Fire-Wp or SS/Fire or Sonic Kin, I think they all need it.

Quote:This. All my alts have email shut down and my ignore lists was about 90% cleaned out. A few of course had to remain but that's how it goes.you can go into your options and set your email to only come from friends or sg members. then you can clean out your igonre box and only keep those in there that are worth it instead of filling it with RMT spammers now.
I doubt that at the time the ignore list space was allocated that they anticipated gold farmers/RMT spams much less that it would become as problematic as it was. -
Quote:Yes it's your $15 and yes you can play as long as you don't negatively impact others but there is that little thing called Terms of Service that we all agree to when you sign in to the game. All right. I was enjoying some double XP action and doing my RP thing, going from one team to the next.
Then I get to the last team of the night, and lo and behold, I recognize a character who frequents Pocket D. I was excited, thinking, "Oh boy, a fellow RPer. This should be fun."
She basically spent half the mission bugging me on why based my villain on a cartoon character. I asked her not to start that squabbling nonsense, but she retorts that she'll start it every time she sees a "knock off character". She demands to know why I'd knock off a character rather than creating a wholesomely original idea. I replied, that this was my "fun" character. She asks, "why can't you do both?" [have fun and do an original character]. I ended the conversation by saying, "This is how I define my own fun."
Now, my personal feeling on this... I've played nearly fifteen different characters throughout my playtime in CoX. And of that fifteen, I'd say that three of them were blatant knockoffs whom I just wanted to have fun with. As of now, I really only play four of those characters with any regularity. Two of them are wholly original characters whom I cultivated quite thoroughly. And of the other two, one is "inspired" by a cartoon character, and the other is just a blatant rip off a video game character. A note on that last character, I have more fun getting recognized by players than actually doing any real role playing with him.
Now, I pay my $15 dues every month just like everyone else. I'd say that I have every right to play the game how I wish (without negatively impacting the play of others) without warranting others to tell me how I should play. If that means one day, I'll play an original creation, or another day, I'll play the character inspired from one of my favorite cartoons, it's my $15. And if it really bothers you that much, then I believe the best thing you can do is to not interact with me, rather than actively trying to ruin my good time.
Now please educate me here... Am I wrong for thinking this?
Terms of Service is rather clear about copyright issues, but its also clear about harassment.
If your character is truly "inspired" and not a clone then you don't need to worry. However the person that was nagging you constantly was breaking rules of conduct in regards to in game behavior.
Here's an example: one of my many alts has been retooled by me since Booster Pack 1 to 3 came out. He as an average size, normally attired civilian form that he uses and when its time for battle he uses the Lighting Bolt costume transformation emote to shift into a more heroic form for battle. Yes this form is bigger, stronger looking and clad in costume, but it looks nothing like any copyrighted toons. Some jerk tried bothering me about it, told him that transforming in a bolt of a lighting isn't a trademark concept per se as there are multiple characters that do so and all from different companies and since I looking nothing like any trademarked character there was nothing to complain about. The jerk kept it up, they were told by me to cease, they didn't, they got ignored by me and that chat log was appended to my complaint petition against them. Problem solved.
For reference: THOR, Captain Marvel/Shazam, and both original and 2002 He-man transform via lightning/energy bolt striking their form.
I even asked support about the use of the term Super-Hero and Super-Villain as character names, given that there has never been any comic character by those names. Answer was that use of the word "Super" as part of a name wasn't trademarked and that the two terms are not trademarked either. Only restriction of course is to not have them look like trademark toons.
Its a fine line between being an infringement and a homage. Only support can decide when you cross it. -
Quote:It's likely a bug where IF DXP were implemented in the AE that it might also UNDO the recent AE/XP changes thus restoring all the boss only farm missions to their full value before ish 16.The MOTD basicly says sorry it wont work for the weekend.
I personally have to feel this isnt a bug. They would have tested the double xp, and it would have come up in time to fix it. It worked perfectly well last time around. And personally my expectations would be that if you broke it, and there is an event like this, no one goes home until its fixed. We all have or have had jobs with insane deadlines, had to make accomodations in our private lives for work, i see no reason why these devs should be any different. If they knew it wasnt working, guess were pulling an alnighter to get it fixed would have been my response. That is if it was truely and accident.
Now if it wasnt, and it was planned but i was to chicken **** to say this is how i wanted it, I would have snuck a message into the MOTD late at night that said it wont work, then i would have went home and enjoyed my weekend. Wonder what it seems like is going on here? -
Quote:The "Mystic Aspect" takes the form of a randomly chosen GM of the game when the banners are destroyed. Also this is something new for the event. The new giant monsters are just the old giant monsters? It'd be cool if they were new and there was a bit of a new look. This event is pretty tired and needs something new. The Winter's Event also needs a new look.
Hm, the Mystic Aspect takes a random gigantic form....reminds me of Ghostbusters when they were asked to choose the form Gozer would take. -
Ill bring my bot/trap MM for this.

Quote:Ah no problem. Main thing against us was at least half the team was in need of some sleep time, myself included. No soup for you!
The SF was fun and definitely a tad long. Sorry if I kept pushing the fight forward before everyone was ready; I tend to try to keep my Fury as high as possible....
Next run will be better -
Perhaps Dev Choice/Hall of Fame missions have DXP?
-
Quote:Yes the disparity between the blue and red versions of the Reichsman TF/SF are pretty glaring. I wouldn't mind if they took the redside version down for a complete overhaul if needed to fix the MM temp as well as possibly redo the ambushes. Please note: redo does not necessarily mean nerf.It was really fun last night Mr E!
Sorry I was kind of a sucky player last night. I was sleepy going into it. I drank a SF Red Bull about half way thru, but it didn't do anything. Add to that the lag my computer loves to have on villain SF's, and it was hard for me to do much. :smirk:
I like this TF, but the final mission still annoys me versus the hero side. Those ambushes just suck.
Better yet, why can't the temp power villains get from the machine include the dimensional guns from Blueside? Villains can get the guns in the previous mission then the machine buffs the villain as well as charge up the guns. -
I don't think it's bugged so much as how it is designed. The proc works in Quick Recovery/Stamina and if you slot it into any attack power it can give stamina back to the enemy.

Quote:Now that was funny, but I can see him being Generic'd due to DC Comics having a character named Ultraman, an evil Superman from another universe that apparently gets a new power whenever exposed to Kryptonite.

This, especially with the badge for emanators now 100 instead of 500, you would have to work hard to avoid getting the badge now in the Eden Trial

Quote:I don't mind 3 days late vs. broken.I had the same thing happened to me and now I get mine 3 days later than I should. Of course CS won't correct this problem even though it happened on there end.
It took me a little while to even get a response, I had to call them to get it resolved.Sorry you had to call them though, that does seem a bit odd.

I'm down, either SS/Fire Brute, Sonicc-Kin Corr, or Stone Armor Brute

Quote:It's not I16 as far as I'm aware, Nericus, it's an ongoing and intermittent bug. I had a related (and bizarre) issue some months ago, so all I can advise you is to be patient with Support. "Almost a week now" isn't actually that long (although I know it seems like an eternity to you while you wait to hear back...), so I'd suggest giving them a few more days or even another week, and then if you haven't heard anything, first check your PlayNC account page and your toons for the badge, and if nothing's changed, I'd say at that point you might want to follow up with Support.
In any event, good luck with your situation!
Support responded saying they cleared it up. Logged in before maintenance brought the servers down. Badge awarded. -

Quote:Oh trust me, its been filed for almost a week now. Just looking to see if maybe ish 16 and all the badge changes may have messed up the Vet badges.Yeah, I had one award late about 7 or 8 months ago. You need to file a petition with support to have them look at it and award it.

An understandable concern. Do you have any alternates in mind?
-
I've been working with support, but all they say is they are reviewing the situation.....
In any event has anyone else of late been due to receive a Vet Badge and not gotten it? I've rechecked my account time since the last one and I am definitely past due. -
Quote:Are you referring to Malleus as being the "book of witch hunting" which heavily influenced witch hunts back in the day?Something else I think really should be changed - the title of the "Malleus" badge - it's in very bad taste, and is being trivial about a seriously evil thing - it could be called something like maybe "Spellbreaker" or "Disenchanted" instead.
I know they changed the "Untouchable" badge art from the Italian flag to a brick wall instead after it was pointed out it was in bad taste, so I hope they could also change this one.
A google and wikipedia check reveals many different uses/meanings of Malleus, from the book of witch hunting to a bone in the ear. -
Quote:As for Hayata.....in the English dub, when Zoffy came to take him home, he tells Ultraman that he will signal Hayata that Ultra will return and separated them, despite the fact that they needed to be merged for Hayata to live. In the actual version, Zoffy tells Ultra to let Hayata die so that he can come home, Ultra refuses and states he would rather fully give his life to Hayata thus dying himself. Zoffy is impressed by this nobility and states that he actually brought TWO life forces with him and gives one to Hayata. He then separates them. Hayata is a bit confused and seems to not remember things at first but has he watches them fly away it looks like he remembers.Great post - I really only watched the original & I also remember one came on in the '90s that I tried watching, but it was just plain bad... (I'm thinking that it was Tiga).
Good to see Hyata made it back into the series.
In the third series, Return of Ultraman, Hayata makes a guest appearance and transforms thus showing that he and Ultra are in fact merged again....reasons not stated, but that's ok.
In 1996, as part of the anniversary of Ultra, the original Ultra makes a crossover into an episode of TIGA, Hayata appears in an Ultra-story that was part of a live action Sailor Moon style series episode, and they also used footage from the old series and a new script to make a 40th episode called Revive! Ultraman! which occurs a few weeks after Zetton defeated the original. Hayata and Ultra are recombined but their power and confidence is low. The aliens that defeated him return and he has to suck it up and fight the resurrected monsters using a new trick called Ultra Separation where he replicates himself to fight the various global threats at once. After that Zetton 2 is attacking the base and Ultra is losing, when the science whiz of team reveals a new device that that shoot into Ultra's warning light, a solar energy booster that restores his power and then some. He then easily beats Zetton and flies off. -
Quote:Yes, Hayata and all othe human hosts have appeared in other Ultra series, also the actor has had a long career outside of Ultra and has returned in other Ultra series as other characters.Great post - I really only watched the original & I also remember one came on in the '90s that I tried watching, but it was just plain bad... (I'm thinking that it was Tiga).
Good to see Hyata made it back into the series.
As to the one you saw in the 90's, was it set in Austraila, or was the Ultra Red/Blue/Silver with gold shoulder epaulettes?
Or worse yet, was this series entirely in english with an American cast? Did the Ultra have bright blue eyes?
