*grabs a can and squirts a silly string turban onto Rad's head*
There ya go! -
No spoilers please, I'm waiting till Tuesday to see it.

Quote:The original box set I owned. It came in a box? Mine was in a ziplock bag from the original Steve Jackson games. Dang he had some good stuff. I think mine got thrown into a box with comics and is probably stored in the closet of dooooom. If it was in the RP box I would have found it by now.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to settle for a game of Cosmic Encounters instead. Super Sniverler anyone?
Those things were great, nice size, sturdy, held everything you needed but the dice. Unless you had really small dice. Eventually price of the plastic boxes made him go to zip top bags for a while I believe. Then they recovered some and went for traditional books and book-sized box sets. Steve Jackson always did such quality stuff. -
I miss Car Wars, such a great game. I played it from the original plastic box up to their last attempts to keep the game going a few years back. I even have a wide variety of rules and sets from all eras. Ahh, good old Uncle Albert. heck I even got GURPS just so I could run the Autoduel game.

But why would Tiger want to beat up horses? That's not nice.

*avoids the leafblower by making a flying leap out of the pile onto Viv*
Hiyas! Been a while since we saw ya hon.
Hey, what are you people all doing in the corner anyway? -
*puts Tiger up in a tree like a multicolored leaf*
Preeeetty. -
Better is good at least. *pins Fedor again while he's feeling off*
APB is All Points Bulletin, a MMO game where you take the part of a cop or or gang member and go to war with each other. You fight over territory and the like. http://www.apbgame.com/
Like I said, I really didn't look much into it. The concept doesn't do that much for me. But I saw an extended trailer with some gameplay and the character customization stuff and it's very cool. Basically it sounds like multiplayer GTA, another game series I never was interested in trying. -
*acks and is jumped on by a sackperson, and begins the daily tussel*
Feeling any better today, Fedor? Hi there Shecky. Yes, allergies are not much fun. Fortunately for me it's the Yellow Menace, so I'm safe till spring. Just colds and flus to worry about.
I've seen that video before, or rather it was part of a longer APB trailer I saw. I dunno, to me those look more like developer tools. But if that's the character builder players have access to... my god. That blows any other character creator out of the water. Custom created and placed tattoos, creating your own logos and slapping them wherever you like. Sizing and rotating and placing designs on clothing exactly how you like. Heck you get to choose how visible veins are.. that's just insane.
I'm not sure, but I think (big emphasis on not sure) it may be a free to play game, probably with an item store and all that jazz. I could be getting it mixed up with one of the other crime-based MMO games coming out here... Mostly they don't interest me, but that level of customization is just nuts. -
*licks up Rook's plate to get any missed syrup*
Yeah, it's a shame too, because the game itself is beautiful and fun, but I'm really starting to reach my BS quotient between the out of control botting and the most rude playerbase I've run across. I know it's a minority that's causing the problem, but when that minority is so vocal and constantly in your face, it makes logging in to be unpleasant.
I'm at the point right now that I'm more logging in because I don't want to waste my free time rather than any real desire to play, and I'm thinking I may cancel at the end of that time and maybe give it a try again in a few months. Hopefully give the staff some time to get their act together and deal with a situation they should have had a plan for from the start. -
*changes color to an orange tabby and falls out of one of the trees, drifting slowly to the ground to join the rest of the foliage, coming to a rest on top of Jag's head*
Hello there silly man. Whatcha hiding for?
How's everyone doing? -
*pins Fedor with her paws and yowls out a victory song*
See, I can take ya! -
Wait.. YOU always win? Why I oughta....
*pounces on Fedor and begins Epic Tussling* -
What? He's made out of sack cloth. How else was I supposed to dry him off?
-
*picks up Fedor and shakes him out, then runs him through the laundry ringer machine and hangs him up on a line to air dry*
There we go. Hopefully there won't be any shrinkage. -
>.>
<.<
*pushes the red button repeatedly!*
muahhahahahahaa! -
But now he's going to be all waterlogged, Tiger. He is made of fabric you know. I hope it's not dry clean only.

Yeah, that's kind of the point of a flu shot. They inject you with a weakened version of the stuff so your body can build up defenses against it. Still sucks to get nailed with it though.
Swine Flu would probably be a scary costume, but I'm sure some busybody would complain how it was 'inappropriate'. -
Fedor got a flu shot, so now he's sick with the flu. Funny how that works, huh?
*turns on a video of epic kitteh tussling to entertain the sick Fedor and gives him a donut to nom on*
(for the youtube challenged, it's a cute video of kittens play fighting) -
pbbbt on the Asmodian comment. I actually see it all the servers I've played on and especially on the forums, which are just horrible in all senses of the word.
Technically speaking the launch was pretty smooth. Though the whole severe throttling of the server population was both smart and stupid. With only two starting areas (one on each side), having everyone in one zone from the start would have been horrible, so throttling the servers as much as they did allowed those lucky enough to log in a relatively decent experience.
On the other hand, they only allowed a fraction of their known player base to log in. Like selling a million tickets for a 10,000 seat concert. Just. Bad. Idea. So if you were lucky enough to get in, great. If not.. I hope you like queues, because you had to sit through up to 6-8 hours worth of them and hope you weren't disconnected in that time, like I was the first day. And then people would abuse the horrible player store system to go AFK while they worked or slept, holding their place in game so other people couldn't log in, all so they could avoid the queue times.
That's got better now. They put a 30 minute limit on stores now, though people have already found a way around that. And they opened up the throttling on servers so queues only exists/are bad on the most populated realms at prime time.
Dealing with botters, advertisers and just rude people is non-existent though. And that has become very obvious to everyone, so they're having a field day ruining the experience for everyone else. Not only have they not taken steps to stop it, or even announced they were working on it, they could hardly have made a more friendly environment to this sort of thing if they had tried. It's very disheartening and so poorly handled. -
You know what other places are like Rook. Nice to visit, but they aren't home. Kinda like that in Aion at the moment, it's a nice pretty place to visit, but man are the locals nasty... Botters and gold sellers are running rampant, and you really can't even squelch them short of turning off all communications with everybody. I'm honestly surprised they haven't resorted to having bots standing in public areas advertising in local yet.. they've covered every other avenue of communication. And no sign of any work being done by NCSoft to combat this either.
Then the other players are pretty nasty to each other too. I've run into some nice people there, but the troll factor is way way higher than any other game I've ever played before. Could be because it's new, but I've been using that excuse since open beta, and both it and my patience are wearing pretty thin.
It's a good game, but ultimately nothing special. Between rude people and bots in your face constantly I begin to regret logging in to play... Hardly a good model. And they really don't seem to care as a company about dealing with the situation. I've got the free month until the end of October though... Unless I see some serious improvements to the situation, I doubt I'll bother to keep playing.
It makes me wonder how and why CoH has been so good and successful when they treat their other games like crap. I guess we have the folks at Paragon Studios to thank for that. -
*squeezes the jelly donut in Minimal's face*
Don't look at me. I didn't pay attention to the drama queen. -
NOOOO! Not Drinkzilla! There goes the liver!
That was silly, Rook.
