  6. This is how I usually end up overpaying for salvage:

I'm crafting a recipe I spent millions of inf on and I need one more piece of salvage so I can make the thing and get back to playing. The temptation to BUY NAO can be strong.

And lets face it, in the current economy dropping a few hundred thousand inf on a hunk of salvage is the equivalent of tipping the valet 5 bucks to park your car.

Yeah they'll park it for less, but who wants to look like a cheapskate?

  8. Nobody ever dies for real in comics.
They could make a great storyline out of bumping off Statesman, then bring him back in the next issue or something.

    Earning money

post-I16 idea for efficient solo TF merit farming:

migrate my plant/fire dom over to Paragon and hit Positron like an avalanche.

He'd have Seeds of Confusion & pretty good AoE capability, he could clean house on all those annoying spawns.

or they don't want him recruiting players for CO on these forums, as his company has been guilty of in the past.

Any number of solutions for this.
My fave from the past is the 'server tag', adding the server of origin to player info to differentiate between the various alternate reality versions of heroes & villains.

While I'd love to take credit for dictating salvage prices, the only people deciding what things are 'worth' are your fellow casual gamers.

  17. I haven't made a ton of use of MA, but I have run some really excellent farming maps, and I've also run some really excellent story arcs, and not just from the Dev's Choice stable.

I don't understand the tendency for people to insist MA is this one thing, or this other thing- it's EVERYTHING, tied up with a big sloppy ribbon.

The most legitimate complaint you can make about it is that finding what you're after can be a pain because the plethora of content on offer is so vast.
  18. this is generating in me an unhealthy desire to play all the Devs Choice arcs and rate them in comparison to the 'real' content.

    =(

    Whatever you've got.
Business exist to make money, not to worry overmuch about the niceties of who they're making money off. Casinos, bars, MMO companies, religions....they all take advantage of people with certain predispositions.

Addiction is addiction, whether the problem is a game you don't enjoy playing or an unrealistic body image you will never be satisfied with.

The outward manifestation of the problem may be different and obviously some are more immediately dangerous than others, but they spring from the same well.

I know quite a few people who've lost jobs, blown relationships, dropped out of school and generally messed up their lives with video game addictions.

I disagree that a commercial entity should be responsible for 'looking out' for these kinds of people, but they do exist.
  21. Sam, at this point I think it's safe to say you're an Army of One. =P

I'm happy the game still has content you find interesting, even if your reasons for liking it are opaque & inexplicable to most of us.
  22. I really like 'derp derp' as the placeholder sound for the financially incompetent, and fully intend to steal it from you for future use.
