Quote:To be honest I can't see anyone really exploding on the forums about a badge that can only be reasonably earned via AFK farming (Immortal and Empath) if the badge requirement were reduced to an amount that makes it possible to get it withOUT AFK farming. Dropping the zero from Empath was a good start, but its still quicker to get it via AFK Farms, just less farm time. It's possible there may be a few idiots out there like that, but I don't think it'll happen as much as you'd think.
Case in point I earned Empath about a month before Posi finally got around to lowering the insanely high 1 billion HPs healed requirement. Now obviously when I first learned about that reduction I had a moment where I thought to myself, "Heh, that figures..." But I never once jumped out here on the forums and whined or ranted about it because I knew that change was very looooog overdue and very justified.
In fact there were many people over the years (including myself) who publicly stated on these forums that even though they had the billion HPs Empath done that they would be in favor it being lowered because that requirement was silly-stupid from day one regardless. I suspect that this testimony from these badgers were part of the reason Posi finally decided to lower the requirement. Let's just suffice it to say I -never- believed his excuse about it being a "decimal point typo" that took 4 years to fix.
So will it be momentarily annoying for me to learn that maybe other badges like Immortal or Leader end up being reduced? Sure it will. But again I wouldn't complain about it here because I realize that there are badges like that out there which are unfairly beyond the reach of most people who play this game. Obviously I hope that they don't make top badges too trivial to earn, but there are at least a few like that which could be fine tuned without too much objection.
Now Popular and Leader which are only gained via normal game play being lowered might cause a few of the badge holders to raise their eyebrows but they hopefully won't start a flame war over those hideous requirements being dropped down. (1 billion/2billion.....ugh)
But some of the kill x-amount badges being lowered may hack off a few, but oh well.
Yes, Illusionist is one of them, I wouldn't mind seeing the badges from Rikti ship raids being lowered, 35 bombs and 10 kills of the Rikti GM? Hm.....how about 10 bombs and 5 kills? Not everyone is a huge fan of the raids or has a PC that can handle the raids. (My PC can, just not a big fan of them). The Rikti monkey badge.....eh, cruise through RWZ and you can get it fairly easily. 500 Skulls and 100 Skull bosses? Skull boss count is fine but 500 normal skulls? Fabricator: does it really need to be 10,000 craftings especially since they nerfed Brainstorms? Restore Brainstorms or lower the amount.
What I'm hoping for is:
1. All epic damage/heal/money badges reduced to more obtainable amounts.
2. Fabricator being reduced or the restoration of Brainstorms counting toward it.
3. Rikti Raid badges reduced
4. Any "kill x-amount" badge with over 100 as the criteria being reevaluated. 200 is pushing it for some, anything higher enters the realm of the ridiculous.
5. PVP rep badges being reduced. Not everyone is keen on PVP before and after ish 13, do they still need to be 100 and 400? -
Quote:Eh, eventually some will post ranting about their hard work being negated. Wait until the list of badge changes is posted. It's nice to not see the "they've negated all my hard work" that occured when they lowered the Zookeeper badge.
3-4 hours running the same mission over and over again is a perfect definition of farming. Since they've frowned on it for all other rewards, it's nice to see that they are re-looking at badge farming. -
Quote:Glad I used my Brainstorms when they counted....
One change that irks me was towards the Fabricator badge. By making it so that converting Brainstorm ideas do not work towards making inventions... well for me I have plenty of brainstorm ideas that I wont use... yet.
10000 units when the buffs you create (through empowerment table) cannot be deleted/removed even is hampering the way towards Fabricator even more.
Since when can't buffs from the empowerment station be deleted? Bring up your powers, check for temp powers and right click delete power, unless a recent patch nerfed that. -
Quote:Well for blue side the most sadistic accolade requirement I can think of is the 500 illusionists. I don't mind that badge being part of an accolade so much as I mind the 500 amount. For redside perhaps the most sadistic is damage badge #4, again for me its not the badge as much as the amount for the badge.I can confirm this via prior PMs with Synapse. I was complaining to him specifically about some of the insane requirements for accolades (I cited 500 Illusionists, Marcone Capos, 200 Cold Demons, and 10 mil damage badges). I won't quote my long diatribe, but here is part of Synapse's response:
Since Posi's tweet made it public knowledge, I figure it's okay now.
I just want to add that in addition to being overjoyed at the fact that they're going to be adjusting some of the sadistic accolade requirements, I'm again grateful that we have a dev team that communicates directly with their player base. I've never used any other software product, game or not, that had a dev team that was so accessible.
EDIT: before anyone asks, no Synapse did not share any specific changes with me, only that he intended to address the issue. Also note that in Synapse's initial PM he figured on getting them into Going Rogue, but Posi's tweet mentions them being in i16. Woot!
Looks like though I was right in stopping work on the kill x-amount badges until after ish 16, I'll just wrap TF/SF, Accomp and Giant Monster badges for now.
Also kudos for getting them into ish 16, now we can hopefully finish all pre-GR badges before GR comes out -
Well all I know is that my alts have all pretty much stopped working the kill x-amount badges that are over 100 in requirements, pending news about the changes. TF and Accomp badges though are being dealt with.

Quote:I don't care if they want to claim all the Epics have decimal errors as long as they are lowered from Nigh Impossible to More Apt to Achieve. With the expected changes to how sidekicking's going to work I'd expect a reduction/change to how the Mentor badges are going to work at the very least.
They might lower some of the other top epics (i.e Leader, Immortal) the same way they fixed Empath. I wonder if Posi will try to claim those were "decimal point" typos all along as well.
Empath was a nice start but all the epic badges be they damage, money (especially money), healing, crafting (fabricator), pvp 400 rep, need to be reevaluated.
Certain "kill x-amount badges" also. Illusionist, Rikti Monkey, Prisoners, .... -
Issue 16 will be released when it is released and cannot be released any earlier.

Perhaps but not everyone likes the Hami Raid for whatever reason. Unless they decide to make it count for beating Hami in a raid as well as the LGTF to qualify. Granted LGTF is Hami-Lite but it's still Hami.
-
Awhile back we got the "dual aura" in the form of say: Electric eyes/electric fists for example.
Now with ish 16 coming, let's kick costume customization up another notch with having an actual second aura so that a character could have for example:
First Aura: flaming fists/flaming eyes
Second aura: electric body
Also a new aura idea to add in: "Hami Aura". By this I mean a fully color customizable hami aura like the one you get when you defeat Hamidon at the end of mission 4 of the LGTF. Make it unlockable at L30 when you do your Aura mish or else a bonus for achieving 50.
Thus you could then have 2 auras, with one for example as: electric body or electric eyes and the second one as the Hami aura -

Quote:Mileage varies with everyone, far as I'm concerned fire/psi is still viable as a farmerI really hope that's not the case, as I really love to farm with dominators. It's just a lot more fun to do for me. I do have a SS/SD brute as a beastly farmer, but I definitely preferred my dom.
Perhaps I just need to tweak my build a bit as I pretty much relied on PSW and drain psyche only from the /Psi set. Any other powers worth using now? -
Quote:Not really seeing a performance loss on mine. But mileage does vary.Yes, it can still farm but not close to as good as it used to. I switched to my SS/Fire for my main farmer while pre-i15 it was the other way around.
So presuming for the sake of arguement that fire/psi is totally gimp now..........what other combos of current dom power sets are shining as a farmer?
Fire/Fire perhaps? -
Quote:Fire-psi can still farm despite or perhaps in spite of all the changes the psi set took. My fire-psi is perm dom/perm hasten and is doing just fine.So silly me just found out today that i15 nerfed /Psi's psychic shockwave into near crap and I am no longer able to farm on my Fire/Psi as I once used to (was wondering for a while why I never saw a single Fire/Psi farmer since I came back a month ago :P). I was planning on bringing him out again in i16 to farm nemesis, but I'm not sure if /Psi is a good farming choice now. Is /Psi still the farming king or should I try out a different secondary?
Though I am looking at the new Earth set that is mentioned coming in ish 16 as a possible new farm set.. -
Quote:Hmmmm as I recall my alts have all secured the architect dayjob......need to locate the spreadsheet... also any alt of mine that first entered the AE building immediately obtained the map badge. Are you including the dayjob and/or the exploration badge when you do that? If you somehow avoid those 2 badges, would you still earn #25? To make things easy, what if you start a new character and see if #10 dings on 10, or if it dings on 9+explore (for example).
May need to make a quick test toon later today on one of the servers and check it out. -
Quote:Dunno how, but I've been seeing ding on alts of mine that I spin through a quick mish I made that lets you get the badges. Run once in Test and once in Live, plus in Test I self destruct to obtain Virtual Victim. One of those is hero-only. One of those is villain-only.
That makes only 25 (including the XXV badge) available to each side, not 26.
I still have XXV because I earned it before the wipe. Since it's still a valid badge, it wasn't removed, even though I didn't have 25 other AE badges. I now have all of them, which totals 25 (including XXV).
The question is, how would you normally earn the last, 25th badge, if the 25th badge is for earning 25 badges? (lol)
If it's not from the dayjob or exploration badge, I'd assume they intend people to switch sides with going rogue and earn that last hero/villain badge that way to make 25, and then earn XXV as the 26th badge. Otherwise, I see no way of earning it. -
Quote:Y'know I can honestly say that among the many experiments I've done on live and test that testing that proc ad nauseum on a Dom isn't one of them...... not sure I'd want to rely on the procs for recharge for permadom of any stage but it would be interesting.Don't want to thread-jack here but seems my question sorta links into perma dom.
I'm assuming Earth Assault's Tremor and Fissure both do knockdown. Therefore you can slot them with the Force Feedback: Chance for +Recharge. I have this in my Fire/Kin's Fissure and it works wonderfully, however, if I put it in Tremor and Fissure in an Earth dom and they both fire, would they stack?
And if that IO reliably Procs off every-other time it goes off (it has been for me) how much recharge would you need then? (Assume for every 2 Fissures / 2 Tremors or a cycle of Tremor->Fissure it goes off.) If it doesn't stack it would just reset the timer yes?
Boy do I want Fire/Earth right now! -

Quote:Glad to be of help.DBZ knock off? No, other than the Warshade that was a joke that somehow managed to get played to lvl 50, all my toons are original ideas. What I meant was that his post triggered an idea into my head that didn't necessarily have anything to do with DBZ. All it takes is one word, one sentence, or one paragraph and ideas come flowing through.
And even if I was going to make a DBZ knockoff, I'd be much more inclined to make it with a scrapper or blaster than a dominator. Goku never had a slew or sleeps, stuns, or holds to use at his disposal.
Thanks for the info though. -
Most odd, I've still gotten the XXV Badge on alts after the badge purge of ish 15. You sure you didn't overlook one?
-
Quote:Good luck with your idea, contrary to what some others might think, going 125%+ can still be worth it if you think its worth it and will have fun with the character, regardless of what some may.You just gave me an awesome idea for a dominator I've been wanting to build but putting off. Thanks!
Though with the changes to Doms now, going to 90% global recharge + 6 slot hasten for Permdom+Permhasten aka Ascended Permadom/Permadom 2 is more then sufficient to make the dom a formidable force....
.....regardless if it's mind/energy, fire/psi or whatever else you plan to make. -
Quote:It's possible that once the Tanker/Scrapper versions go Live they can perhaps later on work on the reside versions. Frankly though as much as I'd like to see the red side versions get reordered so as to have Energize earlier, I think we can manage. Also this change to electric armor just might be what makes me put the batteries back into my electric brute who has been gathering dust for some time.Ugh, this Energize reordering thing strikes me as unfair. While it may be a technical difficulty, it's just unacceptable to realize that the power is needed earlier and just leave it be for the redside archetypes. Just because its easier to implement it with the creation of a "new" powerset doesn't justify slighting the players who have had to deal with the pre buffed set for so long.

Quote:The Midnight Club has a badge test to get in. RWZ has a level test to get in. We know the level test for Hazard Zones are going away, so, a level 1 can walk into RWZ.
The Midnight Club and Cimerora are not technically Hazard Zones. It would be hasty to assume any of the level restrictions on these zones is going away. We just don't know yet.
When the Mission Transporter was allowing level 1 toons to get into Cimerora (now, anyone under 35 is auto-TP'd out), they couldn't join the ITF becuase TFs have their own minimum level requirement. Nowhere in Posi's announcement was there any indication that that was going away. Assume that TFs will remain exactly the way they are except that SSKing will make everyone within one level of each other.
That will remain the same.
I'm pretty sure team-quitters are auto-booted from missions now.
The rules for IO Bonuses aren't changing. See here for those rules.
Nothing. They remain the same (presumably, barring an announcement otherwise), except that SSKing will bring everyone to within one level of each other.
This is important to remember since it's a theme of many questions: The removal of minimum level for many zones is not a removal of all minimum level requirements in the game.
The Hazard Zones get their level requirement removed from what Posi posted but he stated that things like PVP will retain their level requirements.
I would think that Ouroborus still retains the L25 minimum along with access to Cimerora but the super side kick should be able to allow lowbies to get into those areas....of course the lowbie still needs to have run the Midnight Arc for the qualifying badge. -
My understanding is that if you are a on a team and an L35+ has the star and sets the mission you are SK'd and can now enter the zone and travel through it. Leave the team and if you are below 35 you are lunch meat for all the enemies in the zone.

Quote:Super Sidekicking?: Big Smile on face.(Which reminds me, weve added new features to the in-game Email system to either shut it off entirely, or only receive emails from people on your friends list and/or people in your Supergroup. Another step in the battle against annoying in-game spam.)
Badges being reevaluated in light of new Sidekicking?: Excellent
Bridging being eliminated in new system?: Most Excellent
Satisifaction of being able to SHUTDOWN In-Game Emails: PRICELESS -
Quote:Or if it is an alt that you haven't used in awhile that isn't 50 and has a lot of patrol XP, just go get killed over and over and over again, the debt is auto payed by the patrol XP and you get badge progress. Great way to reach Debt Badge #4 fast on the redside for the accolade.http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Debt
Unfortunately, it appears to be a little outdated.
And for clarification, you get the badge for working off the debt, not for simply dying and accruing debt. The number of deaths needed will be skewed if you are at or near the debt-cap at any particular time, not to mention the number of times a person might die at other levels as well.
Also: A trick to earn a little extra credit for this badge at little to no effort is to simply get yourself killed before you log off. Any patrol-XP you would have earned will automatically work off the debt for you and count toward the badge when you log back in later. (Yes, even if you are lvl 50.)
