I am just saying I understand why people are getting fed up at this point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can be upset, the difference is being a adult about it, reading Beef_Cake's post in the VidiotMap forums was rather insulting, basically calling people "wang suckers" for no good damn reason.

I generally had no problem w/ B_C till his last couple of posts I read.

    [/ QUOTE ]

On this I must agree with you. I expected B-C to be a bit better about this.

I mean like soft-capping defences on dominators. I mean like building for damage buffs or massed hit points. I mean doing anything other than chasing recharge. I know you've even less of a life than me, but there are still some things out there that interest me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I remember when IOs were just about to come out, I was a virtually lone voice in saying, "Hey! I'm putting Defense on my Dom!" And I did, and I saw it, and it was good.

Now I'm saying, "Hey! Im putting +Damage on my Dom!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I'm thinking of activating the dual build on my doms and making a +Damage +End one and fore go perma on that build then if things get tough in a mish, duck out and make a fast change.

    Bolding for emphasis......

Well... that's some positive news via Southern.

Are all your Dommies level 50?

Re: Yuri; I don't understand having trouble leveling a lowbie dom.
My lowbie fire/elec is insanely easy to run missions with.
I have some endurance issues from time to time sure, but that's normal for any AT before Stamina and SOs.
He's kind of shelved right now though, as I don't really like the powersets themselves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I ran a Test run of the Destroy Radio mish on my L50 fire-psi Ascended Permadom. (permdom+permhasten, fyi).

Dom took a bit longer to build up initially but that's ok. Stamina usage increase was managable despite having hasten on which boosts recharge but not stamina recovery, but then I also have Stamina with perf shifter+End proc as well as Dom discharging over and over to recharge him.
The damage increase outside of dom is excellent, PSW is still quite deadly, and the Freaks and the Radio were carved through like a hot knife through butter. Will test later on Nemesis, plus he needs to obtain the Snakes still. (hate snakes)

I think it's because the Dominator changes will require a change of playstyle for many people. Old habits die hard, and Dominators have played roughly the same since they were released. I especially feel for the /Psi users not just because PSW got nerfed badly but because the entire feel and "optimal" way to play the set got totally changed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I love it personally.

My doms are almost always in melee range anyways (except Fiery Assault), now I've got more hard hitting powers to use while I'm in melee range. I'm still able to clear out packs of enemies as quick as before, but now I can actually -kill- a boss without taking several minutes (Slight exaggeration on time to kill a boss, but it's significantly faster than before).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ditto. I thoroughly enjoy the /psi changes.

But as stated I'll happily claim any IO from any dom that is to be deleted from these changes.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Also, those of us with multiple permadoms can start trying other, potentially interesting things with their characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Like what? Tear into regular missions? Farms? AE Non-Farm Mishes? Strikeforces? Been there, done that
  8. About the only thing I'd like for gravity to change for dom and controllers is PROPEL: Change it to knock down, and try and smooth/speed up animation-cast time.

Somewhere in the ancient land of Cimmerora there is a mountain that had its top blown off in a cataclysm of power.....the natives of that land as well has time travelers all looked up to see arising from the smoke a stronger then ever Mind/Energy Superpermadom 3...... with a gleeful laugh and evil grin on their face, the SP3 was saying something before they flew off to parts unknown. Some said that the SP3 was saying...."So...energy is gimp eh?....Who's laughing now? I AM, that's who!"

One problem I've been seeing with the progression of things since around I13 (PvP revamp and merits, specifically) is that we are moving closer and closer to normalization and standardization wherever it's possible. It seems like a good idea on the surface but it also means that the unique aspects of certain powers or ATs are being stripped in the name of making everything the same. As someone once said, "once everyone is super, no one will be super."

    QFT

Yay! Dommies are now Blasters with pets!
    *waves little flag weakly*

    [ QUOTE ]
Psychic Shockwave was a 25' area effect power that did single target damage instead of Area damage. That *was* a bug that we allowed to stand until this point, since [u]we were not happy with Dominator Performance[u] as a whole. Now that we have the wherewithal to make the scale of changes seen here, it was time to fix that particular issue.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I was happy.
    Now I am not.
I give you Devs another big, fat "thank you for nothing"!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I would like to cancel out your "I am not happy" with my "I am happy"

The changes look good and will make playing as Dominator interesting. People seem to be forgetting that Domination damage is now always up, for anyone who didn't have perma Dom, this will be a huge increase in damage and fun.

People need to look at the game as a whole and not just either level 50 farming or AV fights. These changes are great and the Castle is wise.

The question in my mind is this,

How does the damage of Dominators compare to the damage of Defenders and Corrupters?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have to agree with you Peacemoon, I just got done playing my Plant/Psy dom on test server, and I felt more powerful as I went through missions faster WITHOUT using Flytrap nor Toxic Tarantula than I do on Live using both of those pets. My Plant/Psy is a perma-dom, and has 20s down time with Toxic Tarantula currently so it's practically always out to increase my DPS.

This was against Malta to boot where the final boss is a Robot who resists Psy damage heavily. I could actually go through that boss without spending 5-10 minutes (ok an exaggeration) trying to kill it like I do on live even with two pets assisting me, whereas on test I had no pets and went through the boss faster.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sent a fresh copy of my fire/psi Ascended Permadom to test so that I could try the changes. Dom took slightly longer to build but that was to be expected. Once dom was energized, I still tore through the enemies as always, in some cases a bit faster. Overall the changes to psi are nice and anyone who thought that PSW was never overamped and in need of readjustment was deluding themselves. PSW as it is, is still quite deadly.

However for those that feel that their dominators are now useless, please contact me before you delete them, I'm sure I'll happy to claim many of your IO's.

Final mission in the Cap Strike Force.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yuck. Aside from winning the SF, you'd then likely have to thoroughly cleanse the map of all monsters to make sure you dont get any sudden surprises. Not really sure if that map would be worth using for a damage soak.

Oh, I was thinking I'd have to go all the way back to Technician Naylor, thanks Nericus!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tech Naylor has a shard arc, but I think you are better off with Pither's
  13. [ QUOTE ]
How hard is it to find Rularuu brutes red-side? They hit with one massive attack with about a 10 second recharge. They're what I used for all the damage badges (blue-side, where you can get infinite repeatable missions with them).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Efficiency Expert Pither has a mission that takes you to the Shard.
  14. Uhmm to get the Master badge the SF must be set to No Defeats AND No Temp powers. So if the No defeat part is a bust you still dont have temp powers.

Is there enough endurance recovery from Quick Recovery under Willpower to bypass getting Stamina?

Barely, but yes. You are better off with QR+Stamina.

    Gravity Question

    [ QUOTE ]
Elec's -recovery and end draining isn't anywhere near enough to scratch an AV's endurance (since they resist endurance drain and recovery halt). Against an Elite Boss, though, the end drain is great.

... But yeah, it's still much better then energy for dominators, in terms of damage potential. But then, energy blast in general could probably use a bit of help.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The energy set for doms as a whole could use a tuneup/buff. My mind/energy-SP3 dom does fine with it but I know it could be so much better if the set were improved. Too bad Electricty wasn't available when I rolled that character. By the time Electric was avail it was way too late to want to recreate it. Still, it does fine.

Hey, just a random silly question. Why can't we pick up these quantum guns? Surely some mob along the way died/was arrested with minimal damage to the blaster! I mean, it would make the Imperious Task Force a little bit easier.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I believe there's a mission villain side that gets you a Quantum gun. Yep, there sure is

You can only use it against Kheldians and Nictus, though, and that's a small part of the total baddies in the game. Also, it's apparently not usable on players. (I was actually holding on to it just to test it out, but ah well. )

You get it as a villain specifically to take down a Warshade boss or a PPD Awakened boss (actually, Sunstorm, too!) at the end of the mission arc in which you get it. I suppose there really is no reason to give a Kheldian player such a weapon specially for a mission since so many of their missions are against other Kheldians. Plus, maybe it's just that the idea of the Quantum weapons are so abhorrent to Kheldians that they would never even consider using it on a "brother", even one that is an enemy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention that a Kheld carrying a gun that is empowered to hurt Khelds seems oxymoronic. It would be like Superman carrying Kryptonite in his pocket.
  19. I can offer:

    L50 SS/Stone armor brute

I'd offer more to choose from but since I need to finish the Marshal Accolade on that toon, and since he's Stone Armor....

The Master Run is up still

I want that everyone interest plz post what time is good for then for the next 3-4 days.

If i can get 7 players here in the forum the Master run will start quickly and smooth so none end up running out of time to play.

I was wondering which patrons Brutes usually lean to. Though, for my build, I only have room for one power, but it would also help on deciding which one gives the best missions, as this is my first villain as well. I'm leaning towards Ghost widow atm for gloom to get a little -acc. I'm a DM/ElecArm if that matters. Thanks for any advice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Best missions in terms of interesting story? Or in terms of the name of the Patron Badge? or in terms of speed of first arc completion to get the badge?

I find Scirocco's arcs to be interesting (also can be good for Mu Guardian kills for gladiator badge), and I like his badge name.

In terms of arc speed, I find Black Scorpion to have a rather quick first arc, the only thing is that he takes awhile to give out his communicator code so you run back to him a lot.

Wont' matter what patron you pick now though since they unlocked the patron pools, so that is a good thing.
  22. Or for the cost of say......5000 Architect Tickets you can purcase an Anniversary badge that your character doesn't have. Thus you can obtain it for any character of yours that accumulates enough tickets....or none.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Thanks. Health is what I went with, and those buffs sure looks pretty up there in the Power Stats window, all Perma-like.

A part of me wishes I'd sold it. I'm purpling out the toon that has it, and the 70+ millions I saw this thing going for would have guaranteed another Purple. However, I figured there's a reason this things goes for this much...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tough call, money for one more purple vs. the constant boost given by the IO in ur health.

Still you're better off with the IO installed, IMO

(the PvP hold sets have 7.5, for instance)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Might want to look into the Basilisk's Gaze set. The PvP set requies 5 in the IO set for the 7.5% Bonus, BG only requires 4.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Might be quicker to get the BG set too
  25. [ QUOTE ]
minimum recharge for this so called "SP3" is 123.5

I have a fire/psy "SP3" i made for under 500 mil when AE took a dive, no purples, 4 LotG's, so at the markets now it might be to the upward of 700 mil. Alot of money, but nowhere near impossible. if u purple it out, it could be in the upwards of 1.5 bil, but for this "sp3" its not impossible for small budgets to acheive "sp3"

    [/ QUOTE ]

It all depends how far you're willing to go, and there is nothing "so called" about SP3.
