Some peoples idea of a tanker is someone thats immortal allowing the rest of the team to shoot fish in a barrel.
The more damage you do the less time you spend getting hit.
The faster you have assumed taunt control for debuffs the less time you spend getting hit.
In a half decent team what they have to add inevitably in support often stacks with your build and in PVE only so much of anything is needed.
Sadly people complain about PuGs showing that despite the potential level of team survivability on offer its not what is shown.
Most people only play one AT, understand that roughly and possibly have slotted in ways that make min/maxxers squirm.
A tanker is meant to tank for itself and others, defenders are meant to defend for themselves and others...oh wait empaths heal aura doesn't count much.. the point I am getting at is that we are all supposed to offer each other various levels of support through the correct timing of the powers we have and the best dynamic we can offer.
A team can easily have a dynamic where only the tanker needs support but normally its tanker builds that virtually need no support in the middle of a team that needs the support.
You just don't get everything in a build and you just dont and shouldn't have one person making the team neither.
MMOs are supposed to make people team and socialize.
When you try to solo a tanker its hard only if you lack the damage output. If I see +3 Dark Ring Mistresses and I have to solo them and if I am in an 8 man team I have to rely on the team inevitably one way or another even if its their damage causing the fight duration to be shortened.
Not everyone compliments everyone else's play style as we all design ourselves to do things a certain way. Skranking as far as I am concerned is doing little in taunt control. Any tank who teams with 1 /sonic controller and one sonic defender can let go of their resists and tank. As long as their is an adequate amount of taunt control its what they are doing.
Anyway last I looked at your build you had more attacks than I do -
If you click on this line for information. you will see the list of combinations and that by not having nimble slice you can't do two of them.
Otherwise, practised brawler is a power thats recommended as soon as possible. If your held you not only can't attack butare stripped of your armours and so lack in defense. Practised Brawler simply 3 rechgd is fine if your worried that 2 rechg is too tight until you get haste which then you can go 2 rechg 1 end.
Aid self is a greater survivability tool than the passives to some people and they that first.
Only Typhoon and Blinding Feint would I have 2 recharges 2 dam and 2 acc for combo setting. The others would likely be 2 acc 3 dam 1 end. End in attacks slows how much your end drops by in a fight better whilst end in the toggles helps in how much your end increases better between fights. Blinding Feint certainly requires acc to be of any use because it has to hit a target.
3 def in elude is for PvP purposes I think and I just cant see DB holding up in PvP like the other sets. A build up would be a good start. -
Whose build did you adapt it from? I look at both power choices and slotting and squirm some but then I don't know your intentions. Mind Probe has a range of 5 feet. 5 feet? WTH am I doing there? Also as a Dom I builds dam and survivability with control and some ST controls may work out better DPS than some of the attacks in the Assault secondary. Mind probe wouldn't interest me.

You mentioned that it maybe challenging and are unsure that its a good choice. Apart from concept I can't think of any better reasons. Treat it as going where no ones gone yet and write the book on it as you go.
It has more dimensions to it to consider than most.
If I see you ingame the best I can do is come and leec *cough* watch and see where we can cut fight durations and maintain taunt control etc. -

I used your words to me as an example. I get it often. Its not the only one. People are available at different times, that is the way it is and to extend things I talk to people outside of the forums. They give me a rough idea of when to best say a time. One person may not want to do it at 9 am cos ti means they have to get up whilst another says no later than such and such. I could give a time and that doesnt mean ppl will show. I can move things about my schedule and so can 6 others only for 2 people just to wake up and roll back over thinking someone else can replace them. I may of spent almost everyday leading up to the date thinking about it only for nothing to happen.
1) I don't want it easily repeatable anywhere at anytime.
2) Since August things could of changed that most players might never notice. This means I'd rather test it all again.
3) I am not 100% sure about everything myself. Itll be a team effort and I want the right ppl (not from certain sgs).
4) What goes on tour stays on tour.
What I am doing and have done is shown some ppl some tricks, without going into the ingredients and told them not to say anything. I play 4/5 my tanks anonymously so nothing "special" is asked of me. A date to do this has me everyday leading to it; obsessing about it; going over things, over and over; with the what ifs and I'd rather age at a slower rate. Very important for is, is to have 7 scrappers not to leak a thing and when the words demorecord came up I thought "no way". I am happy with a few trusted friends knowing some tidbits. On heroes/villains I don't care what power sets are played. I care how they are played.
Indifference can meet indifference. If anyone wants to work out what I do, start by being selfless and take a taunt power. -
The dates previously picked by me were as a result of rounding dates down from people who said they were interested and gave details on most likely availableness.
I am interested in those who are actually interested in finding out how we are going to do this.
I am also interested in knowing what they can do.
I am not interested in any random people with just any motive.

Last "new person" to PM me was Uzzi. I discussed ways of doing things with Uzzi ingame and he sounded convinced we got this. Last person to discuss it with me was Nightmarer who can only do Sat or Sun iirc. I also have recently added Firekitty on one of my globals for it.
One would like to do it Sat Morning 9 am. No random pick ups. Now this is the least amount of time I have personally given. I wasn't the one who with just seeing 4-5 names decided that it 'looked' like things were on a Sun with 3 days left.
I am sick of the thread. Indifference meets Indifference. I am in 2 minds to forget it. It just is so and so would do it at this time and so and so would do at this time then a last minute pull out I do know about or a last minute pull out/no show I see on the day.
Know what forget it. I don't have time it anymore. -

Because I know what happens next. Its just a weekend like any other weekend. Its still a weekend at a time when not everyone can make it and one person who says they'll show will fail to. It will lead to postponement to postponement and a thread I get sick of looking at.
I have very recently just before xmas spoken to ppl on defiant to have my scrapper on a STF team that isn't going for the MoSTF and will allow me time to play with them again as its been ages. RV and Grandville are different. I expect certain key things to of not changed though but you never know and before bringing this up again I hoped to see the result of it. -

I couldn't put my level of damage before someone elses. A dead team mate is one no longer contributing let alone roleplaying-wise unwanted. Increasing the teams overall performance is better than tickling a enemy to defeat. I do pretty much like AoEs on a defender because I'd have a greater impact on the whole group of enemies more. Some defenders have whats called blasterlock. They tickle the enemy for a pittance level of damage whilst the heavy hitters fall around them. -

I could not generalize and say that maybe you barely fire it in the direction of one target or I could say that its current level of accuracy is too low. Whats the build your used to like? -

Look at your attack and debuff chain. What will it look like. How much damage will you deal, how much end will you lose and how much will you recover. Where can you increase overall damage output despite losing am attack power? Then move chance to heal slots into an Aid self power perhaps.
My TA actually has very few special IOs that I'd like to get as one doesn't want to be a jack of all trades and mistress of none. She is there for team support and not offense or soloability but that is my intention. You have to balance all of your intentions for yourself. -
Fistful of arrows is often a replacement for aimed shot. On single target your fistful does more damage than your aimed shot due to slotting. By not slotting damage so much in Aimed shot you have killed that attack some but not in terms of dps. Its saving grace is its recharge. Fistful is currently end discounted enough though to be a good ST attack as well as an AoE. Fire melee tanks when adding tough etc etc drop a heavy ST and turn an uneconomical for Single target AoE attack into an economical attack for both AoE and ST. But milking things down depends on how you plan to play.
Lets say each fight duration PVE is 20-30 secs. Time between mobs is 10 secs. You my start with a debuff chain. The team benefit from this as you improve on everything they do. Sometimes its offense first sometimes its defense first. Slots for Aid self can come from all the chances to heal. With the control you have your chances to have an uninterruptable aid self are far greater. Aid self is also a pseudo regen. Sure time for it lowers dps possibly essential dps (although with defenders doubtful) but your not reliant on 5% chances. Snapshot auto'd at full strength does more damage over time than the rest however your aim is not to tickle someone to defeat and so snap becomes a filler. However it will fill often and so should have good damage slotting. With your current damage slotting there is probably still room to increase your dps and even lose Aimed shot in the process. However a loss of aimed shot will effect your highburstness. Attack chain planning I find essential.
I do this:
First mob, 30 secs total, thats reaching them, fighting them. So lets say every 30 secs I repeat my debuff and then attack chain. Things recharge over 30, 60, 90 secs roughly. I have an idea of what my build endurance wise is going through whilst fighting and then recovering. How much I lose between fights and how much I recover. I can't be correct about every fight but I still need a model. Then there is my playstyle or wishful thinking team dynamic and then the looking for bonuses to fill in the gaps.
Your model comes from your typically on average experience, playstyle and intentions so whatever your final build can become cant be off my making. I just throwing ideas here.

Aid Self will also earn you the healing badge, you can then have something more reliable than chance to heals in attacks like dam slots. -

Bare in mind my TA ain't even 50 yet cos I left at a point until I can finish the type of journey to 50 I want to have.
Flash Arrow is non-resistable afaik. Its offers a greater base tohit debuff than maneuvers offers Defense. So rather than slot maneuvers for def I'd slot flash arrow for tohit debuff. Flash arrow however can miss in PvP.
Hasten will not only increase your debuff rate over time but your DPS slightly too and I wouldn't 3 end slot Assault. Too many slots for such paltry extra end reduction isn't worth it. I'd rather end slot something else or increase the recharge of Haste in order to defend at a faster pace with faster recharging oil slick, emp arrow and powerboost etc.
In the attacks I think some of the "chance of" are costing you more than benefitting. I'd always increase my damage per end before slotting them. Snap shots best one is the -13 end to target because it has a 1/4 chance of happening and you can snapshot often. You do spend 14.16 end tho to see the target lose 13 end. But how fast should everything normally drop? For me its the sooner the better and so I'd rather damage something than try to end drain it only for them to defeat me. In PvP if I could out last most people in order to see their end disappear I'd love it. I'd love it until my end disappeared XD as normally I'd of barely scratched them. The more end rec/survivability you have or the more end drain you do the better that proc probably is, on elecs for example. As a TA in PVP, a chance to Aid Self from the debuffs acting on people and staying at range shouldnt be too bad. I'd aid self for good heal and psuedo regen. Dam up the attacks and then have that end drain proc. The Mag 2 hold proc, which has a chance of for 8 secs don't seem worth it to me and that would be out.
Whirlwind the cossie change power has a chance for smashing damage in it so it must get used mustn't it? I'd love the new chance for rechg proc there or I'd rather go to suggestions and ask for a cossie change emote and take conserve power anyday. With running toggles and having new lower action time attacks I can see a need for stamina these days but that depends on who you team with and so conserve energy maybe an advisable back up.
Poison Gas Arrow, its autohit iirc so unless its for rechg and bonuses (which in your case it could be) Id forget any acc component in a IO and enhance it in other ways; sleep/end; sleep/range; maybe not necessarily sleep for teams; maybe sleep for solo; sleep detoggles some ppl in pvp and you wont need any durations for that. In fact scrub that. Forget what I just said. Make it near perma its such a good dam debuff, if you let it have down times for the sake of a little regen and +hp bonus then I don't think your ging to be doing yourself much of a favour. I'd rather keep a constant high dam debuff than have a little bit more hp and regen.
Any chances for heals, in any long recharge, I wouldn't go with and so likewise a Chance of Build up would be in my most frequently used attack. Probably snapshot.
Celerity in SS as flash and stealth I would think would stack to say your invis in pvp but I am not up on concealments.
The slot space taken up for the chance of 10 end in EMP would be better spent as a end IO in snap shot. Your end bar over time would be better off for it. EMP is too long a recharge for that kind of slot.
You seem very into regen, +endrec and +hp and so didn't get a near perma possibility of a -dam debuff that is PGA for them bonuses.
The longer you take to defeat an opponent the more attacks they can use against you and the more they hit you with the less that regen matters. The less damage you do per attack the more times you have to attack also.
This has been interesting for me as I have to look at my TA eventually and this has helped some.
TAs nowadays should definitely be less end friendly, this is because previously by the time the cast times of every debuff was thrown at a group the group could be too defeated for you to even start using an attack. You easily recovered end back over every long action time. Now by faster chaining you could probably chuck out debuffs and get to attack. A typical fight duration of 20 secs if thats roughly what your used could of been nothing but laying debuffs. -
I read your build as some who loves acid arrow and tactics perhaps for tohit * ACC in PvE and/or PvP
I could be wrong. Acid arrow and..and well it doesn't necessarily need much else to stack. Tactics therefore is to make up for a lack of acc anywhere and to bonus the teams attacks on those unaffected by acid arrow pve or for pvp. If PvP acc the power up.
Going with the powers you have and in estimating a feel from what I have come to expect I thought it was a little end heavy, a better end discount is nice without stamina "these days" particularly in the attacks and it lacked on recharge. However your experiences with your team make ups/friends may/will surely differ.
As a TA I like to be able to keep things at range, solo or teamed and it can and should be done. One is active in soft and hard defense/control and so melee wouldn't ideally happen; leaving AoE or ranged as a worry. My tanking strategy for a TA would be nothing new as a tanker as my biggest priority would undeniably still be you the defender and with your power sets keeping all things to you ranged. As a TA player I'd stay out of melee. In an ideal world of teaming your worry is in ranged attacks or an odd AoE.
The type of build I do have is a bit lenient on the player base in terms of me getting used to TA as well as them and if I can lay every debuff down on every group then I would. If I am over the top I wouldn't know. -

Well especially when it comes to powers like RegenA its nice to have the team close. That doesn't happen. Sometimes players that can do with it aren't helping themselves to ensure it and it all makes such a difference before an AV fight. Not all defenders are buff watchers and not all players watch their own buffs. Its a common mistake for a player to "after having survived a group so well with buffs to expect to survive another" only the buff went as they charged in.

This annoys me too. Cast times take up of having to do one thing can take up cast times of having to do another and so you can't do everything at once. Sometimes you have to allow time. I hate people asking for CM whilst everyone else needs healing all because they didn't pay attention to the buff calls. As any of my tanks I make the buff calls for the defenders who seemingly forget or play to heal etc. Last night as my scrapper I called for a buff up XD . -

The is no Knockdown in the claws set. Only Knockback. Most people who play the game well know this though.
