Noticed something nice today as I was fighting fires in Steel Canyon: each fire fighter badge now has two tracking meters one for Hellions the other for Fires that you extinguish. Very nice!
Also I ran the new Maria arc and I thoroughly enjoyed it and prefer it over the original except for the following: when I was done with it, I only had 11 of the 14 defeats for Dimensional Warder. Now yes one of the missing is Antimatter and you need to run Tina's arc for him. But as I reviewed my battle logs and some recordings I noticed that Siege didn't seem to appear in any of the missions at all and he was never a stated mission goal so unless he was lurking in the mission against Nightstar he just isn't in the arc. Also Nightstar's defeat didn't provide progress on the bar for Dimensional Warder. I confirmed this by using Ouro to access the old arc and quickly got the Nightstar/Siege mission. Defeating them brought the count to thirteen, leaving only Antimatter. -

Quote:It is possible that Caleb had already been spawned before your team began wiping out the spectrals. He tends to manifest in the sky above the island and you do need to be really close to see him.Hi all,
on Virtue 30 mins ago. Unexpectedly got on a Caleb team of 8 and spent three ingame days/nights defeating and not spawning the prey.
I sent a petition and the whole team cheerfully kept at it.
After 40 minutes with no response one member had to go and that started a cascade leaving.
I was sending a second petition and looked up to see I had the star as I was the only one left!
As these things happen I immediately received a tell from a GM informing me Caleb was about to spawn at my location. Eek and he did. But he also took off at great pace and despawned before I could even fire off one attack.
I screamed over every channel I could for the team to get back to Nerva and started to ask the GM for another spawn.
Guys started flocking in and the GM respawned Caleb by me. That was a fun minute trying to respond to the GM, invite the guys back to the team and engage Caleb to stop him clearing off again.
As it happened we got 6 of the team back and took the Ghostie down.
The chat log was definately worth a reread. There were skid marks in the sky where our members did a panic return to the island
The GM was fantastic and understood what was occuring and helped us out, our thanks to her
We never got a proper spawn and never got an event notification.
My advise is to try the usual way and if that is unsuccesful send a petition and give them time to respond. After a decent interval petition again still being very polite!
And just hang in there till they get to you, because the wait is still better than the thankless futile attemps that may never get you the badge. We all had horror stories of earlier attempts.
Have a good spawn
I tend to lock onto him with "targetcustomnext caleb", and either turn on invis or a temp invis power if I don't have a stealth proc in flight and set to auto follow him. He never turns to attack and that gives the team time to assemble in the area. Kind of funny constantly following him but it works.
Another GM that seemed a bit buggy of late was Adamastor. Was on for majority of the day the other day and never saw an alert for him and never saw him in the zone. Late other night, suddenly there is an alert for Adamastor, Lusca, Troll Rave and Fire in Steel Canyon all at the same time. Go figure. -
Quote:I've never had Caleb despawn at all. Some say he despawns at sunrise but I've had plenty of daylight battles with him.I'm just wondering whether Caleb has no despawn ability (similar to Winter Lord and Hami). In that case, once spawned, he will float in the air and laugh at your attempts to spawn him again. Given that player needs to be not farther than 100 feet away or so to spot him, it can be the case of why you were having problems to spawn him.
-
Anytime I'm on a Caleb hunt I circle around the island using a "targetcustomnext caleb" bind to check the area in case he's already been spawned previously. Sometimes that is the case.

As long as my alts can still slot fitness and insert the procs in to the powers I'm fine with it going inherent

Quote:Granted this is a bug/exploit that needs to be corrected, however it might also be related to the fact that when one switches builds that their accolades powers are also recharged.Just to add, I think people who are exploiting it to get all the 7 day badges straight away are doing themselves a diservice. Of course I am a slow plodder, I am sitting quite happily as a villain for now earning all the villain side content. I know the other ones will come in due time. :-)
Overall though, when alignment changes you lose your current alignment power to gain the next one so you can't really have all alignment powers and the powers themselves are nice but hardly considered to be strong enough to tilt the odds massively in your favor in a fight.
Granted players probably shouldn't be using this to gain the badges, but I don't think this ranks as a "game-breaking must fix right away" type of problem, at least not when compared to some other bugs that are present

Quote:Well here's the thing though, in Batman Beyond it wasn't his heart problem that directly prompted him to retire and not pass on the mantle until Terry came along. It was that he broke his own personal rule of honor about guns when he was down and "big bad scary Batman" had to resort to grabbing a gun that was dropped in the fight.True but for contrast look at how Bruce adapted in Kingdom Come to the times. In Kingdom Come he felt he had to keep fighting the good fight and did what he had to do to stay in it. In Batman Beyond other heroes were around to handle things and he passed on the mantle so things went very differently. I think it really comes down to the good fight, if Batman thinks it is okay for him to fade away then he will, if not then he'll keep going until he is a brain in a jar if that is what it takes he just won't like it.
In short I think Batman sees enhancments and the lilke as cheating, but he is willing to cheat to protect other people if he has to.
Sure there were other heroes to fight the good fight, but Gotham did not have a Batman at all, and even though the city modernized with the times, it still went to pieces in terms of crime and law enforcement, and Bruce due to being depressed at having to retire as Batman stopped caring about pretty much everything which was why Derek Powers took over Wayne Enterprises.
When he showed Terry the exo armor that was clearly based on Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns armor, he said it placed too much strain on his heart, yet he had no heart problems against Inque. He simply fought her and pretended to be stuck until Terry got free and finished the fight.
Even Terry was skeptical that a heart problem stopped him from being Batman and Bruce being all secretive never told him about his final mission and that gun.
Had Bruce not grabbed that gun he would still have carried on as Batman despite his age and then may well have contemplated something like the Lazarus Pit. -
Just keep patrolling around the buildings in the northeast area of St Mart. Near the buildings is some ground with Dev Earth so be careful.

I don't mind the closest to completion tab.
Though making an "Alignment Badge" category might be a good idea. -
Quote:Access Ouroborus and get the mission "Video Games Made Me Do it". It's loaded with nothing but PPD and it gives the Couch Potato badge.Hello everybody,
Blue sider gone to the Red and doing the "Thin Line" defeat badge, defeat 1000 PPD police peoples.
Am usually solo and happy to run at +8 foes so would be grateful for any steers as to a good location or mission (not mayhems) that I could crack on to the total please.
Thanks muchly. -
Quote:Heh for the ghosts I find it good to use Ouroborus to set my alt to L20. High enough level to face the ghosts without being owned by them, just hi enough that they won't try to flee if I were at L50, and just high enough level that I am not one shot killing them when they are out of trap range.Well again I look at it as taking 3 hours in Port Oakes to get 5 badges, not just 1 (Gangbuster, Pirate, Night Haunt, Spectral and Red Hand) because while I'm hunting Marcone bosses I can easily switch over to trapping ghosts when it gets dark.
So yeah if you just want Gangbuster then St. Martial might be the best place for it.
But I'm looking at the "big picture" here as far as badging goes. YMMV.
Took my L50 evil blaster about an hour to obtain both ghost badges that way. -
Quote:Season 3 of Batman Beyond also shows Bruce's attitude towards augmentation or rejuvenation when he ultimately rejected the usage of Rha's Al Ghul's Lazarus Pit after his first immersion in it. At the end of the episode he was slowly reverting back to his correct age and was more accepting of it.Something to consider is that in the DCU, there are already cybernetic, genetic, and other enhancements available to Bruce Wayne and he chooses not to use them.
A major conceit of Batman's character is that he is the pinnacle of human training: a product of hard work, nigh unlimited resources, and an obsession. The pentiultimate human as it were. If that is missing, its not Bruce Wayne's Batman--it might not even be a Batman.
If in the next hundred years the definition of what is baseline human changes so much, then it is possible to see Batman availing himself of such tech, but given the concept of the character as he exists today, it would be impossible.
If Barbara Gordan is still in a wheelchair, then Bruce Wayne isn't going to be augmenting his body with artificial muscle fiber. -
Quote:Thanks, Beef. The problem still occurs chronically with me despite repeated DNS flush and cookie purge. My ISP shows no errors in their service and I can surf to anywhere else at the same time as I try to access badge-hunter.Just to let everyone know, I'll be contacting my hosting company tomorrow to go over the site and make sure all is in order with the nameserver, just to make sure it's not on our end.
I've had a few hikkups myself on the site, so I'll have them make sure everything is working ok. And I'll leave a link to this thread to show them that others are having issues as well.
It's possible it may be from our end of things, so bear with me until I can update this thread on the issues you are all having.
Thanks,

Quote:No problem. I tend to wait until my alt is L40+ then cruise St Mart for the Marcone. Since the accolades were fixed long ago to exemp to any level instead of being level locked, I no longer prioritize getting them ASAP.My alt is a rogue lvl 40 Night Widow.
I will try to get the badge in those zones. I will post again when I got it.
Thank everyone for the advices
Heh, I remember using alts of mine and some pals to get Invader on newly rolled alts..... -
Quote:Squishy maybeI wouldn't exactly define a blaster as "a non-damage oriented squishy type AT."
However my blaster's current build is a bit.....overamped for damage. Still it's nice to be back on the light side of the Force as it were in terms of alignment, I need to send it into the revised Tina and Maria arcs for Praetorian Clockwork and Seers.

Quote:My formerly evil now good again blaster took about 90 minutes to hunt down and wipe out the bosses in St Mart. But mileage varies. It's debatable which zone (St. Martial or Port Oakes) is better for the Gangbuster badge. The NE corner of St. Martial may indeed have more Marcone bosses to find. But because they are so much higher level than the ones you find in Port Oakes it'd definitely be harder for a non-damage oriented support/squishy type AT.
Just a few days ago I managed to run a circuit around in Port Oakes between the center north and SE sections of the map with my level 50 controller. She was able to one-shot every boss she found and managed to finish Gangbuster in about 3 hours. The cool part about doing that badge in Port Oakes is that I was able to switch up hunting ghosts at night to finish up those badges at the same time.

Quote:Oh if only AE foes did count......or at least in AE we need quintuple the amount of kills to help slow down the farmers...I just need to kill 200 Family bosses to get the Gangbuster badge, the last badge I need to get the high pain threshold Accolade.
I have a doubt. Can I create a mission in AE with only Family bosses to defeat them and get the badge, I mean, do mobs in AE count for defeats badges?
No, you will need to either patrol around Port Oaks and blast all Marcone bosses that you find or for better results patrol the northeast area of St. Mart where you can at times get 2 bosses per group. St. Mart tends to provide faster farm time for that badge, my formerly evil blaster plowed his way through that area. -
Quote:Everything I've read over the years was that Ackroyd was always ready to do a number 3 and most of the cast was willing except for Bill Murray. Bill Murray has apparently been the biggest hold out and cause for delays with this project since the character of Peter Venkeman was rather crucial to getting the team going in the first place but also provided a sense of leadership and balance amongst the big brain scientists on the team, (Ray and Igon). However replacing Bill Murray with another actor as Peter Venkeman just wouldn't fly at all.Peter Venkman's dead?? Ah man...
While I can see it be cool to have him come around and be able to talk about what it's like being an actual ghost it just kinda... doesn't sit right.
I mean, he's the heart of the movies for me. It was his con man ways that got them to actually attempt busting in the 1st place.
Ah well, a Venkman ghost is still better than no Venkman at all and with Bill Murray being the way he is these days guess I should just be happy.
Also, when did Rick Moranis retire?
So basically it sounds like a compromise was reached, Murray shows up for a bit in the movie and walks away with his pile of cash and Venkeman's son takes over and likely will seek to avenge his father. Also it would be an interesting sense of bitter irony if the Ghostbusters had to "bust" and contain Venkeman's ghost. -

Quote:Yes, but that badge and Bug Hunter I've written off as "not likely to ever obtain"I don't think it's possible for Villains to get Passport, either. Didn't they shut down the US->EU server transfers before City of Villains was released?
If they decide to enable Passport for transferring from server to server, that's fine. I'm not expecting it.
But I'm not seeing a huge problem with adding the previous anniversary badges to the x-mas event as craftable/obtainable with x-amount of candy canes and inf. After all, they have the login badge from the previous years of X-mas events that you can craft/obtain and technically speaking those can also be called X-mas Anniversary badges that one can craft for newer alts that they rolled or for older alts that may have missed them. Also Jetsetter and Scrooged can be crafted and obtained as well.
So why not the game Anniversary badges as well? Just put them in the X-mas event as craftable for x-amount of inf and candy canes. -
Actually, given that the 5th column gladiator badge is tied to a badge that predates the existence of villains in the game, will the requirements of this badge be reevaluated? It could still be tied to the anniversary badge and given the alternate requirement of "or obtained by completion of of the Khan TF or Barracuda SF". That way people can still obtain it.
Also: perhaps for the price of say...1000 candy canes and 50,000 inf a character can craft a missing anniversary badge during the holiday event? -
Quote:This problem has been chronic for me since the site changed itself around at it's domain, and all the GR changes to it started, I can surf to anywhere else and connect to the game with no trouble.

Quote:Well, there is closure and then there is closurei don't know, it's nice to get some more firefly/Serenity material, but i think they closed that particular loose end nicely in the movie.
Mal: "It's of interest to me how much you seem to know about that world."
Book: "I wasn't born a shephard, Mal."
Mal: "You have to tell me about it sometime."
Book: (pause) "No, i don't."
While it's fun to speculate about the Shepard and his past, it's past due for some revelations. It's a gorram'd shame though that the revelations couldn't have happened on screen though. -
Quote:Couple of my alts got the badge right away without using a respec or build switch. Bug report logged at the time. There is a bug with the badges being awarded for respeccing while in the "countdown" phase.
Whether or not the devs are going to strip the badges from those who used the respec bug to gain them is unknown, since it's likely that more than a few players were respeccing anyways.
