Pre-gratz Snow! Pre-welcome to the club!

Also, my Bot-Storm MM is now not only a Lord of the Storm, but also now a complete Day Job collector!

Well done! Welcome to the DJ Completed club!
  5. Some MM's can get by without stamina. My bot/poison retains stamina in both his builds simply due to Poison being an end hog at times.

To each their own, when I team and there is a healer on the team then I focus more on keeping my bots online and bringing the firepower and let the healer do their thing.

Believe me the opinion that Poison's trap power should be like the /trap set has been stated many times over the years. Yet it seems they decided that Noxious gas fits the bill instead.

    Congratz!

Also I can now add my bot/ff super tankermind to the completed list.

Yah that's what I meant, good for pets, only for pets, stinky pets.
The Poison Trap power of the poison set is more like sleep gas, its a power that can be easily skipped, but to each their own.

Alkaloid is meant to help support your pets and keep them going more then it is to help your teammates.

As to the Op, cry moar plz.

Quite true. Also I located this back long ago when we had a joke thread about Bud Light's Real Men of Genius:

    Mr. Petless Wonder Mastermind

Bud Light Presents Real Men of Genius
    (Real Men of Genius)

Today we salute you, Mr. Petless Wonder Mastermind.
    (Mr. Petless Wonder Mastermind)
You've just rolled your new Mastermind and equipped it with weapons but not with its greatest asset, the pets!
    (Pets are for wimps!)
Dual pistols, bow and arrows, laser rifles and coming soon; flaming whips! You feel that you are ready to face any foe with no pets!
    (My weapons are shooting blanks!)
You're fully prepared to solo to level 50 since you will be never be welcome on any teams!
(Kick this giiiimmmmpppp off the team!)
So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, Mr. Petless Wonder Mastermind as you enter the Guiness book of records for most deaths in an MMORPG!

This means I automatically get at least the first two count badges with zero effort. Not much significance getting "milestone" type badges when I did nothing to actively earn them. Likewise my main badgers have had 500+ badges for years (and will likely be past 750 within days of I17's launch) so adding count badges at those levels don't really do much for me either. *shrugs*

The other part of my downplaying is that the only fundamental reason to worry about getting a particular "epic" count badge is to use as a metric for measuring badge related e-peen length. Let's face it, they're just there to be able to say to other people "I have such-n-such badge". Now obviously one could argue that you could do that with any hard-to-get badge, but that's really the -primary- reason why the count badges ever existed in the first place. They have no intrinsic value or justification beyond that. They are the quintessential e-peen badges. That just makes them seem an extra bit cheesy to me.

Am I looking forward to eventually having 1,000+ badges on my main badging characters? Of course I am.
But I didn't really need a new semi-artificial count badge to make that goal any sweeter for me.
I could do without the count badges myself. Nice to have I suppose but not quintessential. As to them being the quintessential e-peen badges, well one could also say that the Vet Badges fit that description also.

I've been here since beta, so to me any badge you want to call Epic is a plus to me, I think its Epic that many of us have been here and are still here since the beginning of this game.

I can't really say if I'll switch sides or not with my main, it all depends on what it costs me. I've been with my SG for over 5 years and would hate to have to leave the group just to grab a few badges. Not counting losing my rank, my join date, my presitge totals for the SG..etc...etc. So if that is what it costs, then I will stay strictly as a Hero.

I will just take advantage of switching side with my alts. Just have to wait and see how it plays out I suppose.
Yes, I too am waiting to see how switching affects badging. As to all the new map badges that are coming.....eh. I can see new map badges in the Praetorian zones since they are new zones, but why add more badges to the existing zones? That seems to me like they are throwing a bone out there to keep the badge collectors occupied, especially ones that have wrapped up all current badges including dayjobs.

New achievment/accomplishment badges from new missions and story arcs is fine with me as that is more incentive to play the new stuff. I'm not too hip though to zipping through all the current zones to pick up newly added map badges. Of course I will, it is just not my idea of a swell time since I've long since traveled all the zones and have pretty much been there and done that and would rather check out the new Praetorian zones.

Ick, just had a thought.....map badges inserted into the shadow shard zones?

New kill x-amount badges? I expect those with GR, can't see adding any to the game now unless they throw in some 5th column kill badges. Hm, be nice incentive to run the Khan/Barracuda TF again.

New gladiator badges? What for? Can't see any need for those.

    New invention badges? Meh.

New Ouroborus badges? Can't see much need for those to be increased. I just hope that side switching allows us to access the arcs and missions from the other side via Ourborus.

New Day jobs? Please, no. There are more then enough of those and I can't see us being allowed to get the other side's dayjobs since that could be double dipping.

New Accolades: those I don't mind. Some of them make for nice badge titles and if they give an extra power, even better.

New Master badges: Please, no. 3 Mo badges per side is enough, imo.

I can't see ish 17 adding any, we have DJ's for markets, tailor, stamina, regen, recharge, movement, inspirations, recipies, salvage drops, enhancement drops, architect, debt reduction........

now for GR maybe some new DJ badge titles, but if they give the same effect as any of the current ones, they may not be applicable to toons that have their own version of it already.

Example: I believe on Blueside its the Shard DJ badge that gives a rocket pack, and for red the GV badge gives a rocket pack. So if a villain goes Blue, I doubt they would need to sit in the shard to reearn the badge vs. the badge name changing to accomodate their new alignment.

    Who knows?

  15. So basically its early access to the power sets, or wait and get the power sets plus month game time, plus the costume goodies all at once.

Well strictly speaking anyone in Closed or Open beta has had access to DP already and may get access to test and play with the Demon Summoning powers. Granted its test and not live but you could still log into test right now and have fun with DP and hope that you get an invite to Closed Beta for the Demon powers.

I'd still like to see some pics of some of the upcoming costumes and auras.

  18. Spoken in the booming voice of the Deus Ex Machine from Matrix Revolutions:

But once the spawns from inside the room stop, we will re-enter and ingage Reichs. Non-brutes will proceed to around the machine, brutes will engage riechs on the big 5th logo, far enough that his PbAoEs wont hit the non-brutes. This will get the spawns to run into the brutes to keep the numbers down on the squishies. No need to completely eliminate the spawns that dont come from inside the room.

Aside from that, IMHO, team size 7 is way easier than team size 8. Far fewer bosses/spawn. Made the first mission much easier with that many less Wardens.

    Net
Remember he calls for backup twice, so once in the tunnels perhaps taking down the entire first wave, then getting him to call his second wave and eliminating the frontal attacks then moving back in to face him while some deal with the ones that come from the tunnel may not be a bad idea.
