I'm interested to see how we can get up to 3,000,000. 20,000(75) = 1,500,000.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wanted to make this comment but you beat me to it. Either this is some kind of new math or there is more to the announcement than they are telling us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It was announced some time back that Issue 11 raises the member limit of a VG/SG from 75 to 150
  2. Lets have Mummies be among the monsters spawned by ToT and get a badge that says "you have wrapped up the mummies" or some such.
  3. Been a year already? wow, time does pass quick.

Glad you have been with us Lighthouse, looking forward to another fun year.

So did they say anything recent about this? Or in closed beta?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Nope
  5. Very nice, and one thing I would like to confirm for the writers about the Spirit Masks in Shark, I have hunted them during daylight hours in Potters Field. Spawnage is better at night of course and Halloween event is still a great time to farm them out.
  6. So far my main has secured the 3 new badges and 2 newer toons have helped bring down, Jack, Eochai and the unseelies. Forgot how fun this event was, but as it was last year, so again must i say that my only wish is that the rate of Jack spawning be bumped up a bit.

    Love the costume temp powers

This issue has caused me so much personal stress and anxiety I've basically stopped playing my Dark/Dark/Dark defender--at level 41. I'm just dying to get Archmagus so I can actually use it. Previously I got my first character to 50 and then collected about 5 accolades. And, as mentioned, it leaves a bit of a sour taste that I can't use my Elusive Mind power if I'm exemped at ALL. Accolades should be like inherent powers, I firmly believe.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What's funny is that my Dom is 44.5 and I'm starting to ponder whether it will take longer to just run to 50 than to wait to find a Recluse SF that will take a 45 Dom along.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have no issues with any of the archetypes on the RSF's that I run. Every Archetype has its place and function be it active combatant or vengeance battery or healer or whatever.

Yes. It's called veteran rewards. The way I understood it, they will no longer be giving costume tokens every time new options are added like they used to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the Issue 11 FAQ , Lighthouse states we will be getting both a free respec and a free costume token with issue 11.

    [/ QUOTE ]

whenever a new ish creates a massive change in things or adds many new things they tend to give out freespec and costume tokens.

Otherwise its up to vet rewards now
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Dunno if it means anything, but I tried taking the volume and issue number in Roman numerals, converting them to binary, then decoding.

    Issue XXI = 1011 binary = 11 decimal

    Volume XIXXI - 111011 binary = 59 decimal

Haven't figured out if I'm on any sort of a track here or not, though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The answer to everything is 42
  10. [ QUOTE ]
[ But could we have an issue that delivers on past promises, instead of a new pair of wings and pretty colors.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh, I can see ish 13 now......the bug fix ish
  11. [ QUOTE ]

An interesting theory. Not likely though, unless they were just kidding when it says "Epic AT Unlocked" once you hit 50. Well, upon further reflection, I guess it always has been a bad joke that it says that when a villain hits 50.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That Epic Unlocked message is a leftover bit of code from the Heroes side of the fence

The devs implied once that unlocking the Epic Villain AT might be more then just hitting 50, so who knows?
  12. [ QUOTE ]

Well, no, they're not, and Posi even says so in the above-linked FAQ (you don't get the "tutorial badges" for completing any missions and you can get the badges without completing any missions at all, so they're clearly *not* mission badges). However, he did cryptically mention the Paragon Times articles about Outbreak/Breakout. I'd imagine that, while we can't technically Flashback to the real tutorials, the Outbreak and Breakout events might be 2 of the "historical events" we have to travel back in time to fix/alter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey as long as we can flashback and obtain the badges, I'm fine
  13. [ QUOTE ]

    1) For XP, or only for debt paydown and inf?

    2) Do I have to have unlocked the contacts (via Mayhem missions) when I was in the level range, or will I be able to unlock contacts that I don't have in my list yet from earlier level ranges?

    3) Does this include the Mayhem missions themselves for earlier levels?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1. Well if its an early mission that you have long since outleveled, from my understanding is that you are mal'd down automatically per the normal rules of mal'ing down. So if true then yes you can burn off debt and get money without say being a super nigh unstoppable L50 fighting L20's

    2. Supposedly its for any story arc/badge mish u missed. As to contacts you didnt unlock.....hmmmm i supposed one COULD flashback to an early level mayhem, then after the mayhem unlock the contact. That to me seems like a win/win. You mal down and run the mayhem, then get the contact and can run their missions, hence via time travel you will eventually do every story-arc and badge mish in the game......

.....including hopefully timewarping back to outbreak to farm out Isolator and Breakout to gain Jailbird. Strictly speaking one could consider the tutorials as badge missions.....

Also I see many only missions being timewarped back to for badge hunting purposes.....time jump back to that Troll mish and farm it for troll bosses, etc. Not a bad idea.

'He told me that once a character was exposed to time travel, they receive a temporary power that allows them to open a door to a new area, the Oroboros Citadel.'

THE DOOR COMES TO THOSE WHO HAVE TRAVELED.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And so the mystery has been solved. The question is, how we time travel in the first place to get the Temp Power. Recluse's Victory? The Statesman Task Force? The Lord Recluse Strike Force? All involve time travel if memory serves, but that's all high-level stuff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

More then likely a new contact, or else our original contact when we started the character, or maybe our patron.

Its amazing how you put together all these cool features but still have not worked on past feature issues. By i3 you had Epics for heroes and since i6, almost 2 years ago, villains STILL do not have epics. Heroes can change epic powers via respec; villians are STILL stuck with the 1st patron they picked. Heroes have been giving numerous maps to explore; other than Grandville (RWZ and the Abyss/Monster island are just copies from heroes) villians STILL have not recieved new maps. And then you allow villians to team up in RWZ, but the issuse of giving teammates from opposite factions inspiration is STILL not fixed. Well i would like to clap my hands and say good job on all the new features and concept that you guys have come up with, and do not worry about villians side because we all know it was just something you guys threw together just so there is an illusion of balance .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Amen Brother!!!! Oh yeah, what happened to the Cathedral of Pain???

    [/ QUOTE ]

I too would love to see the EPIC Villain AT's and the Cathedral.....however.....

it is entirely possible that they may have a surprise in ish 11 in that all this time traveling might very well unlock the Epic Villains or may somehow incorporate the Cathedral.

It could well be that a time travel mission is in place or will be added for ish 12 where upon completion you unlock the Epic Villains.

    All speculation of course.

Oh and please fix the robo surgeons in our bases
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Then what should an 'epic badge' feel like?

Where is the line between 'easy enough to get without thinking' and 'insano high level obtainable only in 8 years through an exploit'?

I'm going to get flak for this, but I love the RV Isolator badge. It felt epic to me, I cheered when I got it. And it took a year of just checking maybe once or twice a week. It is a badge of honor to me in how I got it. The epic badges should feel the same: a struggle to obtain, and maybe even dare I say epic to obtain, but obtainable in the realm of acquiring.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Part of the problem is that these badges are referred to EPIC due to their requirements when perhaps calling them the final badges of their particular sets would be better.

Refer to them as Final Set Badges, lower the requirements and as to Isolator and Jailbird, well lets hope that the upcoming Flashback system lets those that need those badges to flashback to get em.

While lowering the requirements for the Final Set Badges wont eliminate the AFK'ing it will reduce it I'm sure.

Also aside from a certain level of prestige/ego boost one gets from gaining the Final Set Badges, there is no other reward. No extra cash or powers. They are trophy badges. Not everyone cares about gaining the badges in th first place and others only care about securing the ones for accolades.

Lowering the Final Set Badge requirements might entice more to seek em out....or maybe not.
  17. Yes the Epics are too high, yes they should be lowered.

Will the weapon graphics work with temp powers and/or veteran powers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

hmm customization of the nemesis staff......
  19. [ QUOTE ]

Not only that, but it discourages people from getting badges in the actual course of the game, but to go out of their way to get them as soon as they are available to ensure they get the most use out of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll say. Whenever I make a new toon, I always prevail upon some hi level buddies of mine to farm out the "kill" badges needed for the accolades, like Electrician, Strike Buster..... ASAP that way they are out of the way. Next comes "Smuggling" my new toon into the zones to secure any and all possible map badges (not counting the PVP zone ones needed of course) that are accolade components. Then its a matter of prioritizing getting my toon into the appropriate missions right away for the 6 mission badges needed as Accolade pieces. So be level 10, my new toon has secured INVADER and Demonic and has all possible badges obtained for the others and must then rise up in levels to enter the PVP zones for map badges, plaques and of course the Siren Call time badge.

If they cant/wont remove the losing of Accolades when mal'd down below level of gaining them, then how about changing the requirements of them so that no pvp zone badges are needed, thus removing the "level lock" on certain ones like Marshal, Born in Battle? Change the PVP zone mapbadges to other map badges and remove the Siren call time badge and any history badge that needs plaques from a PVP zone to complete. There are plenty of other badges that could be designated as Accolade components......just dont make Jailbird one of em

If the accolade badge components DO get revised, in the interest of fairness to those that DO have them already, dont strip em from em. Just make it a "going forward these are the new component badges....."
  20. [ QUOTE ]

In other words--I consider the loss of accolades while exemped to be a bug, not a feature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Especially since I was under the impression that mal/emping down to a level is supposed to bring you to how you were at that level, yet any costume changes, auras, temp powers seem to remain.

Example: I send a toon in to Warburg to obtain the 3 Rockets, then I run a Binder of Beast SF which brings me down to Level 20......yet you have to be L30 to ente warburg.....so the rockets shouldnt be avail if I mal down to 20. Yet they are.

So please Devs, let us keep the accolades regardless of what we mal down too.

If those glimpses from the alternate Paragon Times were meant to represent the Flashback system, does that mean we'll finally get to flashback to our Outbreaks and Breakouts? Will villains who missed it the first time at last be able to get Jailbird? Will heroes no longer have to stalk RV for Isolator? (Please say yes on both counts...)

    [/ QUOTE ]

They have said badge and story arc missions only - so no.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do so hope u are wrong.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Devs - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me - will the flash-back system allow me to go back into breakout, and FINALLY get the Jail Bird Badge on my main badge hunter? I missed out on it as I never knew about badges when I first started playing & its a thorn in my side not being able to get it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I been asking that since the thread started, as I too missed Jailbird on a toon due to not knowing about it. Still havent heard.

One for you, one for me, 2 for you, one-two for me, 3 for you, one-two-three for me......
  24. Hm.....ok Flashback means we get examplared/malfactored down to make the missions challenging....

...but since we are jumping back in time to a point before IO's existed, do the normal effects of Exemping still apply to IO's and their bonuses, or will all IO bonuses and powers be nullified while we are timewarped?
