Moved my windows xp drive to my secondary computer. I just put Windows 7 on my main computer now, on a new drive. I liked it when messing around on my secondary, but now I want to give it a long term test, see how it works when used on a daily basis.

I'm shocked to say this about a microsoft product, but I'm impressed. Better than any other version of Windows, and I'm likely to buy it as soon as it's available. Normally I wait a few years for them to iron out the bugs. :P

I have no doubt that once you get your wings and get into PvP things will be quite different, but I couldn't get past the 'dear lord I've done all this stuff to many times' starting areas to get to that point.

Anyway, hi everyone. I wound up pulling an all nighter last night because I couldn't sleep. Tried to lay down several times, but just wasn't tired. The long naps in sunday heat probably had something to do with it...

And it's scary to think I'm older than Emmi and she has grandchilluns while I have no chilluns atall... Then again, that's by plan and intention, so it's only a little scare. REALLY scary would be me with kids.

Oh, and don't worry. I made the coffee today.

Did you try applying any game patches?
Not since last night. I did add a couple of mods, but removing them still gives me the same problem.

Maybe updating will help?
I was using the fake patch before with only occasional crashes. I'm reloading and going to try the official patch and see if that works any better.

Also, try an earlier save and go around other places, do some missions and then go back to Megaton. If you alter the game state enough that might do it.

Tried those things, didn't work. It wouldn't crash anywhere else, just megaton, no matter what character or save file I tried.

OH, is gfwl up? If it is, shut it down. That causes major instabilities.

I never use GFWL unless I am downloading a DLC. And then I move the files to where I can play them without Live running. It is teh suckage.

Well, looks unavoidable. Somehow I screwed up my Fallout 3 game. Every time I enter Megaton now, it immediately crashes to desktop. Not sure what I did to cause it.. but it's a bit of a problem since my main character is currently saved inside the Megaton house...

I tried going to other characters and back to earlier saves and get the same thing. At the very best, I can get into megaton, but I crash within a minute or two.

Oh joy, I get to rip it all out and reinstall again.
