    well, theyre easier on CoV cause of MMs (bot/dark, nin/dark and bot/poison at 32+ are better regen debuffers than rads n kins)

    thats cause you shouldnt be using it as main defense tool (though for yourself, it IS the only tool you got ), sure it offers nice protection, but to me the main purpose is the mez protect it offers.

  8. Tried DM/SR in the RV event (already built him before, just wanted to see what he'd be like at 40 and with defbuffs from i7 in place) and must say he pretty much ruled. ToF is a nice addition to your attack chain in PvP cause of the low resisted fear (and of course -acc )

    Usually they keep their pets together so you use cones and AoEs to attack the pets and the mastermind at the same time that way the pets are hurt but have to absorb his damage as well. It's kind of risky but not always what they're expecting if you can sneak up behind them/fly in. The disadvantage of Bodyguard is that in a larger battle the mastermind can't specify you as the target easily without risking himself so you should be able to position an AoE.

    Also, when you do it you should be singing e.g.

    "Flamethrower and Full'Auto! The powers with the names you want to touch... But you musn't touch!"

    Then you get AS'ed because of the animation time but it was probably worth it.

    The trick is to toggle CE on and off depending on which tank is getting too much aggro.

    actually meant the other tank will be a nuisance to the ice tank bunchin up the foes
  11. reminds me.. scatter-attacks (rain of fire, burn, ignite) work nicely as well as henchies are pretty hard to command as they are running trying to evade your attack. might not knock the pets out of 60ft, but it sure is a start

    sounds like you're describing ice primary there

    however, a blaster that isnt using his secondary powers in PvP isnt living up to its full potential.

    I can understand what you're saying, but I feel quite the opposite. If I'm playing another AT, I feel a lot more comfortable with anymore than 1 heavy melee taking the brunt of the damage, and the presence of a couple of tankers lets everyone concentrate on their team roles comfortably.

    Teaming with other tanks so far, Invul and Stone sets get around quite a bit, but I like sharing the aggro with them and if one tank is resting, the other is more or less likely raring to go

    dont wanna slag your rant razman, but all defbased powersets only been buffed in pve, not pvp they already were pretty powerful in pvp (as anyone who fought my ice tank can confirm )
  15. from that list you mention it kinda sounds you are pretty fked against most opponents then private

    but as said multiple times before, its all an RPS-game in PvP. Claws scrapper might not work against a /dark MM, but a blaster with properly slotted aim/bu zaps right through that acc debuff.

    Yeah, the pets need to be in supremacy range, so 60 ft iirc.
    Most ATs got a way to deal with em:


    Tankers/Scrappers - whack the pets, try to mez + kb the MM

    Blaster - AoEs are your friend, expect especially fire blasters to become a major pain thanks to high AoE and DoT (and of course iirc most pets got a weakness to fire dmg)

    Controller - Mez/debuff the pets, then try to mez/kb/debuff the MM, on my ill/ff I also use the forcebubble trick, on my earth/storm I just use freezin rain/earthquake to keep the pets down, then gale the MM away.

    Only the Defender will have a bigger challenge to take down MMs I think (dependin on powersets), but then again Defenders arent meant to be on the frontline

  18. like dr said, the old tactic of "just target MM and he has no defense" is not very useful anymore. I think this was intended with the adding of BG. Some of you might say "controllers/blasters/defenders/corrupters/dominators also got no extra defense like MMs" well point is, those can all easily fight for themselves, while MM has to rely on his pets. As said, some sets cant damage other sets, its rock-paper-scissors all over again. MMs aint really that tough to kill, even with BG running.

    yeah, before I have to fight some tough spawn or AV/EB i always feed some of my bots some red insps to speed up the killing
  22. bots dont have "extra" hold res, yet I got the feeling all henchies got some innate extra res to mezzes, seeing sometimes when bosses toss a hold on my bots, they aint held at all, while the same hold would hold me.

    PVP help

    aye, iirc its 170 yards for henchies to respawn, and supremacy is 60 ft. Bodyguard is only for henchies in supremacy range, so tp the MM to a distance <170 yrds but >60ft, and he wont have bodyguard mode to help. Hence why you shouldnt solemnly rely on bodyguard mode. Personally I dont use bodyguard mode too often in pvp as I tend to be aggressive with robo/poi and kill my foe before they get a chance to gun for me. When they finally start hammering me is when i swap to bodyguard.

    not that i know of, even in i6 with luck and enough momentum you could just dive through forcebubble and get a hit in before you got repelled. Does seem to happen more often in i7 though.
