Quote:I didn't list the powers as 'melee attacks', a showed a list of powers within the two power sets that function perfectly fine in melee range. Also, Mind Probe doesn't do Knockback... have you even played the set or are you just forming an opinion while reading numbers on paper?Mind Probe isn't a good attack just because it's at melee range. In fact, it's a worse attack because it can only achieve melee range. It doesn't even do more damage than your first two tier ranged attacks. It's KB is also counterproductive to blapping, and I'd view it more of a control power than I would a viable attack, and not a very good one at that. The only good thing it has going for it is the recharge, and Psychic Scream offers that in a cone.
Bullet Rain... isn't... a melee attack.
Drain Psyche is really more of a utility ability, not an attack, which doesn't qualify it for blapping.
That pretty much leaves Hail of Bullets and Psychic Screams, which I've already given my opinions on, and don't care to repeat them.
With only one GOOD melee ability, no, MM is not a good blapper set, and I don't choose to "beleive" that out of ignorance. It's an opinion formulated after analyzing the powers. Not just a wild haphazard guess.
As for Bullet Rain not being a Melee attack, sure.. however.. I guess you're never player a Fire Blapper.. one word Fireball.. it and Bullet Rain function the same where as they center around the target.
Allow me to paint you a picture, Teleport into a mob spawned for x6. Open with a Flash Freeze, followed up by Concentration -> Drain Psyche -> Hail of Bullets -> Psychic Shockwave. Finishing off with a Bullet Rain if needed. Mob deleted. -
Quote:Hmm.. lets see: Bullet Rain, Mind Probe, Drain Psyche, Hail of Bullets, Psychic Shockwave.. Not enough reason to get into Melee, you say?I certainly wouldn't place more importance on S/L defense over ranged defense on DP/MM as you don't have enough reason to get into Melee to use it regularly.
Before I turn this into a troll post, let me just clarify by saying, just because you don't chose to accept Mental Manipulation as a Blapper set doesn't mean it's not capable of performing just as well. -
Well I haven't decided on rather or not I'll actually roll a Demon Summoning Mastermind.. However, I will definitely be using the Demon Summoning power set to create / update a few AE critters. One of which is my Brimstone Bonesear, who will be updated to Demon Summoning/Claws.

*ahem*
Go into the City of Heroes directory, and create a shortcut to the CityOfHeroes.exe. Right-click the shortcut and click properties. In the Target after the quotation add [space]-project coh.
It will look like this,
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
(or for windows 7)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
As long as the updater is current, there's not much reason to run the updater every time you want to log into the game.
Just saying. -
Quote:Another patch today.. so much for that theory, yo!I17 has been in closed beta for alittle over a week now (1 week 1 day to be exact) and there hasn't been any new patches being applied to the test server. I may not be in closed beta, but I can still receive the patches when they update i17 CB or fix problems with a patch. Maybe if there are no problems, or this continues, it will go into OB sooner than the average 28 days an issue is typically in CB.

Quote:A few folks and I searched through the AE list last night, we discovered she's available as a contact only. Strange indeed.Huh. Really? I would have figured you'd be able to use her since she shows up outside MA as a pet, but maybe there's some level range weirdness that makes her unsuitable.

As for the Flame Elemental having a self res, from my own experience he was the weakest of the 4 Elementals, because of chain knockback. Might be silly, and I suppose it's even a little annoying with the untouchable period that comes with Rise of the Phoenix. -
There's not much I can do to the story arc, mechanics wise, as the arc with mostly full briefings/debriefings and 12 custom critters is tapped out at 99.82%.
I have changes in the works for the third mission encounter with the minotaur. As well as adding unique descriptions to the canon critters used. I just don't have the room for all that right now. I owe that to Doc Delilah who I was forced to create as a custom critter since she doesn't exist in the AE except as a contact.. (What's up with that devs?!).
I can't really complain about you running at +0 x2, but that might explain why you didn't encounter Brimstone Champions (aside from the named one in the second mission) and Brimstone Succubi.
As for your complaints about the final mission, be glad I decided to spawn it blank.. otherwise you'd get to run around spawn to spawn trying to find the glowies, or have a EB encounter spawn too close to a regular map spawn. Of course this is the problem with out door maps, their spawning points are a f***ing joke.. if you have any ideas for an indoor map that would get the 'Temple of Time' concept across without using a super giant Oranbega cave I'm open to suggestions!
Overall, you have some great points, I'll try and rework the story a bit when I have more space to play with. Thanks for the feedback! -
Would love a review on my arc #9852. Aside from my sig, I haven't really tried to advertise it. I'm just really looking for some honest feedback that I can use to help improve the arc if needed.
Please review it when you have the time. A review posted here in this thread would be fantastic. Thank you! -

I try to avoid these when making custom critters.
- Aim/Build Up/Rage
- Carrion Creepers
- Dark Regeneration
- Flash Arrow/Smoke/Smoke Grenade
- Granite Armor
- Hibernate
- Power Sink
- Rise to the Challenge
- Web Grenade

Quote:I can only assume The Coming Storm got the idea from the below quote. Rather or not Demon Summoning is being tested now.. or will hit test in a few weeks is unknown, but the folks who prepurchased Going Rogue will have access to it in April with the launch of i17.I'd also like to see where Coming_Storms info came from.
There's so way of knowing if Demon Summoning is actually being tested at this moment. Unless you are a.) In the Closed Beta, or b.)Someone you know is in Closed Beta and broke the NDA.

Quote:^^^People don't need to comment on your AE arc in order to rate it.
This is exactly why I hate the current system. I would have liked to have seen a system where you have to leave a comment if you want to rate it.. or at least force the player to comment if they rate the arc below the current star rating..
...Ahem, sorry I suppose this mini rant is more suited someplace else.. >.< -
The Golden Scepter
Author: @Mystic Fortune
ID: 9852
Length: 4 missions
Difficulty: moderate to high
Level: 35-53
Morality: Heroic
Plot: The contact is Mystic Fortune, though in the arc he is referred to as the "Mysterious Traveller" and/or "The Watcher". He starts off by asking you to retrieve a recently unearthed artifact (The Golden Scepter) which is discovered by Doc Delilah. The scepter has unimaginable power, and he wishes to banish it from your world before it can fall into the wrong hands. Before long his attempt to banish the scepter backfires, and his mind is ripped apart. From there you must assist the Mysterious Traveller in regaining control over his mind, so that he may track down the Scepter once more. All the while battling the demon Pathos and his Brimstone Legion.

I think I've done pretty good for the limited space available. I would definitely appreciate some honest feedback. It's been published since April of '09 and I've just been polishing it off and on since. Most of the time people will play it and rate it without leaving any feedback at all. -
I guess that makes 50 entries.. suppose I missed out. Oh well, next time perhaps..
At any rate, good luck to all the submissions! -

All I ask is that you be honest, the current rating is 5 stars. If you feel it doesn't deserve a 5 star rating, please explain why. -
Thanks for clearing that up, looks like I'm waiting until July.

Here's a micro version of my namesake, Mystic Fortune.
