(get off work at 6..)
-
dunno if i overread it, but couldnt find a date for the event itself in the signup.. so presuming I can make it, lookin for a wee lil teammember for stage (ill/ff/psi).
-
aye, runnin on some server called "earth"... but I cant find it in the list anymore these days
-
word's just in, if I'm showin up I'll be 1.5-2 hrs later
stupid work.. ah well, here's hopin you'll still be whackin him by then
-
I'll prolly go there for a beer and a fight I reckon
should ensue for some fun stuff as well "oi! you spilled me beer, now im gonna rip you a new one!" -
I aim to please
If you do some Council or Arachnos arcs you'll learn alot bout their history (not only bout their relationship, but also bout the organization itself), maybe that helps forming the background more -
Aye it's very much possible to be able to do some casual PvP, hell thats how i got into PvP in the first place. Sirens is a nice play to start, but depending on your AT it can also put you off PvP completely. Sirens seems to be an abundance of stalkers and/or spines/regen scrappers which at those lvls few ATs cope against.
Bloody Bay is a nice place to start, but like said before it often is quiet and the people that ARE there often get ticked off when you attack em cause they are "only doing missions". If they do get mad at you for attacking though, just ignore em and give them an even harder smacking.. will teach em to enter a PvP zone.
For casual PvP I DO encourage people to go to zones rather than arena as it's a bit more welcome for firsttimers. No issues with organizing event, find people etc etc, just hop in and fight. Disadvantage of the zones is that at times the fight can be onesided (e.g. 10 heroes vs 2 villains) and the fact that you can get debt there.
Arena PvP is a whole different kind of PvP. The tactics you learned in the zones practically go out of the window against any regular arena PvPer. As arena is all bout whacking your opponent in a small environment, the action seems to be a bit more hectic.
One thing you should know when you PvP, it can bring out the worst in people. My advice is try to ignore all the [censored] that try to act like some bigshot in PvP, telling you some tactics are "cheating" and that if HE had the first shot HE would TOTALLY own you and you are just a n00b blablabla. It's PvP, everything goes. Don't wanna get sniped? Then stay the hell out of a PvP zone. Don't wanna get ASed? Stay the hell out of a PvP zone. Once you enter the zone, you open yourself up for attacks.
Pity not everybody knows this and seems to compensate when they lose with cussing, or gloating how good he was beating you. Just dont reply and give em a good spanking. Once they start namecalling or anything, just petition em and proceed to teach em what PvP is about, his face kissing the floor. Just remember not everybody is like this and there are alot of great people out there to PvP with as well. Just take a look around these forums and you see most regular PvPers are more than happy to show a new PvPer, casual or hardcore, the ropes.
Anyway as said before (though i think post got deleted) if you're on Union and want any help with some casual PvP, gimme a shout on @stagefright and I'll be more than happy to tag along or give you some pointers.
Hope you enjoy the PvP on this game! -

Maestro [Arch-Villain]
As a child, Vincenze Alferi dreamed of becoming a great composer, but those dreams were shattered when he lost his hearing due to a car accident. The Council offered to perform a radical experiment that might restore his hearing, and Vincenzo agreed without hesitation. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. A SPIDER attack on the facility resulted in a power surge at the worst possible moment. Instead of restoring him, the resulting explosion created a permanent resonance in Vicenzo's body. He agreed to join the Council if they would give him the opportunity for vengeance against SPIDER.

tbh, thats also the only reference in the game i've ever seen to SPIDER. Might be that SPIDER was the first name for Arachnos by the devs, as Council and Arachnos go way back. -
gotta work sat, but should be home at 7, so dinner etc taken into account 8 works for me
-
hm, wasnt there already a SPIDER in the whole CoH/CoV world? I recall reading summit like that in Maestro's description.
-
hm have to check, but fear I might have to work that evenin
(was either this sat or sat after that...)
-
heh better think which squishy I'm gonna fight her with.. gettin tired of the awesomeness of WS fightin lusca
want something fragile to fight her this time
-
well I'll see if I can give a lil acte de presence.. though I'll prolly be a bit later.

I regret to say to you guys that I have left the real world in order to become a tightwearing maniac again. I thought the real world was soooo cool, but I just cant log onto it anymore. Therefore, I'm sorry, I'm sorry I have to leave all the people in the real world, hell maybe I'll be back to it one day, but for now I'll be runnin around shoutin random stuff in tights.
Anyway.. for those of you lackin the brain functionality to decode the above.. after a few months absence I'm hoping to get back to the game which I always loved since I started playin it. Though I needed a break from the game, I still crave for some enjoyment on those lonely evenings. However, even though I'm back, theres still a lack in REAL activity as I got alot of stuff goin on in the real world. Hence the cause of me not bein able to properly say goodbye apart from the people who were online when I last logged off a while ago. So to the others whom I missed: Goodbye and hello.
Right.. stupid emotional kinda mumbling mode off.. enable sarcasm mode... I'm baaaaaaaack -

It's a mystery we're still trying to solve -
its fun, got one myself, however its very very heavy on the blue stuff, so use your toggles wisely
also the lack of KB protection might be a prob, but that depends on the player and how he copes
P.S. DM/SR ftw! even though mine is a scrapper -
course all depends on the AT, for instance I always found ballistas pussies the day I met em on my MM, yet citadel is a whole different league to him
-
well, were only doin the 2nd afaik, the other is organized by infurnus the other weekend
-
depending on the date i can bring one of my alts as well
-
EM got some VERY powerful attacks later on, that get rid of AS as a "necessity" to a mere "luxury". Energy Transfer iirc is even higher damage than Total Focus and has a crazy fast animation. Get some speed, home in on your target, activate buildup when close, queue energy transfer and zoom past.
By the time they realize what hit em, you're kited past em so they cant have an auto-melee power hit you in return. Blasters putting bonesmasher on auto can be a real PAIN for stalkers relying heavily on AS. Also this hit from energy transfer will leave most foes stuck on a sliver of health while you can take your pick in your attacks to finish him or her off.
A fast stalker that knows how to use energy melee is a very very dangerous opponent indeed. One that doesnt need to rely heavy on stealth and AS. -
aint that crazy... been altin since nef hit 50 bout half a year ago
-
seeing both double and me cant make it to infurnus' new date for shadow shard tf #2, we decided to host our own.
This will take place saturday 22 july (yes thats during the double xp weekend...) at 11:30 AM. We're meeting at the mole point bravo, next to the contact Sarah Moore.
Info about the TF:
level range - 40-50
minimum to start - 8
Badges - at least 1: Destroyer of Strength for completing the TF
Main enemy - Rularuu, Nemesis, Circle of Thorns
Estimated time - around 5 horus
Current team setup thus far is:
1. Stagefright (ill/ff)
2. Double Control (earth/rad)
3. Quantum Scorpio (triform WS)
4. Over Lord (spines/regen)
5. Psionetic (kin/nrg)
6.
7.
8.
So thats 3 spots still open, preferrably have 1 extra debuffer and someone with recall friend to shorten the time needed to complete TF. Post here or send a tell to @stagefright if you wanna sign up.
