it was part of the severance package that the Cryptic logo stays on the game.
-
five star thread title.
*thumbsup* -

Should I do it?

how is this even a question?
curiosity demands satisfaction! -
1: Wings
so cool.
2: Sands of Mu
singlehandedly make the low levels almost worth playing through.
3: base teleporter
so handy.
4: pet
they're so friendly and they keep me company when I solo.
5: assorted costume bits and pieces not including wings.
I use some of them quite a bit. -

Unless it turns out that the "Other Game" is actually good.
[/ QUOTE ]
good luck with that.
I mean it'd be nice, because it would keep the locals honest, but....yeah. -

100% of posts in this thread criticizing someone for being wrong about the size of Rush Limbaugh's audience are stupid.
The difference between the real numbers and the "off the top of my head" numbers he used was meaningless, as both sets of figures support his claim that Rush is successful.
You can dwell on the numbers, but you just look petty and dumb as you do so, imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, let's say I do an experiment, say street sweeping DA, to prove some point...like, you can make a lot of inf doing it.
So I do it, and I make some inf.
But when I post the thread here, I inflate my numbers by, like, 5000%.
While my main point is still valid (I hit DA, I made some inf) the way I present my point (by lying and inflating my results) calls my credibility and judgement into question and undermines my argument.
I don't pay attention to people who don't know what they're talking about, who don't care about accuracy, who lie in the service of their position. Which is why I've got AF on ignore.
YMMV. -
[ QUOTE ]
His point was that Rush is a successful radio talent(number 1). Everyone ignored that part to focus on incorrect numbers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nobody's saying he isn't successful.
They're pointing out gross distortions of reality intended to make the point look more grandiose than it is.
As this is standard operating proceedure for AF (well, except for the part where his underlying claim is accurate- that's a new wrinkle), calling him out for it is a useful public service. -

This is the reason farming is bad for the game- people start thinking that the game's all about farming, and have trouble being convinced otherwise.
[/ QUOTE ]
only if they're stupid.
and stupid people have trouble with many concepts.
also, these forums need another whiny holier than thou anti-farm thread like Lincoln needs an extra bullet in his brain. -

Wrong. He never said no more nerfs.

And he did not have sexual relations with that woman, either.
*rolleyes* -

And I quit for a while because of choices Matt Miller and others made, what's that prove exactly?
[/ QUOTE ]
They're equally prone to terrible decisions?
I'll say this for him, Statesman wasn't stupid enough to implement a program of retroactive bans for undefined 'crimes'.
[ QUOTE ]
Jack wasn't that bad, but he's the man many love to hate. I'm sure he's losing sleep over all the hate here.
[/ QUOTE ]
I doubt it. His complete inability to process the opinions of others was one of his main failings. -
He was a martyr for free expression.
VIVA JRANGER! -

to the OP:
that is sweet, but kinda small gaming, imo.
Try to corner hi end, it wont be that easy.
[/ QUOTE ]
in my experience the 'rarity' of an item has no influence on it's 'cornerability', the only thing that matters is how much incoming supply you have to deal with.
I have a feeling tickets have made Uncommon salvage a special case the last few weeks- supply is in the gutter, but it doesn't cost many tickets so when most people see 100k or whatever they either pay it, or hit MA to pick one up.
Pre tickets uncommons were really hard to do anything with, supply was soooo much higher than demand. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The amount of people who quit because the AE farms were fixed is absolutely minuscule compared to the amount who would have quit if the exploits were not fixed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except that isn't the issue.
Nobody's quitting because "the farms were fixed", or at least no one rational.
The concern for many of us is the new policy of retroactive bans for unspecified behavior. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, he fixed your broken game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually he made me quit for quite a while, and it doesn't get more 'broke' than that.
But keep spouting nonsense, it suits you. -

EDIT - NM, I see it. I had posts deleted in another thread without that notification (posts that I don't think were nearly as bad as the stuff being slung in this thread, btw!)
[/ QUOTE ]
welcome to the wonderful world of arbitrary enforcement!
I've had posts that even made me blush live long fruitful lives, while other completely innocuous ones were sent to feed the forum monster.
From years of first-hand observation I've noticed that directing a barbed post at a fellow forumite who prefers to handle their own business, Evil Ryu for example, will garner no rebuke.
Direct a much milder post at a thin-skinned type who's preferred method of discourse is tattling to Daddy and *poof*, things tend to vanish. -
[ QUOTE ]
All the people who see Jack as "bad" have their reasons, but it's only rationalization for the way primate brains work.
[/ QUOTE ]
Primates don't like lying backstabbers either?
Huh, ain't evolution wonderful. -
I just have a shortcut to my screenshots folder on the desktop.
<<< geek loser

You guys do know that Moderator 08 has deleted some posts in this thread, right? You're not going totally unnoticed.

Yay!
They like us, they really like us! -

I'm a little surprised we didn't manage to derail the thread into space the mods would have to intervene on in terms of political discussion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm surprised my peanut gallery post about his, ah, habits didn't draw fire.
I guess they just don't love us like they do the general forum.

I notice that 1-DO-ACC-slotted Transfusion simply *does not* hit orange-title NPCs. It seems to have at least a 50% miss-rate with yellow-titles. For as much End as it costs to run it, this is an infuriatingly high miss-rate and I admit to being extremely displeased about it. Eventually it will have three ACCs - just as soon as I have everything three END-slotted. At level 12 this seems extremely far away.
[/ QUOTE ]
Two acc's is enough. It's also a good candidate for Frankenslotting.
They key at the lower levels, before you get it slotted up, is target the weakest thing you can find. You'll hit minions a lot more easily than lieutenants or bosses. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have a feeling Jack's emotions aren't that fragile either.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, you mean he's not moved to tears by the multiple paragraphs of deathless prose I've composed to his downfall over the years?
*weeps* -
this happened to me the other day.
I had some bids out on generic IOs for my new brute and the entire 'last 5' had filled below my price without satisfying my desires.
I got 'em the next day, but it was the first time I'd seen that kind of thing firsthand. -
Squez speaks truth.
It also worked great for my axe/fire tank. -
It's great when drug abuse-induced deafness and sex vacations to one of the world capitals of child prostitution with a bag full of illegally prescribed Viagra is defined as "success".
