  2. Lets say Fire Brute has a life expectancy of 15 secs against a Fire Tanks life expectancy of 20 secs against a theoretical group type A. In that kill or be killed situation ya simply gonna need to do more damage (if not then some control) as a Brute.

    Trick is, in those situations where ya seem to recall that ya had oh about 5 secs of life expectancy if that...did ya really need to go about that group how ya did? Did so and so in the team have to try to do the job of another AT or was anyone looking to defy game mechanics?

    The important thing would be to not care, (unless someone else is always tasting carpet) and RotP! Slot it, love it and use it..fun just goes on and on.

    Basically you want to know if its better to floor recharge in order to get in enough damage before the obstacle does and win or go in and do outright damage. I vote on damage.

  5. In going into groups I sometimes aim to alpha them instead or I make a pull to have them come to me so they attack me at different moments.
  6. What attacks do you have and how do you enter groups? Is it Fault, Tremor then Seismic or what?

    More a general point about the differences between farming and missioning builds. The OP doesn't like ST mezzes which for a non-farming build is daft. IMO.

    Farm builds can range due to whoever else is on a farm team. I could consider PvP builds to basically look like anything.

    Mixing them for the sake of it won't spoil my immersion just as having pets and more powers won't neither so everyone can have my permission to take what they like

    When I saw a named NPC character called Snow Girl dishing out Fire Manipulation my immersion was soiled anyway.
  9. I could go from always patiently allowing for certain things first; to either setting up the next group; or taking one for the team or planting for the sheer hell of it.

    If you see some idiot do something that could compromise you stand back and watch. If you can offer buffs without compromising yourself or others please do. On some scrappers I have whats called a taunt aura and yes whilst the Tank can be seen concentrating on their priorities I might go set the next group up and still be leading in dps.

    I tend to overly die a lot on self res toons, its unphasing as its all part of their concept. Given a choice between saving me and someone else, I hope the one who can't self res is saved.

    Exactly. Kill Rom 4 times, get 4 rewards. Kill The Nictus, no Reward except for one Rom defeat. Hmmm Maths aint my strong point, but Isn't 4 usually more than 1?

    Thats true. I do however see things from the point of view of keeping fellow "heroes" safe as a greater priority as I am part RP.

    I guess sometimes, it'll be better for some teams/people for whatever reason to drop Rom 4 times or drop one Nictus and then Rom 3 times and so on. Particularly team make ups, time and values could come into what people have/want to do.
  11. The DA heal doesn't come under Def vs Res. Yes there is a time delay but you are a resistance set with control capabilities. Different sets suit different intentions.

    Okay putting these 2 sentences together, sometimes its better to 5 slot sets with one of the slots being a chance for. The one enhancement thats being left out could be say an enhancemenent that gives damage that only gets taken by ED away and offered you recharge you don't need.

    Otherwise your not alone in your ways.
  14. Once a match up has proven one sided and one person has been left deprived of all hope, further not mutually desired matches is grieving.

    I will use the environment to defend myself and that means all NPCs within it. To win zones, when playing them for what they are, NPCs can play an important part anyway.

  18. You say not the AT and I don't come from other games so my idea of a Tanker does not come from other games. What I would be capable of as a Tank and as a MM differ. Tne MM is a better choice depending on different factors like powersets etc. Can the MM keep aggro in a long fight? I do see MMs as a good choice for the "first in there" bit but then after that comes the Brute. The Tank is a good choice for both. I can't guarantee a MM holding aggro like a Brute or Tank and I can't see an MM redirecting placement and line of fire as well or even when it comes to limiting what the AVs can attack with and by not having those flexibilities makes the MM in "general" fall short for me. When I speak of MMs or Brutes I don't assume certain powersets as I have a Ninja/TA

    Done this twice and both times just pulled the healer away from Romulus, Healer does no damage so can be 'tanked' be anything that does damage. First time I kept the healer busy on my blaster for the whole fight. Key we found was not to taunt/gauntlet with an AoE at the start of the fight or the Healer becomes agroed to the tank with Romulous.

    I haven't yet started the Wolf Spider up yet but I would imagine there can be several types. I'd be either aiming for Huntsman with all Crab Pets and/or possibly a Tac OPs with Surveillance and Reinforcements. The Huntsmen with Rifle attacks and the Tac Ops with the Mace. The Tac ops is not so much executioner like because they have all the ranged mace attacks, team buffs and have to live without stealth and placate. I know its nice to go without the Bane or Crab stuff but not the pets!!

    So, Fortunatas.

    I decided on haste and superspeed and pretty early on too. Get every power recharged asap and well go places at the cost of one extra power slot. No patrons at all for me as I think everything because barring fitness pool everything else I need is already right there.

    <--insane 5 VEATs on the go already.
  24. I'd of taken and slotted earths embrace sooner to tanker sooner using schedule A enhancements and hasten it. Rock Amour early but not worth slotting till you can put DOs in it as its schedule B. Mudpots early so I can..er..tank, I find gauntlet weak. Taunt a lot more slotted for flexibilities sake but I always only let people work out what I mean by that for themselves but in short "stop giving a toot about whose supporting you versus AVs". The above advice is about right too but I will say if you end slotted your attacks and team tanked out of the cradle stamina could come later. I add an end slot to icepatch myself as it is basically part of an attack chain. Slows in Rooted? Not sure but I like to hurt things, get 10 in the mudpots even when solo and level faster. Stoneskin not much resistance on or gained from slotting it, most settle for one res slot and tbh I think its enough from start to finish. 3 SO slotted Swift oh yes but all in all from the moment you want to put in IOs I'd think in IOs, cost-wise I think from 30 on for me. Def can be put in granite but ya prolly noticed that.
  25. I have to occasionally remind myself why I keep Sonic Repulsion. Normally in teams its to keep who shouldn't be melee not in melee when needed; or a last minute attempt to save someone in over their head; or the putting on some npc that has to be saved or its for when I get my pet out, on it goes and I stand next to her and for which it's priceless. Possibly the least desirable power in the set, you can put it on people and see if they can cause a knock up in a confined area but 99/100 they won't. Avoid putting t on certain sets that gain buffs from targets or rely on small pbaoes or aoes, the range is 70 ft and I have recently found out just how far people can go before it automatically clicks itself off...too sodding far. A hard one to remember to take off at times.
