  1. PVP IOs only drop from killing another player, however to get the drop the kill must have also been rep valid (IE the player cannot be on your defeat list, and you cannot be on that players defeat list)

PVP IOs should have a chance of dropping from arena, which is why i say rep valid in the previous statement, as long as you would be eligible for rep then you have a chance for a drop (even though the arena does not award rep points)

PVP IOs have a VERY low drop chance, and when you do get a drop, you also cannot receive another drop for at least 10 minutes even if it was rep valid

in essence, you can either pay an enormous price at the auction house or spend nearly a year saving alignment merits or emp merits

    My apologies!!

I'm going to put a small qualifier in that, haha, as I have zero problems with people who enjoy min/maxing, nor do I think they are a mindless collective!!

And yeah... I would certainly be in favor of beefing up Hand Clap. I do think it could be improved, even if I find it fun and good enough to keep (it's skirting that border for me and I'm pretty lenient!).
heh, i was mostly agreeing with you, from a min/max perspective hand clap IS basically useless unless your using it as a set mule, the only way i could see putting it into a good build is throwing a force feedback chance for +rech in it, using in a large enough mob would almost always proc it

i really like the animation of the power and some of the mechanics of the power, but its way too concept only oriented to be worth taking over something else most of the time

So this basically told me that if I could read the slides for myself, I didn't have to attend class. If I didn't understand something, there was always the textbook. Not all professors were like this, but I'd say a good 80% would spend their time reading bullets that you could clearly read for yourself.
im in my 4th year of college atm as well, and i have to say that this is exactly how 99% of my classes have been so far lol (if not all of them, some of the classes i hardly pay attention in lol)

i also have to agree with the earlier statement that large portion of college is BSing, with all the required BS they make you take, for every class i took that didnt pertain to computer science, i BS'd. i have learned some stuff through my computer classes that i doubt i would have learned on my own (i do a LOT of gaming in my spare time, usually either on coh or one of the 510 games i have on steam, and i still havent been able to find an intern position or something in the computer science field just yet)

one of my friends is kind of the same thinking as Hyperstrike, hes only going to college for the degree to help get a job and he absolutely hates most of the education system with how it currently is set up

I actually have Hand Clap on my SD/SS tank, Amazing Ape!
I took it for concept reasons, mostly...
And, while I do not use it frequently, I have found it to be useful from time to time.
Since I tend to solo a lot and I have not IO slotted out the character at all, he occasionally runs into issues and Hand Clap is a good tool to mitigate things.
It's funny... people who min/max can eliminate such powers, but then mistakenly think of those powers as useless.

I also have no problems with leveraging knockback powers and using KB strategically.

I was looking at new build ideas for my tank and was thinking that I'd be okay with ditching Hand Clap... Then I was playing him a bunch and realized that I want to keep that power.

I'd rather have an under-performing character that can use different tricks to leverage those weaknesses, than a character that has a bunch of extra defensive powers and less tricks to use.

Anyway... not like I can't have both! Just saying... when it comes down to one or the other... I'll take the bag of tricks and/or concept over maximizing survival.
i tend to min/max but i dont always find the power useless, i just find the power to not fit the build, personally hand clap *can*be useful, but the fact it does 0 dmg and just scatters mobs is kind of annoying (if it even 1/8 the dmg of footstomp i would work it into my build in a heartbeat lol)
  6. 1. no

    2. each alignment has 2 series' of contacts you can run to follow an arc (usually about 2 contacts per lvl range)

    3. resistance has its own contacts, but they can also do "undercover" mishs so you run the loyalist mishs but you report back to calvin scott which furthers the resistance portion of the arc

    4. for praetorians its unlikely to get every contact on your own unless you turn off xp for awhile and would involve constantly switching between loyalist and resistance to get all of the arcs

    5. no, not yet

    6. yes if your in the proper lvl range, there are technically 2 version of ouroboros, a hero ouroboros and a villain ouroboros, when you change alignments you change which ouroboros you go to (and hence you change which mishs are available to you)

    7. i would think that you may have missed some arcs, i dont remember if desdemona shows up at all in praetorian mishs, i know maelstrom does because of his teleporter thing
  7. this is essentially the same strategy we used on victory to get this a few weeks ago

had team of 12, and 4 poeple stayed in the hosp, one of the poeple in hosp would shout out as AM got close to stopping time or when the beam was firing to make sure everyone was paying attention

i was one of the poeple who sat in the hosp and i honestly didnt care that i had to sit there as long as we got the badge and i would never have to run that retarded trial again

BABs, statesman, imperious, the bruiser in the thugs set, a lot of low lvl praetorian police use a version of hand clap, several types of freakshow use it, i think almost all NPCs with super strength use it with a few exceptions

i think only BABs, states, and imperious have cheaty versions that do tremendous dmg too lol

    1. The pulse damage and the hospital door timer are one and the same. If you can't make it out of the hospital and back to a group fighting in 30 seconds, there are other problems.
I also want to note here that as a scrapper, the pulse damage doesn't bother me much, but the damn Vickis kill me probably more often than the pulse kills squishies, cause I see the inside of that hospital a lot.

    2. Antimatter goes to the same regeneration terminals in the same order every single trial. If you fight him near the terminal he's going to go to, 'Freeze Time' lasts roughly 2 seconds.

    3. The 'Freeze Time' happens at 80, 50, and 20 health. You have a health bar visible in the little window. How hard is it to designate one person to shout in request to stop attacking at 85 health until after everyone is clear of the green stuff?

    4. Entanglement matters a lot if you are also being disintegrated. If you're targeted and Alpha entangled, stay the heck away from Betas or you will die on the 99% hit every time.

    5. His 'Atomic Blast' can hold non-squishies. When it says back away. Back the heck away unless you have break frees on you!

That said, the reactor part is tedious and I would love to see the bottom floor of terminals disappeared.
for points 2 and 3, it actually requires the league to LISTEN and respond to whats going on, ive been on several runs where poeple shout to slow up on the dmg cause of the time stop and yet half of the league is still wailing on him full force, EVERY person in the league has to be on the same page for this to work right

for point 4, yes ive seen that happen, but very very rarely, most poeple are smart enough to not stand in the middle of the group when they are being disintegrated

point 5 ive never even heard of being an issue talked about among poeple who hate keyes (including myself)

the major hate in keyes trial comes from the antimatter pulse and the fact that there is NO way to avoid it or lessen it (only make it worse), and the fact the obliteration beam is hard to see because its faint green (which all of AMs attacks are too), and entanglement just adds a helluva lot of screen clutter and does basically nothing 99% of the time
  10. i doubt it since premium can become VIP at any time and those characters would be unlocked, and premiums can pay a little extra to unlock them

only time i know a name is freed up is when the toon is deleted

Sure, you can use Judgement, but that's got a pretty slow recharge.

    Again, this is minor.
MM's make defeat badges so easy, just set all your pets on aggressive and just lazily walk around near required mobs for a few hours lol

/this, if it was beta nobody would be complaining because its fairly understood in betas little works properly and things have to be adjusted lol

and yes it is extremely annoying, i was planning on rerolling a toon today too but that got messed up

its been hinted that in the next round of proliferation (post i21) that scrappers are getting ice armor (along with the same tier 9 that stalkers get)

i noticed this when i ran mender ramiels first mish with my ss/wp, i could hit something with KO blow from across the map lol

Oddly, the most relaxed feeling I've been getting these days has been from my Stalker. Walk up, hit, kill, placate and run. Wait... walk up, hit, kill... it's kind of zen.
all my doms just throw domination on auto and then hit hasten when convenient since i dont need it for perma dom

as for your note on stalkers, i sort of feel the same way, soloing a stalker is very relaxing until you get into a mob thats too large and then just get faceplanted

the store is currently down, which is locking people out of toon slots and it appears to affect all account related unlocks in game such as the emotes you buy with astral merits, ect
  18. no, certifications and vouchers will not have an expiration date, but may not be claimed if the account server/paragon market is down
  19. right now i havent been doing trials mostly due to them being so repetitive, but i wont do keyes trial no matter what now since i have the badges

the ONLY real reason i even ran the trial when it went to live WAS due to the badges, if there were no badges i would not have participated at all because i tried it in beta and left half a dozen of posts about how not fun keyes trial was

i think the main reasons the keyes trial is avoided is because its very tedious (especially leading around AM to all the freaking terminals), and the pulse during the reactor phases is basically screaming "HEAL or GTFO" because if you have no heals or not being near any of the poeple who do have heals, you are going to constantly die, and as mentioned this trial almost forces you to split up to gather glowies, so being near someone isnt an option, and no i dont think spamming green inspirations is fun or enjoyable way to solve this problem
  20. shard drops while solo are a LOT rarer than shard drops on team, sometimes i can go through 5 tips solo and barely get 1 shard
  21. B is not an option because incarnate related stuff is not tradeable period (the closest to a trade you can do is sent yourself thread vouchers with astral and emp merits)

the only option for incarnate stuff is essentially crafting (although its a LOT simpler than IOs in a way)

for the alpha slot all of the components can either be crafted from shards or directly awarded from tfs (each tf awards a different component, which will help avoid some of the crafting)
  22. my most relaxing toon is my perma mind dom, going through entire mishs using confuse and mass confuse is just very enjoyable to me (albeit it is low reward because im rarely killing anything)
  23. Necrotech_Master

    ill/cold ???

on my ill/cold i like using superior invis, i save a slot on a +stealth IO, and because of the high rech in my build i have perma HL (buff portion) so end is non issue

i also use my ill/cold in a lot of tough/different situations and i like having the invis to basically everything except the baddies which ignore stealth

i think this choice is a matter of personal preference
  24. ive tried doing those tactics but it never seems to work, and more than 90% of the time i have to resummon anyway, but ive burned away 1/3 of my end popping the smoke bomb

running on a ninja/dark mm i dont think ive ever had problems not using smoke bomb, would rather just skip it since its never noticeable to me except for burning my end

smoke flash would prolly be less annoying as well if i didnt have to target a specific minion to use it, i feel it could be improved if you threw the smoke bomb at the the enemy and placate the enemy for the next ninja attack, but idk if the ninja would get a critical (would prolly end up making the power code wise a helluva lot more complex)
