I found the wiki page but cant see if this is updated for i16 or not

    Many Thanks

After I rolled a new elec/elec scrapper, eventually I headed to Steel Canyon to do the Midnighter Club arc, and when I finished I noticed the merit reward for that was now 8 merits, whereas before I believe it was only 4.

This. I noticed and thought I was seeing things.
  3. Hooray indeed. Cooler heads have prevailed.

So much for the dooooooomsayers who predicted more widespread nerfing of other enemy groups following the Freakshow nerf.

Edit: Primal: What's up with your cat? That avatar seriously weirds me out.

    AE Zone

Not a bad idea at all.

My idea was to allow access to AE from several zones by people on the same team, just like people on the same team can enter door missions from alternate versions of the same zone. And make a global channel specifically for finding AE teams, so people in the channel can see it from whatever zone they're in. This way not everyone participating in AE has to be in the same zone spamming broadcast.

Your idea may be better though, because people won't stop spamming broadcast, no matter what, and it would keep AE broadcast spam hidden from the tender eyes of CoX newbies, at least until they intend to seek it out. This way not all new people would get sucked into AE first thing, thinking it is the entire game. Of course, this is also why the AE farmers will be against your idea.

Edit: As for putting it in Pocket D, well, I'll let the people who frequent Pocket D tell you why it shouldn't go there.

    *The light bulb comes on*

Ok, I get it now. I always lol'ed at the AE farmers in Atlas calling for specific powersets for their teams. Now I see there was a method to their madness.

Wouldn't this be exploitative, just as much as bubble or meow farms, although in a different way?

First of all, she's talking about ghosts, not Carnies, and secondly, ALL Carnies, except for the Archvillians (Vanessa DeVore has her own version that adds -Recovery, extremely nasty) have Psychic Visage.

1.) I'm trying to access Harvey Maylor so I can buy my level 45 magic SOs. Unfortunately, he insists on having me talk to the AE architect contact. I went to see the AE architect, and ran through the tutorial but still no dice. Is there anything else I need to do, or anyone else that will sell me 45 magic SOs? For the record, I don't do any AE stuff at all, I level the old fashioned way through missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Buying enhancements from contacts is a sure route to the poorhouse. Try Ghost Falcon near the Ferry in PI (you'll have to do one mission for him first), or even the Midnighter Store in the Midnighters Club. Possibly also the Quartermaster in the Vanguard base.

This thread title made me think of something. I think it would be awesome to enter a mode at the AE computer to watch other people play your arcs. It would have to be realtime but there could be a light that comes on when someone is running your arc.

Claws doesn't bore me like DB does. There's something about being "pushed" into combo use that annoys me. And by pushed, I mean, "why not get the extra effects? You fool! You missed that attack and broke your combo!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

I have both a DB/WP and a Claws/SR. The DB/WP is 50 only through sheer stubbornness to stick with it. Locked into combo use is probably my biggest gripe with the set. No flexibility, unless you like gimping yourself by not getting the combo bonuses. My Claws/SR is only 36, but she's on track to kick more butt than my DB once she gets to 50.

Does anyone have a list of which Forced Teaming missions (aka click multiple glowies simultaneously) have been fixed to do away with this requirement?

I am working Phillipa Mereaux's missions (just finished her arc), and was hoping to finally get the War Wall Defender mission next. Unfortunately, the only mission being offered is this:

    [ QUOTE ]
We've got a dangerous situation brewing. The Council has been collecting data on heroes for some time, and we believe they have a full list of all Super Groups registered with the Paragon City government, complete with the powers and weaknesses of each member. What's worse, the Rikti found out about it. They're moving on the Council base as we speak. I need you to stop the Rikti raid and destroy the Council's files. The Council protects its most precious info with heavy duty security protocols, so you'll need a teammate to help you crack into their network.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I had heard that a few of these types of missions had been fixed so they are soloable, but can't find a list of which ones have had the treatment.

Since I can't use a mission drop for another day or two, I don't want to take this one just in case it is still forced teaming, but this of course means I can't continue with this contact.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From the description text, it sounds like you'll still need help with this one. Even worse are the ones just like that that have a time limit.

What I usually do is go through and solo the entire mission except the click glowies then I find someone willing to help me out with the last bit, whether it be an SG mate or a random person in the zone. People are usually pretty easy to convince to help you out if all they have to do is click one glowie and done. Five minutes tops.

I don't like these missions either. This is the first I've heard, though, that they were working on fixing them.

The only change that will need to occur after I-16 goes live is the addition of the brute evasion taunt aura to scrapper SR.

[/ QUOTE ] This. I want it so bad. I'm tired of little [censored] tankers taking my aggro when I know I can handle it better them then.

    [/ QUOTE ]
First of all, it's "then them"... second of all it's than, not then

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thirdly of all, confront is the one power I never take on any of my scrappers. A taunt aura would just be another power to ignore. It's like giving Kheldians the Flight pool.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I'd advise against Ninjas and Mercs to start off, though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Never did like Ninjas, but what is wrong with Mercs? My Mercs/Traps is my only 50 villain (not surprising since I rarely play any villains) and it took a while to get to 50 due to my rare villain sprees, but it was enjoyable every step of the way.

Tried Ninjas, Thugs and Mercs and liked Mercs the best of those. Necro seems kinda slow to me and Bots just seems cliche. I understand it may just be a personal preference, but the first MM I ever tried was Mercs and I never had a problem with them at all.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
yeah it is nice to see what they have been doing to move this game away from the tight-[censored] brad mcquaid "the few the proud" everquest model (wherein a dearth of content is compensated for by making people run all over the place and other time wasters like being tight with the xp rate) toward something that recognizes people are here to have fun

    [/ QUOTE ]

Relax, relax. Here's your "I Win" button. Happy now?

CoX is the only MMO where I ever hear people whining about "making people run all over the place and other time wasters". C'mon, at most it's one or two 20 second tram rides. I never heard people whining about "making people run all over the place" in MMOs like WoW or EQ where it might take up to ten to twenty minutes crossing a dozen zones to get to your raid location. Spoiled? Yes, I think that's the word.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
and/or think they have the right to ask other players about how to play the game after they just blew through all the content that would have taught them everything they needed to know.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They have that right. It's unfortunate they skipped all the content just to get fifty, but if they show even the slightest willingness to learn how to play the game and you blow them off, then frankly, you're part of the problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The man coulda been talking about AE babies when he said this: "What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it."

I'm an OJI where I work. I'm telling you, the ones who most need to listen to you are the ones least likely to listen to you.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
First off, I'm not 50 yet and I'm not anywhere close to needing to go back and do old arcs. So this is just out of curiousity from reading other forum posts...

When you go back and do old arcs, do you get to go at full power? Or is it like exemplaring? Do you get the arc level influ or level 50? Just curious.

I know so little about it, my questions might not even make sense. >.<

    [/ QUOTE ]

Arcs are arranged by level ranges, i.e. 10-14, 25-29, 30-34, etc.

When you go back, you are exemped to the highest level in that range, and your powers/slots are limited to what you had at that level.

As to rewards, I am not sure on that as I haven't done enough flashback arcs to notice.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I watched a guy inviting to a TF, but he said one must send a tell with your build to be invited. I sent him a reply, "I am built like a brick @#$%house, can I join?" He sent me an invitation, but I declined. This is too much like WoW and the shouts on the trade channel there for dungeon raiders that state one must endure an equipment check. The last guy who checked my "equipment" got a black eye.

So I have to buy the game - AGAIN, just for one little thing? Lame.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At least you CAN buy it. I've bought almost all the packs and extra goodies this game has, but one thing I don't have and really want is the Arachnos cape logo, and afaik, it was only available in the COV Collector's Edition DVD, and I don't believe that is available anywhere.

Would be nice for the Candy Kreeper to be available all year at the door of the chalet in the Pocket D for purchases throughout the year.

Throughout the year we can use Halloween Salvage to open up a new costume slot (and judging by the constant Zombie Apocalypses on Virtue, they've been doing that *a lot* in response to the Super Science Booster cosmetic surgeons); so, it would be nice for there to be a way to spend Candy Canes throughout the year.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

    <QR>

I was playing nice earlier. Here's the deal. I don't like teaming. So when I do it is for a specific reason. If I feel the team will not help me accomplish whatever goal I'm going for, then I will quit. I won't give notice or anything. I'll just quit the team. I personally don't care if it is a PuG radio team or a task force. If I don't think the team directly benefits me in the way I want, then I'll just leave.

Do you know why I will do it that way?

Simple, because I see teams as nothing more than fillers to use as I see fit. When they are no longer useful, I leave. That simple. If the leader has a problem and demands an answer, I'll let him/her know. But I won't be nice about it. I will be extremely blunt and critical.

But Munki, why be so mean? Simple, because I play this game so I can have fun. As long as I'm not breaking any rules, I don't give a crap about anybody else. If somebody's day is worse off because they ran across me, I don't care. I see all of yall as nothing more than fillers on the way to accomplish my goals.

edit: The people that feel they deserve some sort of explanation are self obsessed losers. That simple.

    Wow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yeah, I know.

I just wish he'd tell us the names of all his alts on every server and all those he'll ever make in the future just so I can one star them all. Actually I suppose only one will do, then I can just /ignore him.

Life is way too short to have to deal with self-absorbed [censored] like this. Especially in a game that is supposed to be fun.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Hey, don't worry if you aren't high enough level for the Halloween events, you can just wait a whole year...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Like a lot of us were told last year "sorry, you'll just have to wait a year for your Buster badge..."?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
The devs are not going to block the AE from new players. It's heavily been advertised as an alternative levelling method.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, 7th post, not too bad, tho a bit later than I expected.

The farmers are oh-so-quick to trot this out whenever the topic comes up. "The devs want it this way", when I'm sure if you asked them all now, at least half of them wouldn't. It's possibly the worst possible reason to keep AE, and the best possible reason for moving it OUT of Atlas Park.

"Why yes, my 50's all have Brawl 6-slotted... why do you ask? BTW, could you show me how to get to Crey's Folly? And do you know where I could find Paco Sanchez?"
  24. [ QUOTE ]
I agree with AquaJAWS. Just like proliferation, maybe they're not going to introduce it all at once, and add more powers to color as time goes on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They gotta save something for i17...

  25. [ QUOTE ]
Why did you bid for something that isn't in the game yet?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's a lesson here somewhere, but I'm not seeing it.
