and doesnt that 10 dmg stack with controller's containment?
personally i'd go for storm as well. Got an earth/storm myself and if you can keep the mobs locked down, storm will debuff em to gimp city. Just remember that the repel from hurrican will also push away locked enemies, so dont just lock em down, then stand in middle for the acc debuff.
PS. Ice Slick + Freezing Rain = "watch out, slippery floor!" -
ooooh grats to both
nother of my teamin regulars who hit 50

...hectic tf action? more like "stack up high on coffee and other caffeine containing products", boring n takes a while

to make a tank/brute cry like a girl find a good blasterunless its stone

well, he has to be a blapper with toggledrops, otherwise it will make most tanks just laugh at em. Best bet vs tanks is debuffs.
and tbh i dont have much trouble killing with my ice tank, though my accuracy is pretty bad in sirens for some reason. -
wooo big grats mate, guess you finally caught up to me then huh
-
try fighting an ice tank if you dont have def debuffs, you're in for a nice game
-
just after cov was released I think i recall a post by a dev saying that they'd like to implement these kind of missions, however the current engine isnt compatible with it yet.
Also dont think if you get killed it should say its failed, after all, you can be weakened by NPCs, hero comes in for the kill and you fail. A timer would be better. -
suicide diving on bombs FTW!!!!
-
Current team setup:
Nurse Bianca (empath)
Aviator (blaster)
Infernius (tanker)
Idris (scrapper)
Doulos if he hits 44 in time (blapper)
Quasar (pb)
Dark Sky (tanker)
and of course yours truly (troller)
So if everybody shows up that signed up here we got a full team and by the looks of it pretty balanced as well -
cant do a tf without me there to ** things up can ya
send a tell to @stagefright if you ever plan on doing one -
can bring my kin/elec defender Adrenalin, though not sure if i can make it till the end (gotta go at 14:30)
-
grats mate, yet another 50 to add to that list of yours

Y'know, there's those guys called... Controllers, who have, like, defenders primaries as secondaries, plus holds and other nifty stuff as primaries, and status protection in their epic.
The OP asked for something overpowered that can hold his own in 1v1 and teams. Yes, I'm sure your skills can make a spines/DA work alone regardless of the end problem, and a ice/ice tank or a emp/dark defender kill people 1v1, but that's not the point of this topic.
[/ QUOTE ]
As said before, the defender secondaries of controllers are weaker than the defender's primary. A secondary ALWAYS is weaker than a primary. Second of all with all the buffs and controls, its hard to focus on one thing. I always try to focus on primaries as they are just more effective than secondaries.
You're kinda confusing me with these 2 statements btw..

So.. basically, you the OP wants to know a build that hold its own in 1v1 AND teams, but killing 1v1 is not the point of this topic? Might be my silly brain at work, but I dont see the logic in that statement at all.
Anyway, regardless of that. I dont play a spines/dark, nor have I got the intention to. However I DO know its a great pvp build. Sure, heavy on the blue stuff, but that can be overcome.
Ice/ice killing in 1 v 1? Hm... dunno how up to date you are with /ice, but it seriously lacks damage. Sure, i can kill 1v1 EVENTUALLY, but after the kill I think the rest of the zone already went to bed for it being 4/5 AM by then.
Anyway, back to the defender issue. Your comments kinda make me wonder if you ever played a controller vs defender, and if so, your controller could be the equivalent, buff-wise, of the defender? Of course not sacrificing his control ability. I have not met such a controller, however if you are, you must be the first I met. -

just show up at the contact at designated time -
Been wanting to do this trial for ages yet all the ones that were organized were not possible for me to make, timewise. Hence I took up organizing my own then.
The details:
lvl needed - 44-50
minimum to start - 3
Badges - max 2, transmogrified and one of the 3 respec accolades
Main enemy - rikti
Estimated time - 3 hours max
more info can be found here: clicky
Date: wednesday 8 february
Time: 8 pm GMT
Place: Major Flagg, he's standing near the Crey's Folly gate.
I'll be doing this with my lvl 50 ill/ff controller. So anybody crazy enough to do it, please remember that it will be at max difficulty, hence I would prefer ppl in the 48-50 range. If you care to join, post here or just show up at the contact. People who have signed up however will get priority over ppl that just show up. -
have to put a side-note on the "good pvpers will say its all about skill" thing. Good pvpers say its about skill IF the builds are equivalent. Of course, builds are important, but skill is an equal factor. You cant give a non-pvper a great build and expect him to outlive a good pvper. Every build has its own weaknesses, therefore there are no 'bad' builds.
Btw, in your list, you forgot the ice/ice tanks and spines/dark scrappers. If you dont count those as a threat, you might be in for a surprise.
Last but not least, gotta disagree with the stay away from dom/def in pvp. All depends on the lvl where you pvp. For instance stalkers in warburg are not as big a threat as they are in bloody bay. Dont forget in team pvp, defenders can play a crucial role. -

Just think of this...
With your steath cloak on and SS wade into a big mob , bit eclipse and maybe a break free (depending on what your fighting) ,Sunless , Dark dwarf mire, nova form , 2 blasts and your pretty much done.
Needless to say that with 16mobs you can hit the damage cap i tihnk and you will hit the resistance cap with eclipse meaning you can blast away happily.
You can take the remaining few down in a few seconds (+2 or +3 luits and bosses)
Then just pop back into human and stygian circle and you have full end and health :P
Ready for the next mob.
Need I say more...
[/ QUOTE ]
i prefer dwarf tp in with mire, eclipse after.. the mire boosts your acc so less chance your eclipse misses, also detoggling dwarf is faster than toggling into dwarf to fire mireand last but not least, with increased hp and mez resistance you can take bout every alpha.
-
doh, misread it as saturday instead of sunday.. hell still signin up then lol (damn you late night forum browsing!)
-
if you need someone to help out, count me in, however I'll gladly give away my spot to someone who needs the xp or badge
-
seems you are focussing bit too much on human form. Sure, no tanks, but with dwarf I could most of times do the job just as well if no tanks are available. No melee attacks? "Dear devs, dwarf smite and dwarf strike are broken, they are supposed to be ranged rather than melee"
If you check out the dark melee and dark armor sets from the scrappers, you'll find some scary similarities between the scrapper and the WS. I'd post a list if I werent that tired atm to go through all powers.. maybe after I went to bed I'll post one.
Lack of handling aura, after I got eclipse at 38, using dwarf to take the alpha (dont forget dwarf also almost doubles your hp), mire to buff up dmg/acc, eclipse to buff up res, and sunless mire for even more acc/dmg, then it didnt really matter what form I was in. Depends on the player if you can handle the aggro you generate. Unless by handle you mean keeping all that aggro on you, which I have to agree (but that counts for BOTH pb and ws) you cant keep em taunted at you cause the dwarf taunt is less effective than tanker taunt.
Btw, PBs also got pulsar (pbaoe disorient). If you count all sets which attacks got a possibility to mez opponents as controllery, almost every powerset is controllery. Energy melee with the stuns, martial arts with stuns/immobs, etc etc.
Lot of people say WS are controllery, but having played multiple trollers I'd say its nowhere near it. Sure, nothing gets near a troller I know that. But even as far as "trollery" sets go, I wouldnt count WS to it.
As said before, imo, in tri-form WS are better, human-only I'd go for PB though I know good human-only WS that can outperform some human-only PBs I know. -

you can sort this list by prestige with should give you a good indication of how active the SG is
[/ QUOTE ]
have to disagree there. First of all, if a SG mainly had lvl 35+ members when the prestige system went live, they prolly wont have earned much prestige as they wouldnt gain any inf if they went to prestige mode. My WS was 39 when prestige was introduced, only once played him in SG mode during a tf, but quickly turned back to normal mode for the inf. That said, I was on almost every day.
Second of all, some SGs dont really intend on doing base raids or building a base at all, there's no need to gain prestige if you dont want a base. Doesnt mean the SG isnt active.
And last but not least, which is sadly the case in our hero SG, members forget to turn on SG mode. Mainly because there was never a need to go into SG mode before the prestige was implemented and now people just forgot bout SG mode. Hence you can have active players but not much prestige. This can also be combined with reason #1.
All in all, prestige earnt aint a good indication of activity
Bout activity on forums, I'm really the only member of our SG to frequently visit the forums. However we still are a tight-knit community and got our own forum to talk on. An active player doesnt necessarily have to be a forumite. If you really want a good indication of what a SG is like, team up with people, find some regulars, and ask them bout their SG.
