im up to 1274 as of now, only missing day jobs, heroside arc badges, and 1 side badge for the MO underground trial
i caught up on vet badges due to dropping $100 on paragon points to get enough reward tokens to fill out up to tier 9 -
i dropped $100 today to fill out the rest of my vet rewards and then spent about 11000 points on recipe storage (lvl 1 toons for me have 56 recipe slots now lol), enhance trays, cape/aura unlocks, beam gun, rocket board and i think something else too but i cant remember lol

did you log out and back in? most purchases wont fully stick unless you log out and back in if your in game, if you do it on character screen shouldnt have to worry too much about it

excellent job, i would say stick with making one for each faction first, you got loyalist still have resistance, villain, hero, rogue, vigilante to work with lol

the lowbie sewer trial is for both heros and villains (its not co op however)

likewise i got 1600 on my account when i logged in today, didnt notice anything funny with the paragon rewards though -
the only thing that i noticed that was really "missing" was that we can only claim base items ONE time per toon where before we could claim them as many times as we wanted

i already spent $100 on 8000 pt package to fill out my vet rewards and then subsequently spent another 10800 points on various items in the store and made a wishlist to make it easier to go through, of course all the stuff on my wishlist would cost me another 20000 pts lol (and i dont have that kind of money just yet)

You will be short I believe a few points in one positional type defense. Again I need to look it up on my other machine. -
buying the 8000 point pack ($100) it gives you 8 reward tokens
iirc i think to completely fill tier 7 or 8 it required about 8 tokens
so if you were right about where you were starting tier 8, then you would need about 10 tokens or so which is around $130-145 just to buy it outright -

im not sure where your seeing anything about a VIP starter kit -
i personally love my ill/cold and with almost 210% global rech i have sleet ready for every mob and it has some procs in it to help deal dmg
i really like the ice shields because they help keep the phantasm alive some as well as teammates who are not completely IOd
i also like my ill/cold because perma heat loss means i have 0 end issues with only hitting 1 target all the time where AMs +dmg will not affect PA and the end recov bonus is minimal -

I'll probably roll a couple of new characters there just to check out the social atmosphere. Sometimes it's difficult to get a decent low level team going on Victory - usually I end up playing level 50 stuff as that's what most people want to do. And besides I always have more character concepts than I have slots available on Victory anyway.
My frequency of playing there will probably largely be based off the population and how active the server is. I'm guessing most of the time I'll still be on Victory. -
while it is possible to solo GMs with bot/ff, it will take a VERY long time and basically is determined by how much the -regen hits on the bots attacks, the -regen is only a chance of happening and with pet AI wont be 100% reliable
if you really want to solo a GM, just get longbow pets, the boss has basically the same -regen as the bot and it can stack it very very easily since it only has liek 3 attacks compared to the bots 5-6 -
man those 9 hours are gonna feel so long, but for something this good its worth it on all kinds of levels lol

makes sense to me lol
although i just call everything AVs even if they are labeled as hero lol -
bot trap is better for soloing AVs, /ff brings basically nothing to the fight in way of debuffs

if your comparing breakdown values, since 1 emp merit is 20 threads and 1 astral is 4 threads, then logically it would take 5 astrals to equal 1 emp merit in terms of value
it also makes sense to me because 5 astrals is the common amount earned per trial
i do agree with klaw though that it prolly wouldnt be that easy, if anything they would prolly make 10 astrals + inf to create emp merits (or more) -
i am considering making a time/rad too because the debuff values would be great but i will prolly not end up making a build for it until mids is updated so i can see where ill need stuff
i personally will prolly go with dark mastery since it has end drain, soul drain, an armor, and oppressive gloom to stack with cosmic burst
the other defender combo i might consider as well is time/sonic again due to the great debuffs lol -
taunt auras are not considered offensive toggles
the SR toggle which has a taunt component does not detoggle when mezzed
offensive toggle is more of a dmg/debuff effect on the enemy such as AAO, mud pots, ect -
nope, in the almost 63 months ive been playing i only have like 4 toons on other servers all of which are around lvl 1 and havent been playing in 700+ days lol
i do fully plan on getting more slots on victory though lol -
once i21 is live the old vet reward system will be discontinued, so badges will not be awarded like they have been instead they will be earned through the new paragon rewards system, each time you get a token and claim something you get a related badge and a reward
all of the old vet badges graphics have been changed to remove the numbering system and just have a star since they wont be earned at any specific time come i21
