And deprive the world of genius thread titles like I smell poor people?
Perish the thought!
In fact.....in honor of the last days of this wretched forum software.... -
[ QUOTE ]
Tonality, I'm not interested in running an experiment with your Inf, or Smurphs, or anyone elses.
[/ QUOTE ]
As predicted in the dead seas scrolls!
Or one of my posts, they're so easy to confuse....-
[ QUOTE ]
For the last time...I'm not talking about any recipes or salvage besides purples.
[/ QUOTE ]
That doesn't matter- they all follow the same rules.
[ QUOTE ]
There are so few of these that one person can focus in on one specific purple IO and buy them all completely controlling the price pushing it as high as they want.
[/ QUOTE ]
no they can't.
your persistent delusion that it can speaks to your absolute lack of market knowledge.
[ QUOTE ]
I knew posting here was a mistake, because the only people that read this part of the forum are those that love to play the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
Imagine, if you will, this humble Goat wandering into a forum dedicated to mathematics. Now, I dislike math and have as little to do with it as possible. But let's assume that like you I have a bunch of hair-brained ideas about math I want to share.
So I post in some threads, and the mathematicians ask me questions I refuse to answer and posit experiments I refuse to perform, insisting instead on my own superstitious interpretations of what calculations mean.
Sound familiar?
That scenario is never going to have a happy ending.
[ QUOTE ]
Devs....did you want purple sets to cost well over a billion inf?
[/ QUOTE ]
They intended them to be the pinnacle of loot in the game, and that costs whatever players value it at.
They don't get to declare what something is worth, the market dictates that. -
excellent composition, ***** stars!

[ QUOTE ]
So I simply had the idea that flagging large purchases for investigation would help track down RMT sellers, much like police will look for large luxury purchases to track down thieves and drug-dealers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, treating your paying customers like thieves and drug dealers is a suicidal business practice. Your idea is among the very worst I've ever seen on this forum, which places you in rare company indeed. -
[ QUOTE ]
So after issue 16 hits, supply goes up, purple prices go down. Won't the marketeers just buy low and hold them untill prices go back up, then sell?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, we'll be too busy making bank on all the stuff that is spiking because the farmers are leaving MA. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, I hope you came across your inf honestly when you put 500mil or more on a recipe.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's irrelevant where it came from since no developer is suicidal enough to follow your brain damaged advice.
Or are you gonna be like OJ and run a personal investigation until you apprehend the dirty RMT'er who supplies all our inf? -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd love to know where people get these ideas.
[/ QUOTE ]
To get an idea, imagine primitives crouched around a campfire making up stories to explain mysterious events such as the sun rising in the east , the cycle of the tides and the changing of the seasons. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you want cheap purples you should try convicing everyone in the game to get out of the MA. Prices will drop right back to where they were pre-MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is why I've shelved my quest to purple out the Goat until after I16.
Between the inevitable nerfs to MA rewards and the ability to set the team size for your missions purple prices will drop fast.
I can barely wait to see JDouble's explanation for this inexplicable phenomenon! -
[ QUOTE ]
Hey Nethergoat, maybe it's just cause your not putting little smileys after your sentences, but your coming off like a real [censored]. Was that on purpose or am I just misunderstanding your posts?
[/ QUOTE ]
Is this your way of ducking my questions?
Here, I'll ask them again super nicely so your tender emotions don't get all battered and bruised:
Pray tell kind sir why do you insist on an elaborate conspiracy of marketeers to explain the simple actions of supply and demand?
How would you personally go about "controlling" purple recipes, assuming you have a bank full of inf to use?
Are you able to provide a logical structure to support your suggestion that "the Devs might wanna think about creating some boundries that stop a minority from greatly affecting the majority in a negative way."? What exactly is it this minority doing to so dreadfully impact the gamplay of the majority?
TIA for your considered responses!
xoxoxo,
Goat -
[ QUOTE ]
Look, I'm sure you know alot more about economics than me, but this isn't as complicated as real world economics.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then why are you making up an elaborate conspiracy theory to explain the dirt simple reality of supply and demand?
[ QUOTE ]
I'm talking about purple recipes that are so rare you only have to buy 5 or 6 a month to control them. If you have the Inf, anyone can do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please explain how.
Again, you're big on conspiracy and short on details.
Explain how so I can blow holes in your argument.
[ QUOTE ]
We agree that lack of supply is the main culprit...
[/ QUOTE ]
no it isn't.
there are any number of "rare" recipes in the game that aren't worth squat because nobody wants them.
Supply is only half the equation. -
[ QUOTE ]
Run the experiment yourself. See how long you last making profits. I'll give you money.
[/ QUOTE ]
See? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Ebil manipulators do NOT cause prices to rise above where Supply and Demand dictate the prices would go.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL...ok.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only people with zero experience make statements as uninformed as yours.
Go flip some stuff and you'll find out Smurph is right. I bet he'll even give you the inf for it.
(cue the usual "I totally would but uh I don't wanna, but I'm right anyway!" babble) -
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't be surprised if Custom Critters in general were to get reduced rewards.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's an idea they could work with, since they seemingly insist on allowing all-Lt and all-boss maps. -
[ QUOTE ]
You make it sound like it had to contest with other "good" posts.
[/ QUOTE ]
PP is a forum visionary, I don't expect many others to appreciate her genius. -
[ QUOTE ]
And also, I'd like to see any purchase of 500mil or more flag that account for investigation of RMT. Before you jump into an uproar, if you earned that Inf the honest way, then you have nothing to worry about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, because treating your customers like criminals is such a fantastic way to keep them subscribed. -
[ QUOTE ]
Santorican. I already stated above my opinion that this isn't a game about economy and market manipulation, it's a game about comic book super heroes that has an economy. I know there are some that only play the market and never run around doing missions, SFs, or other content, but they are the minority. Good for you that you made Billions of the market alone, but the majority of folks that spend more time actual playing thru content shouldn't have to pay the price becuase folks like you rather spend their time manipulating the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
The game is the game.
If you don't enjoy the market, great- running missions and selling your junk will make you enough inf for just about any build you want.
If you feel you're entitled to the top tier loot without making the effort to attain it, that's not a problem with the game, it's a problem with your expectations.
[ QUOTE ]
Playing the market is just one small aspect of a larger game.
[/ QUOTE ]
So is everything else. TFs, door missions, AE, RP, whatever.
The game is the game.
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not asking for instant gratification. All I'm saying is the Devs might wanna think about creating some boundries that stop a minority from greatly affecting the majority in a negative way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please detail this eebil scheme so I explain in detail why you're wrong. TIA.
[ QUOTE ]
IMO setting a price cap and adjusting the drop rates is a good place to start.
[/ QUOTE ]
RagmanX would LOVE this!
I doubt you would, though. -
[ QUOTE ]
Anyone who is not happy can SUCK IT.
This feature is GREAT.

HAWR!
Greatest PP post evar.
and co-sign. -
putting a team together is work.
keeping a team together is work.
It's a bother I happily live without.
And I have lots of fun solo, so my motivation is low.
I'll team with friends (zero effort, guaranteed compatibility) & join the occasional PUG if I have time.
But I've been here five years without ever forming a team myself and don't feel like I'm missing anything. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also funny, I just killed Scrapyard on my way to taking that shot. So I actually stopped to keep the working man down on the way to bragging about how rich I am.
[/ QUOTE ]
Synchronicity!
Also, the thread title made me laugh out loud.
so double Gratz! -
the thing about bronze rolls is you can generate SO many of them deleting everything but the absolute best stuff doesn't really cramp your style much.
It takes a few minutes to run a quick solo farm that will fill up your recipe inventory- even if you only get one really good recipe, you're still way ahead of the 'real' game.
Sell the good one for a few million, delete the rest, onward and upward! -

When one uses the Ouroboros Portal power to use the zone menu from the Ouroboros zone, one is not using the Flashback system. Likewise, if one uses Ouroboros only to access the strike forces, one is not using the Flashback system, either. In both cases one is, however, using features associated with the Ouroboros zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Precisely. -

Dark Astoria, once in a while, is a LOT OF FUN.
I don't know how efficient it was in terms of XP, drops, etc. but nothing beats it for Zombies Per Minute.
BOOOM ! FWOOOSH! Ah ha ha hah...
[/ QUOTE ]
This is wisdom.
And the reason I have my fire blaster oro-parked in Moth Cemetary. =D -
I smell a farming opportunity!
-
I spread my love around fairly evenly- I have multiples of most ATs. Probably more scrappers & brutes than anything else.
The exceptions:
0 Kheldians, because I don't enjoy playing them.
1 tank, fire/axe. Level 30 now so I doubt I'll delete him like I did all my previous tries.
1 stalker, who I'm actually enjoying. Those changes a while back really helped them out.
