Quote:Is it Hollywood that believes we need to see Dredd's face.....or the ego of the actor? We will see Judge Dredd's face because Hollywood believes we should. I agree with you but we will him without his helmet on.
It is like the superhero revealing his Identity to his girlfriend or she figures it out even though they never do in the comics.
-
Didn't mind Rico as the villain, but oh yes indeed give us JUDGE DEATH.
Also for fraks sake, can the writers and the star of the movie please remember that Judge Dredd is never seen without his helmet on? To this day his appearance has never been officially revealed and what little is known is suspect last time I read.
I remember reading that Ahnold turned the role down due to not wanting to wear the helmet all the time, yet somehow they got Stallone into the movie and agreed to not have the helmet on all the time....ugh. -
I agree that part of this is due to certain laws in regards to how kids are portrayed in animation in the states. Remember the changes they had to do to Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker after it was pre-screened and there was some "parental upheaval" over what Joker was shown to have done to young Tim Drake in the flash back and what Tim ended up doing to the Joker? It was then changed so that Joker was accidentally electrocuted vs. Tim shooting the Joker.
So showing a kid Robin being beaten to a pulp by Joker with a crowbar likely wouldn't fly too well with certain laws and restrictions. Also showing the damage from said crowbar to Robin and later the Joker also likely wouldn't fly too well with the laws of the land.
Also way back in the comics before Death in the Family, Jason was showing signs of being a bit ruthless and there was story where Jason confronted a member of a crime family that hurt a friend of his. We then see the person take a swan dive off the roof before Batman arrives on the scene and it was never to this day clarified if Jason sent the guy off the roof. Jason told Batman that he (jason) scared the guy so much that he slipped, and then stated something about it being no big loss to society that the person was dead.
In Under the Red Hood movie we also see Jason using excessive force against someone and arguing with Batman about it later.
So while his dunking in the Lazarus Pit didn't help in terms of his overall sanity, I suspect that in the comics now and this movie we are seeing the real Jason Todd. Jason basically now has all the training of Batman plus whatever else he has received, an arsenal of gadgets, and the ruthlessness of the Punisher. -

This. I want any of my 50's that go Incarnate, including my lol-Stalker to become so powerful that they can walk up to Lord Recluse or Statesman and slap them in the face with a gauntlet and say "Let's go, right now!" Upon which they have a one on one battle that is evenly matched.
-
Quote:Well if Incarnates are being delayed to improve them, that's fine. Also Incarnates aren't the main thing to GR, but rather side switching so as long as that and the market merge are ready at launch then all should be well.....as long as side switching doesn't impede one going incarnateHA! Well, yes, it's a bit odd, but only if you think of GR as "buy it and get this". It does have a future beyond what comes with it.

Kind of reminds me of all the old complaints about CoP being a "selling point" to CoV and how some felt cheated at its sudden removal and some even tried claiming false advertising. -
Quote:Ouch....that's bad.One of the things that makes me happy on my fire / fire is having enough recharge to make the Mu Guardian perma.
Although ... there's a bug that hasn't been fixed with ages: if you the power recharges before your Guaurdian goos *poof* and you activate it, the first Guardian gooes *poof*, and your second one goes *poof* on the first one's timer. -
Quote:Looking at the powers and their slotting and the S/L of my build, plus the 4 Master badges on the character, plus the 30 teams that my dom has aided in getting the Mo badges.....no waste or loss noticed. These so called "Super Permadom 2" and "Super Permadom 3" levels are far from practical and usually result in a waste of recharge and loss of other potential advantages, just a FYI.
Goes back to polishing his Mo badges.... -
I feel your pain, believe me. Another alt just finished today, some still have awhile. Here's hoping GR doesn't add new DJ badges.

Quote:If you want permadom, then you need hasten. The only way to negate the need for hasten would be:I'm considering making a Dominator finally after many years of COH/COV play. Leaning somewhere between Earth/Earth and Earth/Fire I had a question for the Dominator community.
Is Hasten really necessary for a Dominator? I have managed to avoid using Hasten in any build since I3, not because of the End Crash but instead because of the ugly glowy hands graphics that I just cannot get past. I know I will not be as powerful without it but is it really going to hamper my effectiveness to the point of frustration? I do not think I have seen a build without it included in my searches. For reference the characters I have gotten to 50 without ever getting Hasten include Scrappers, Tanker, Defender, Controller, Corruptor, and Night Widow.
Thanks for the input, I might be back later with some Earth/Fire or /Earth questions later as well!
1. Get 125% recharge bonus from IO sets to achieve permadom, hasten not required.
2. Skip hasten and forget permadom -

Quote:Don't sweat it, neither electric armor nor invulnerable armor can go perma with their Tier 9 either. So since 3:00 would be 1/5 of 15:00, and the base recharge is 16:40, then I guess that means no perma.

Ah well, that isn't too important, I just want to get the recharge down as far as possible so she can be flying about as a Wisp more often. Perma isn't really needed for that.
Besides the constant power crash could be problematic. -
Quote:Thanks, I go by Goku's demonstration of the SSJ when he was showing them to Majin Buu.To use your own DBZ lingo, these levels you described would more accurately be refered to as "Ascended Permadom" and "Ultimate Permadom", which are the levels Trunks and Vegeta developed in their fight against Cell after training in the Room of Time and Spirit. Great muscle power, but being so big and bulky affects their speed and defense in a fatal way.
With that much budget and some more out-of-the-box thinking, one could make a Dominator build that would turn your so called "SP3" into bad comedy.
As for someone making a "bad comedy" dominator, that's their choice and has no correlation to what I do with my characters.
