  1. My scrapper had enforcer gloves with widow blades coming out of them. I think it looks cool anyway and I can't see myself doing anything else.

As a /Regen with Stamina and Quick Recovery fully slotted he is fully capable of keeping Focused Accuracy running permanently. No point fiddling with turning it off and on all the time unless you already have an Endurance hungry build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

End drain is 0,97 eps and end rec is 3,46 eps. The gap is 2,49 eps. The end per action time of an attack like Lotus Drops is 6,5 eps. 6,5 endcost per sec - 2,49 end rec per sec (toggles accounted for) is 4,01 eps loss. Golden dragon fly is 5,95. 5,95 - 2,49 = 3,36 eps lost. In the lowest end cost attack 6.03 with the longest action time you get 4,37/2,17 = 2,01 eps the gap is 2,49 and 2,49 - 2,01 = 0,48 'end gain' which is good. All the rest are in between though and likely have some end loss. So even so with this build, all toggles on, without stopping I will eventually lose end over several attack chains. Unless your end per second of every animation time meets end rec or it is less than end rec you will lose end when constantly attacking. When I play my SR scrapper I get to a point near the end of a whole mission where I am hitting conserve energy with end instead of rechg in attacks and quickness instead of QR. Looking at the gap between consecutive attack chain eps + toggles and end rec; if I played this build I would probably hit Conserve too. We will vary in mileage however mainly due to the pace we move at. The key point I was making is : you don't need foc acc on all the time. When fighting Rikti for example, its pretty much "Your a drone, on. Your not a drone, off". When doing that he may find the only reason to get conserve is maybe versus end drain in pve or pvp.

Aside from all that I had said:

"I don't care about the end drain on anything but foc acc, slot it".

Then referred to one of my scrapper who can't have QR. So in no way was I implying he needed to turn it on and off. Only he didn't need it on all the time.

Eviscerate can hit 5 but don't bother on less than 2 who are in a fairly straight queue in front of you.

This is something I have to disagree with, while it is theoretically efficient, it's also practically neglectful of what will be your most potent attack.
Evicerate is the largest chunk of damage a Claws Scrapper can hit a target with and it has a higher chance of causing a critical hit than any other Claws attack.

As for single target attack chains I find:
Focus > Slash > Follow Up > Strike > Focus
seems to work well. You get to keep most foes on their back this way and that reduces their ability to hit back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Focus > Slash > Follow Up > Strike > Focus

Thats not a lot different to however you order it especially when it comes to IOs. It also leaves out Eviscerate on a single target which as I am saying, I would too, because eviscerate will lower the damage per second done over that chain. I'd normally save eviscerate when there is more than one despite the small extra chance to critical unless that level of damage is all I need for a finish and anything better is on recharge. I can't see how your actually disagreeing with me at all.

Edit: I get it I said Swipe and Strike. I meant Strike and Slash. I didnt mean to write swipe as its something people drop. It was just a freudian slip.

    Strike and Slash cast times are 1.17 + 1.33 = 2.5 secs

lets say thats 121.9 + 161 damage in 2.5 secs with 3 SOs in each attack and so that equals 282.9 damage in 2.5 secs = 113.16 dps

    Eviscerate does 207.3 dam 3 SOs in 2.17 secs = 95.52 dps

    People choose 113.16dps over 95.52dps.
  4. I thought the slotting in integration "interesting" and thought the slotting in air sup "lacking" mainly. If Air sup is used a lot and I do know that it is a popular power then slot it. I don't care about the end drain on anything but foc acc slot it. Foc Acc to recharge or not that is the question. Whilst having it on my scrapper I turned it on and off when necessary and unnecessary and its much better used that way.
  5. Doms are squishy!!!

But with different mixtures of powersets as said you have different playstyles..

I play my plant thorns like a spines scrapper and die a lot

    But i don't care

I may out pace the team and after dying make things more challenging for them

    But i don't care

As my others I try to be sensible as your survival can depend on whats and whens on who from where.

Mass immobs are fine on foes tight around a brute. In fact that applies to most AoEs that can win you aggro if you miss. They are also fine when you can be a blocked target to all but one, the one that you work on. I often try to contain more than one at a time myself. Its like tanking tab attack, tab attack, tab attack, I basically try to mess with the whole group rather than focus on any.

Slot up the hold asap for soloing, you want that one not missing and fast recharging. You should ideally perma hold 2 with it asap.

I think your grav control from what you were saying and not mind control.

taunted/pulled 3 +6 mobs for a team.and was the only one to walk away alive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seeing as they were +6 thats forgive-able. I have had team wipes on me. Its not nice. Its never happened when I said ready though

I do love your enthusiasm and your positivity with the set. It makes me feel sure you know what your doing. I feel its a great set. I have played all ATs at 36 although not for teams as it was on test but was left feeling as though it will do for tanking with an interesting edge. I made one live but like my scrapper haven't played them enough yet to even earn a cape.
  7. The thing with eviscerate is the amount of damage you do in its cast time is less than what you can do in that time with both swipe and strike. So some people don't like it on a single target. The best ST attack chain they could get is without it. The damage per endurance is lower than the ST attacks but I kept using it as a filler. I used to also use it with combat kick on anything. It looked great anyway and it made my character look cool to me. Yes sometimes that highburst moment that you would get from it, that you wont have/be able to from other attacks is valuable.

    All Scrapper STF

I decided to leave it. I was morally concerned by it in a way and hated the days running up to it on test. I hated trying to get everyone available in one place and I was selective on who I'd want to see what it is I'd be doing and in who has the problem solving skills in overcoming what needs to be worked out. People who have done TFs have had people say "right thanks for the XP I have levelled now so I am off" or "cheers all my debt is paid off" or in cavern trials "which cave is mine again?" (fight thru) or "how do I click the stone?". I don't have time for that with pick ups and the techniques used I wanted secure.

A few trusted friends (defiant or union) have seen me do different tidbits of things they ain't never seen before ( and explained a couple of things to Sitriel once on zukunft). Its because most people don't stop and think outside of any boxes and go directly into key mash mode or lack time played that they haven't seen what it is I show them.

Can an invuln scrapper tank a Mother Mayhem with just a TA for support? Yes they can. If people "go how?" then "good" for they have something to find out for themselves. Thats why I wanted no demo record (if you read back through the history it frightened me off). You can overcome more by not thinking what you can do but instead in what the team can do. You must of noticed that a lot of what goes on in game is not stop and think use your power with my power and then I'll keep using this power its run in and mash keys and then someone says "right I'll get my 'insert higher level here'" or "we need a healer".

For this thread to keep on going is just necromancy.
  10. SRs benefit from quickness. Its is not just a buff to run speed and a resistance to slow you get a recharge buff.

Regens benefit from quick recovery it buffs endurance.

So when slotting attacks a claws/SR maybe 2 acc 3 dam and 1 end where as claws regen maybe a 2 acc 3 dam 1 recharge and then be similar during a fight duration.

An ideal claws single target attack chain iirc is something like:

    1) Follow up
    2) Strike
    3) Slash
    4) Focus

The total time for that attack chain 5.66 and making it repeatable should be easily and best achieved with IOs later. Whilst SO'd some people have air sup in there which is wicked and 100% advised by me. Even when you get IOs later it maybe staple for its knockdown.

Swipe is a dps power for low repeatable DoT which naturally can keep people attacking on low end in the early levels. Many people respec it out later if its taken.

Follow up is noticeably more beneficial looking in the lower levels than later as it buffs base damage and not base damage plus enhancement buffs. The tohit is small and during its use I like to make it not lower dps and so avoid slotting tohit buffs once 2 acc slotted in single target attacks.

Spin, Eviscerate and Shockwave aren't for single targets as they are AoEs. Using them on a single target is wasting endurance unless you have more than 1 end reduction which is unadvised by me. On more than 1 target though you will be saving endurance using spin or shockwave than strike or follow up, Eviscerate on 2 remaining targets saves more endurance than anything else. The more dam per end you do the less end you need to use. I rather 1-2 acc 3 dam 1-2 rechg them and avoid using them on a single target.

Spin and Shockwave hit 10 don't bother on less than 2. Eviscerate can hit 5 but don't bother on less than 2 who are in a fairly straight queue in front of you.

As a claws/SR myself I swear by aid self.

A really good and well updated character builder is here:

    Dodge?

This could of carried on in that other thread but no matter. What is the current build plan? I dislike the idea of losing any passive personally. If an attack chain can consist of less attacks then thats what I'd do although losing essential situational attacks hurts my gaming too.
  14. Tell me, please, is this build any good?

<QR> It doesn't look good to me.
  15. I'd recommend willpower. Many would with fight pool and stamina included. You won't necessarily be let down but its not regen. If you liked regen for its self res for example yes you get one
  16. New Dawn

    All Scrapper STF

Its not going to happen. The levels of quality, quantity and qualm mismatched.

Pointless self name dropping and unconstructive posts that show one hasn't read the whole thread is therefore wasteful.
  17. Not in reply to anyone directly:

Tanking is about taunt control. Few get properly into taunt control. Taunt controlling is rather selfless and out of selflessness can come survivability because with it sometimes even half the shields you have are more than enough (thats why scrappers can tank almost any AV as well). Teams as always, are expected to have to try to work together.

People have to gain experience. I just throw books at those that don't care for strategies.
  18. Starting to look like mine for number of attacks XD.

Don't always get time to attack with the amount of debuffing going on. I did think with the new lower cast times the endurance used versus the endurance gained will effect stamina with the more time to spam attacks its a given. On occasion I ran out of end stamina-less but often I had left fly on too long whilst acting and thought about conserve energy at 41 (she is still 39 and has been for over a year).
  19. Your resistance to smash and lethal looks capped when you have unstoppable running. Take that off and its near 50%. The chosen slotting in Temp Invuln is not giving you maximum resistance from it, its near Firetank level.

I would if I were you go thru it and make every def and resist power off about 57% more than base then ask for help.
  20. Well i have said all I was going to say, I said a few points that can be taken or left and you have had time to think so if thats what you feel is A ok then go for it. My TA is pretty much planned for standard IOs almost completely because I look at bonuses and think do they really matter and also at what my intentions are.
  21. If your going to spend time in melee then Aid self is useful (when your not caught by a mezz aoe on a brute or something pre perma domination). Having to Aid self takes seconds that will have a counter effect on dps. I have not seen many/any melee doms without aid self.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Actully, my point was that a pure breed Tanker is a team player but since teams these days seems few and far between then will solo oriented scrankers take over as the most common AT build?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do see solo orientated tanks made for pvp. I think its poo. Tanking with brutes is easy, I had a rad corrupter add me to his global cos he was happy a few days ago. He could debuff a lot more foes in a single debuff and we could AoE the hell out of them defeating them all faster than the one by one scenario. Before he'd debuff and get aggro whilst a brute with an aura would be working on another foe. As my domie in villains I often end up thinking "whose doin the tanking here?" So all things played well within a team with a less survivable AT than a Tanker you can tank fine. Any solo orientated Tanker is almost of less to less use than a scrapper to support sets of a team. As my blaster I have to lower my DPS to control what aggro I get.
  23. I don't have it but there are plenty of times I could of used it. Mainly when I couldn't repair or heal..may as well.

Traps owns. It has a lot to cripple a fight duration with.
  24. I think its fairly typical to what most people are going for. Not everyone does due to wanting something wacky in survival. RttC on a Brute is not necessarily just there to gain attention and help build fury but also to help keep squishies safer and helps keep foes in debuff areas etc and with dual blade AoEs I would want to herd.

    Respecification.

You can earn respecs 3 times and get given them. When you respec you have a choice to put enhancements back or sell them. Only 10 can go into a clear enhancement tray.
