almost anywhere else.

    Provided you have kept other shields on Power surge is overdone for resists and your way past Brute resist cap and I would of acc'd/hold for the EMP pulse, 2 rechg 2 end mod being minimum.

    Powersink would of had end mods from the moving of one of your slots going atleast 2 rechg 2 end mod as I am sure I can wait 2 secs for a better return in the bar.

    Health with another slot.

    Kick is slotted fine if you bury it.

    Single target attacks would generally be based around 2 acc 2 dam 1 end 1 rechg with any slight alterations to that format based on experience for me but the longest recharges 2 acc 2 dam 2 rechg as you have stamina and powersink.

    This is only a quickie of a look btw as i got to go out.
  9. 1) Know your enemy. Sometimes the answers to problems are not in your build but lie in theirs and its always good to know what to expect or remember from previous times. On newer enemies be progressive.

    2) Get to know the team. Sometimes the answers are not in your build but in theirs. In newer teams be progressive.

    3) Make sure they get to know you. You have a method to keep people from being critically injured and defeated aka getting debt to non RPers but that means nothing if the team are acting against any game mechanic you and the team can work to or around.

    4) Get to know the enemy before the enemy get to know the team. We tanking now

    5) Make sure the enemy know you before they know the team. Just because they saw you and run with the crowd doesn't mean they are looking for you. They have to be definately taunted/gauntleted.

    Number 1 is most important for AVs.

    I can anticipate that a Spines/DA wont beat a Invuln Tanker and that a Spines/Regen wont beat Invuln Tank with fight pool. Too many "man down the pub" generalising going on. I shall leave you all to it.

    Yeah Ice epic is nice, overall I would of managed to Tank whole game content with your build. I think permafrost is good for special IOs being a passive but IOs are new in since last time.

    I am a big fan of secondary effects so much so there is only so much damage sustainability in my builds but! Damage sustainability in PVP or PVE is great and you need varying levels of it depending on who you team with and how you play. Pls have a look at whats in my Sig.

    Gotta get an extra slot or 2 here somehow.

    The rest of the build looked from fine to great. The leadership toggles I would usually 2 end slot to keep in line with anything else togglewise but that would normally be on either a defender, controller and at a push..a stone tank but if its for PVP then i too had thought about it on a tank but a tank with TP self.

    use this for an IO Build

    I have way more hours spent in the 40+ areas than anyother other area of the game on most of my 40+ toons and I expect thats the same for a lot of people. So upto 35 its possibly less than half the game although I do think if solo, its painful unless you have a damage aura (coming from my Brute experiences although /SS is bad with foot stomp at 38).

    Seriously stop making comparisons that are not valid is beyond ridicilous. There is no such thing as "basic invul model" when we are talking PvP. We have a PvP spines/regen VS a PVP Invul/* If you want to test this bring your Spines/Regen in RV i ll put Ianroar who is an Invul/SS against your spines regen and let you there trying for as long as you like. There is no chance you ll score a kill.EVER.

    The fact that you PvPed when it it was initially introduced and just because you stepped in an arena match once maybe twice and in a zone couple times doesnt say anything to me or anyone else that PvP's on a daily basis since PvP was introduced in this game and pretty much can tell you how any given combo will perform against another one when it comes to PvP.

    Like i said talk is cheap you wanna make a point bring a spines/regen to RV i ll bring you an Invul and let em rip it till there is a kill. It wont happen. So either bring it or stop speculating about things that are not valid.

    Nothing I have said is without practical knowledge and nothing I have said isn't mathematically disprovable.The fact that you are confused about Geas in terms of its effect vs SR just tells me I would be arguing with someone not worth wasting words on. You can try to be someone your not and you can keep looking for me as much as you have been since I had replied to Fire Kittys guide, in comparison to before, but one thing you won't achieve, is in proving me wrong about a damn thing. I have 30 lvls to go to 50. The spines regen build "I do know" - no problems there. What I have stated, "exactly what I have stated" can be proven, but not what you or anyone else have added to what I have stated. Now that I have already held my hands up and gone back on my words about the Invuln/Ice as it will effect my DPS I don't see a problem. What I do see, is the difference between whose worth my time and who isn't.

    You probably never saw the fight go past the 10 minute mark. Many PVP Tankers will have things like presence pool, Aid self, fight pool but I will assume: Not all.

    A hasted Spines/Regen with 2 acc 3 dam and 1 end slot on 4 STs with stamina + QR + BER = energiser bunny running on a sometimes constant straight use of 4 attacks. In an unlimited toe to toe match with a pretty basic model of a Invuln defeat is inevitable. I have PVPed, I initially gave it a try when it first came out, with an SR of all things and as gutted as Hammerfall is about his Inv/Mace in PVP does anyone really think I was happy about my Claws/SR?     And Shannon, you obviously don't have a clue about PVP so I'd try avoid making laugh out of yourself tbh.

    "Due to losing" just hugely stupid sentence. Only kills count. I wonder when are they gonna change football so that other team is ruled the winner in 0-0 situation because "they were obviously winning".



    On the other hand, pvp melee characters who know what they are doing should pretty much always draw a match between themselves 0-0 unless someone makes a mistake. Brutes seem weaker than any other melee toon though..

    Aid self on a invul is pretty useful, I have it on my main.

    I actually find PVP duels lame. Rock Paper Scissors springs to mind and the general feelings among those into Rock Paper Scissors PVP comes down to this:

    Paper is what I am.

    Rocks are fine.

    Scissors need a nerf.

    Now I kid you not its not hard to PVP, I do not have any PVP builds.. I find the duels [censored], worthless wastes of time and have often said team PVP is where its at, base raids are great etc etc. Many find out what type of character they are fighting and then go buy the insps to suit or say I will go get my "" and I don't even pick up inspirations going in lol.

    My close to what I would call PVP toons are generally on Vigilance where I find the PVE game rather good

    You can have a basic Invuln build of SOs and you can even hasten your build as spines will be a -recharge type character then you can go toe to toe with my Spines/Regen (SO build only) when she is 50 for upto 20 mins and see what I am saying.

    If it said at first "I am not sure a scrapper can beat a PVP tank" then I would of been a little different depending on someones idea of a PVP build.

    In retrospect I am pretty sure that the -recharge from Ice melee added to such a build would make a difference and that a Spines/Regen probably wouldn't necessarily get a win within 20mins but an Invuln/Mace (without aid self or fight pool as that too would make a difference) should end up going down.

    All of this, that I have been saying doesn't refer to "nowadays" it refers to when this post began in the days of SOs so comments like:

    "No PvPers steps in zone with SO's.Your comparison is pretty useless here."

    ..are wasted and it wasn't me with the thread necromancy.
