I'll explain. I did this when a team I was Tanking for told me I was stupid for not having Taunt, and that I was supposed to just soak up damage and taunt things - Tankers aren't supposed to attack...

    It's meant as a joke.

My character is Inv/SS, so I just went with that again. Will does have a good rep though it's weaker at aggro control.
The best team tanker will have taunt.

The game is balanced in the tankers with taunt, favour.
  2. I agree on Build up although Stun is still a good tool to have and think an extra slot for BU can be found.
  3. I took Nintova's and made it soft capped to all but Psi, slightly higher psionic defense ¬

Regen is lower but the HP cap is met meaning the health points per sec is the same b

Despite this it's not immortal so I gave it more control bd

The price to pay was dpe and some DPS in the Stomp p

It's really that flexible I might have to make it c[]3
  4. Relying on a single Rad or Kin it can pay for a Brute to play like a Tanker, doing enough to maximize AoEs but I wouldn't call such teams typical.
  5. Defense is probably the best thing.
  6. Have to say well done on keeping track so well Golden Ace, it's a shame I didn't get to this game sooner as Avatea would of lasted. Also if there was a bigger fight to keep War Witch alive then I am sure I would of had reinforcements in the wings aka the European Lounge.

Does your build differ from this much?

    Confront?

More can come but they will come looking for anyone. As they get near those untaunted ones may perception check a friend. This is why when tanks taunt pull they like the team back, allowing all mobs to get to him so he can control them.
  9. Ideally most would go for damage type defense, I changed your build by changing what some slots are and left some empty for you to play with and make your own decisions on. It's good practise. If someone else comes up with a build you don't have to finish then thats okay as I only lost about 2 mins of my time.

    Edit: resent with data chunk

  10. Your DPE will lower running assault but the rest of the team should be cool with it. Also its great taunt and placate res. Tactics can be used for a IO set and give you res to confuse and fear, but when it comes to perception Glacial Armour should be alright, cheaper to run than foc acc and benefits team.

Your survivability can be enough without fight pool but you maybe happier with than without. Some suggestions are best made with an idea on how the rest of your build is or you could try the concept you prefer.

I'd generally not think of looking at leaderships on Ice though.

Yes but where does it say the OP is looking for an exemp build? It doesn't so a lvl up build maybe the thing or the suggestion that the OP may want to take their armours early in leveling up to tank to their satisfaction.

Both yours and Heracleas are just as playable to me, well at 50, although I would do something different myself. I play WP/DB anyway. I can't help but notice that you differ with taking toggles early to the point of including tough.

I've built a small army of tankers, scrappers, and brutes running Willpower that all were made with Stamina before toggles. They were adequately tough in the teen levels without that extra toggle.

Super Strength is somewhat of an exception. You do want KO Blow at 20. So I have to put off Stamina to 26 to work it in.
Considering that you are to me on your own in doing that other than soloer's then it is a fair comment for me to make possibly for the OPs sake. I honestly find tanking in PuGs asap more fun. The fewer attacks I have the more it compels me to tank for a full team and properly force multiply. So .21eps is not fair for 20% base S/L/P res? I do Willpower without Stamina as well as I feel that it is potentially over rated when you already have QR and that's especially so if you have too few attacks to really be getting along with. If your happy with your build then that is all that really matters, I'd be wrong in telling anyone what they need.

Add in a weak taunt aura and Scrappers can pseudo tank. If a Tanker doesn't Taunt, Invuln/Shield Scrappers will out threat them given enough time. I did it all the time on my Invuln Scrapper vs Invuln and Stone Tanks (this was before we knew how taunt worked, mind you.)

Personally, I find holding aggro off other taunt capable characters to be fun - it's part of the challenge of tanking. Besides that, it makes me a better Tank in knowing how to push the character to the limit. (I do feel bad for Brutes I team with sometimes, though. :P)
My stance on that was mentioned earlier.

Your going to be low on the threat ladder compared to others at times but these others tend to be tanks, brutes and scrappers of which you don't really have to concern yourself about.
There can be moments when those of said other Tanks (never share a team with me), Brutes and Scrappers will have to turn their toggles off or compromise the survivability of the team. Hell I think I can come up with moments where it maybe worth "scrappers" turning their damage down a tad even without a taunt aura or debuff or control effects but I have more to test still.

  20. I just remember Circeus' taunt guide being good at the time, at least I can't see how the wording can really throw anyone. I can provide more information but I think the section should be helping to get people from A to B like it does and not A to C like it doesn't which is good. People can get from B to C off their own backs. Giving everyone a chance to work new stuff out for themselves atleast then leaves them the ability to claim to not of had everything handed to them on a plate and be a complete product of someone else. I certainly ain't.

  22. I couldn't be leaving Mind over Body until 22. When it could be in by 16 so easily, although not that late neither, 10 or 12 would be the latest. It's nice to actually exemp and perform as best I think. Heightened Senses in before Moonfire's max level as well but then I'd want to be with it for Synapse.
