I've interpreted Posi's past merger comments to mean that he continues to be cautious on implementing any changes, b/c once done, such changes cannot be undone.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's always been a cop-out excuse.
Back the system up if you're so worried about it.
Maybe they don't want to make that effort, but I refuse to believe it's impossible.
Also, the MA gold rush had at least as violent an impact on the market as a merger would, so that excuse doesn't fly anymore either. -
I've occasionally added digits, but never for anything expensive.
Anything over 10 million I double check before clicking. -
[ QUOTE ]
Publisizing this information will probably lead to an decrease in the drop rate.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like the devs care about one dudes drop rate when they can sift and sort numbers from the whole game at will?
C'mon now. -
[ QUOTE ]
On other hand, 0 for sale with 0 outstanding bids means that there is no demand for the item and so the value is probably fine where it is.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not necessarily, especially red-side.
I'll list recipes with 0 bids, if it seems 'good' to me based on type and bonuses. And I've sold plenty for some decent profits.
I mean it's not a great sign, but it isn't a death sentence either. -

Aaaaaaaaand another fool and his money are soon parted.
Just because someone actually bought it, doesn't make your asking price any less ridiculous... it just makes them dumb
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, neither of you have enough evidence to draw conclusions. One transaction is not statistically significant. Maybe the price was ridiculous and a lunatic happened to come along or maybe it was reasonable and multiple buyers were competing for it.
The OP's transaction might have been luck or shrewd marketeering. There's no way to tell. Actually, there is. Watch that item over the course of time. But one transaction tells us nothing.
[/ QUOTE ]
0 for sale, sold overnight?
I'd consider that sale a strong indicator.
Anything with 0 for sale is undervalued, whatever the 'going rate' is....an insight that's earned me vast piles of inf. -
I wish they'd hire somebody who knows which end of an interface is up one of these days.
The fact that we're here cheering the return of LINE BREAKS should make the devs avert their gazes in embarrassment. -
somebody gave me a bunch of really good recipes a while back during the height of TicketMania(tm).
I thought it was one of those 'trying to drag them onto Wentworth's person but hit a player instead' deals and asked them if they wanted 'em back, but they didn't.
I said thanks and left them to marinade for a while. -
[ QUOTE ]
Its also freaking play money.
[/ QUOTE ]
That too.

Just because someone actually bought it, doesn't make your asking price any less ridiculous...
[/ QUOTE ]
yes it does.
a price realized defines the value of the item.
The fact that it sold so quickly implies the asking price was still below 'real' market value, i/e what people are willing to pay. -
in-game email spam is only marginally more annoying than real-world email spam, which isn't very.
I'd appreciate a better interface, one that allowed deletion of multiple items at once, but I'm not holding my breath.
this game just doesn't do useful, functional interfaces. -

You're not even trying are you? At LEAST follow the rules if you're going to insult me. It's funnier and more clever that way.
[/ QUOTE ]
you get no more effort than you've earned. -
[ QUOTE ]
Nethergoat's paranoia aside, this is what we need more of. Get people to stop mindlessly farming by showing them something they enjoy more.
[/ QUOTE ]
A positive interaction with a friendly, accepting fellow player is great for the health of the game. But they could just as easily have gotten a lecture from one of our local playstyle scolds.
This makes me "paranoid" how, exactly? -
[ QUOTE ]
...that the AE building in the RWZ seems really out of place? I mean, it's a freaking war zone. Not the best place to set up a new business, you know?
[/ QUOTE ]
war zones are traditionally high-profit locations for those with the fortitude to stay open. -
[ QUOTE ]
both they and the equely self righteous anti-authority "fight the power" brigade have had their representatives out, fortunately this thread is not about that idiocy, but just helping another player, which is a fine activity.
[/ QUOTE ]
not according to certain respondents in this thread, who feel those who don't play 'the right way' should be shunned. -
I wouldn't kick new map textures out of the sack, but I'd much prefer that energy go toward fresher, more interactive types of missions.
I hardly notice mission maps, except for the ones I hate (oranbega, layer cake cave room). -

. I also thought the level 35 limit would help moderate any "upheavals", but you're right, that's not much of an actual limit.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not really seeing how keeping lower level characters out of the merger market (which I'm against) would have any "positive" effect - especially since a large share of the marketing abuse/manipulation behavior comes from level 50's.
[/ QUOTE ]
Using a system as designed isn't "abuse" my deeply confused friend.
And I for one do very little abusing/manipulating/baby sacrificing with my 50's, my main marketeers are all lower level. -
guide prices are mostly wishful thinking.
stuff is worth what people will pay for it.
I collected the titles I liked. Years later when I cashed them out I got higher than 'guide' because I'd happened into stuff people loved- Clairmont/Byrne/Austin X-Men, Moore/Bissette Swamp Thing, Miller Daredevil, etc etc.
I'm sure it helped that I was a comic nut during a golden age, but I loved all my stuff and would have been happy to keep it.
Buy stuff you love, then you won't be mad if it turns out to be worthless. -

He's lucky he ran into you instead of the local chapter of Purity Watch, a spin-off of the Kontent Kops.

*facepalm*

What, are you trying to pretend self-righteous anti-PL morality police don't exist?
I see some in this very thread. -

I'm a market idiot, but wouldn't level locking the ability to access both markets just cause more instability redside?

don't pay any attention to Tripp, he only makes sense on accident. -

I like them too, but they don't suit all characters. It will be great if I can get Darkspeed to have a black glow surrounding his hands for Hasten and a trail of shadows for superspeed. Similarly, my Bane Spider will look much better without any effect on Hasten at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
given their historic insistence that every power have a visual component, I doubt we'll be able to turn anything 'off'.
And I expect fairly stringent limitations on how inconspicuous we can make things.
Still, it'll be a lot of fun to mess around with. -
I'd list it at the break point between the highest 'last 5' sale and 200.
I/e, the price at which an impatient buyer will give up bid creeping and go straight to 200. -
[ QUOTE ]
D) Sell for 5 million to set a trend.
[/ QUOTE ]
Alas, you can't stop people from bidding more than you want them to. The only 'trend' you could start is a higher price floor.
35 bidding and 0 for sale says to me it's undervalued and to list it substantially higher than 'last 5'. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, play fewer toons so you can get burned out on the game. That would kill the game faster than the anti-farmer threads. imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
I provided two alternatives, you'll note.
if your ADD flares up playing one character, then make more inf.
