I'm just waiting to see if they take the most requested power set ever, Dual Pistols, and put it in Going Rogue to force folks to buy it.
I'll be buying GR anyways, but I'm curious to see if they offer Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning as a seperate purchasable package, or if buying GR for $50 will be the only way to get the set.
[/ QUOTE ]
My money is squarely on the premise that Dual Pistols is going to be exclusively in Rogue. Its just a funny feeling I have....
[/ QUOTE ]
Seems likely.
But I'd expect them to make a GvE style bonus pack at some future time, making some of the GR stuff available to folk who didn't want to buy the expansion.
new ATs would be an interesting frontier for the microtransaction system to explore. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm just curious, how much of an effect am I having (if any) on the overall prices of these items by offering bottomed out prices?
[/ QUOTE ]
short answer, none.
you have to deal in bulk if you want to have any impact on the market. Selling your drops has about as much effect as peeing in the ocean. -
I might have some Posis for you Squez, if I ever get around to kitting out my fire/rad with the purples he's been stashing in base storage because I'm too lazy to respec him.
-
oh sure AFTER I get to work.
THE PERSECUTION IS UNBEARABLE!11 -

Dark/dark.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't imagine the dark primary pumps out the damage, but the dark secondary absolutely has the tools you need to solo tough enemies.
Swallow a bunch of reds, drop Tar Patch, fire up Darkest Night if you can afford the end hit (I like to put it on a nearby lieutenant) and go to town.
This will work. -
I'm not seeing how this frugality results in you "consuming" more than you "produce".
I'm beginning to think you're just making stuff up!

FREE HUGS!
[/ QUOTE ]
isn't that a side mission in the IP Mayhem? -
ok, breakfast was delicious, my son loved the scrambled eggs, put him down for his nap and finishing up my coffee.
Off to work in a few.
Servers still unavailable, alas I can't work up a hysterical reaction.
guess I'll just have to check the market when I get home. =P -
Just made breakfast and did the dishes instead of obsessing on the servers being down.
updates to follow!!!1 -
ya know what I do when the servers are unexpectedly down?
something else.
then I check back a while later, and things are usually back to normal.
Crazy, I know.
But it seems to work. -

Try it on a corruptor, then.
[/ QUOTE ]
Out of curiosity, what kind of Corruptor?
[/ QUOTE ]
not fire/dark, that's for sure! -
[ QUOTE ]
I had no problem, for example, on staying alive with Spinnerrette, it's just that she had no problem staying alive either. It was a deadlock.
[/ QUOTE ]
super genius tactical protip:
if you're not doing enough damage, eat more reds.
if you're still not doing enough damage, hit the market and buy up a bunch of BIG reds, then eat those.

[ QUOTE ]
I presume you didn't play on Freedom then at that point, rarely a day went by without somebody asking for the fortune teller mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
So your super inf scheme that made all lowbies rich requires the most populated server to function?
Huh.
[ QUOTE ]
No, I don't have to pay 3M now and I don't, but I do have to pay 250K instead of the 20K I used to have to pay to beat the flipper's price.
[/ QUOTE ]
who notices the difference between 20k and 200k any more?
I mean, really?
I realize I make more inf that a lot of people, but I also make less than a lot of people. And if I can get something I want for less than a couple of million I don't notice what it costs, because it isn't a meaningful amount.
20k, 200k, 2 MILLION....the difference between them isn't noticeable in the modern economy. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Somebody had at least 2 listed for less than 30 million...
[/ QUOTE ] I understand that part. I just don't get why somebody would throw up 60 or 70 million as their first bid.
[/ QUOTE ]
they don't want to mess around re-entering bid and don't really care about inf. -
[ QUOTE ]
Actually, Kadabra Kill cons as "Hero" whenever I fight him.
[/ QUOTE ]
I mowed him last night with a mace/invulnerable brute slotted with a mix of level 15 & 20 generic IOs and he didn't seem particularly imposing.
I also took him out a few weeks back with my ninja blade/willpower stalker, which was a much larger challenge and necessitated burning some inspirations.
Both on the second difficulty level. -
[ QUOTE ]
They ALL can be soloed at any level - cept for those click missions mentioned earlier in this thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
And those aren't roadblocks either since they can be dropped. -
[ QUOTE ]
This is not the point I was making, you can't do this any more as the 50 can now Ouro the FT any time they want, so there's no inf available.
[/ QUOTE ]
The same pipeline is open to everyone via the market.
The insatiable thirst for low level salvage is a much more reliable wealth builder for lowbies than getting the right badge mission and putting the bite on people to run it.
The $$ made by all the lowbies selling drops on the market dwarfs the pittance earned by the few players selling their Fortune Teller mission by an order of magnitude. -
[ QUOTE ]
In all seriousness, though, the recent salvage shortage is driving prices for things like circuit boards through the roof. While 5 mil is still high, I've seen 'em going for 5000, 50000, etc. It's getting crazy out there, simply because salvage drops are limited by level.
[/ QUOTE ]
anybody who wants can buy lowbie salvage with tickets, whatever level they are.
if they aren't doing it, it's because the "crazy" prices for low level salvage still haven't made it an efficient way to spend tickets. -
[ QUOTE ]
ok....i'm startin to have a feeling that once reach a certain level, you have no choice but to do missions with others....is this true? if so, what level is pretty much the end of the line for doing missions solo?
[/ QUOTE ]
Anything can solo this game bottom to top.
Patrol XP, temp powers, the ability to drop missions....it's never been easier to solo 1-50.
I find soloing tedious unless I'm playing a class that can pump out the damage, but anybody can make it with enough persistence. -
[ QUOTE ]
I disagree, just because of the message it sends the devs. If they decide that lots of people will spend $10 if someone likes ANYTHING in the pack, how long until individual pieces cost $10? Some people would clearly be happy with that, and it'd cost them less to do.
[/ QUOTE ]
I doubt enough people share my philosophy to make that a cost effective decision.
=P
Also, while my burning enthusiasm for the skull faceplate was my inspiration for buying the magic pack, if that's all they'd had on offer I'd probably have skipped it.
There was a lot of stuff I sorta liked, some stuff I wasn't that into, and the faceplate, which I really really loved.
The faceplate was the deciding factor, but getting the coats and hats and emotes and the power definitely factored in. -

I didn't buy the wedding pack because it didn't have anything that appealed to me. Ditto for the Mac pack.
[/ QUOTE ]
For female characters at least, the wedding dress patterns fit perfectly with the stuff in the magic pack. I've mixed them to make several really nice costumes.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it works for you, right on. =)
It's smart of them to release things that appeal to different types of players. -
[ QUOTE ]
In the meantime, lowball bids will continue to fill.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been making hay on uncommons, buying at 9k and selling for RIDICULOUS prices, 100k+.
Patience still works, folks. -
[ QUOTE ]
So... with side switching... does this mean that villain archetypes will get ancillary power pools? I mean, they cant really have patrons as heros can they? Likewise, does this mean that heros are getting a set of patron powers?
[/ QUOTE ]
or they'll implement some new alternative system for defectors only. -
[ QUOTE ]
The only thing in this pack I care the least bit about is 4 pairs of the goggles.... but I dont know that those are enough to wangle $10.00 out of me. Those Death goggles sure are sweet, though. *thinks it over....*
[/ QUOTE ]
Even if you never use anything else (which I'm skeptical about- there's stuff in the Cyborg & Magic packs that didn't inspire me initially but which I eventually found uses for) $2.50 per goggle seems pretty reasonable.
I didn't buy the wedding pack because it didn't have anything that appealed to me. Ditto for the Mac pack.
But if there's ANYTHING I like in a pack, it's worth it to me.
Ten bucks is chump change- one movie ticket, a meal at a burger joint, a case of soda, a six pack of beer, a decent steak at the supermarket, two magazines, one paperback. -
[ QUOTE ]
It can affect things two ways:
1.) It makes it harder for lowbies who want to craft to buy components (if they haven't gotten drops that work).
[/ QUOTE ]
That isn't a "screw up", that's how the game works.
Smart players adapt to the market. Low level salvage through the roof? Time to sell!
[ QUOTE ]
2.) It means they have to keep selling salvage which may or may not earn them as much as they'd get if they were crafting.
[/ QUOTE ]
So?
Again, that's how the system works, not a "screw up".
People find niches and those niches dry up all the time. When profits in one niche die off, it's time to find a new one.
[ QUOTE ]
Now, if salvage prices spike to a point where the parts of an enhancement outprice the enhancement itself, lowbies will do fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lowbies will do fine regardless.
You seem to feel players are owed some level of profit for crafting. News flash- they aren't. It's up to players to be responsive and switch up their schemes when the environment dictates a change.
