Agreed with you wholeheartedly. The devs have managed to keep things afloat through some really rough times. I can't even imagine being able to deal with that sort of pressure.

In short, the Devs are awesome. I know I appreciate 'em and the work they do.

This here was an awesome prank. Just woke up and you guys had me up until the removal of sounds, heh. Teach me to read announcements pre-coffee jolt!
  3. This is some awesome news! I'm loving the new enemy additions, and yay for the Legacy! I always wondered why the Lost never moved in there. It's isolated and full of warm bodies to 'recruit.' Ditto the Vahz.

I personally love the Hollows and never have any trouble soloing it, but after running so many alts through, you start to learn 'safer' areas to use to cut across. Still, the changes are welcomed anyway! Anything that cuts down travel time and dodging of hurled boulders is a plus, hee.

Thanks War Witch! I can't wait to see the new, revamped Hollows.

Why do the devs hate every character over level 20 and player that has a character over level 20. This midnight content will have missions and contacts that wont be accesed by higer level charcters. At least give me the option do the content as my my own mission or place each and every story arc and stand alone mission into the flashback system.

I pay full price to play this game and i want to have full access to every bit of the content with each and every charcter. I want every side mission and every contact that enters my contact bar.
Or at least tell me that there is something in the works better the Orubuis fishy thing.

If im told im overqulified to play your game. Does this mean your underqualifed for me to pay you to play this game?
Since you seem to want to tell me wich content i can access and who i can have as a contact.

I really want to do every mission in this game with the same charcter. Its sort of advanced badge hunting. But i want to do those missions as real missions form a real contact. And as my real mission

I thought the devs were listing to us when the made the Rikti content 35+. It seems they have fish in thier ears.

Dont give me swiss cheese content i want solid content. Don tell me what my charcter has already lost access.

If all the content the midnite crew has down to to the last mission is arranged in a nice neat story arcs without any filler
stand alone missions. Then things would be a little palatable.

But its a bunch of evill smelly rotten rotten grapes. When cryptic advertises GREAT NEW CONTENT FOR OTHER PEOPLE.

Or at least let me talk to a special contact that lets me /levedown so i can at least enjoy it completely.
I think its only fair since im paying the complete price for a
complete subscription that I would have complete access to all the content and complete every last mission as my mission.

Sorry about this rave. But I REALLY HATE being told theirs new content coming out an Im overqualifed to do any portion no matter how MINUTE

    [/ QUOTE ]

You haven't even seen the content live yet, nor on test, yet you're frothing at the mouth how unfair it all is to you? Wow... How do you know that you can't exemplar down to do this content like you can with the Ouro contact missions?

Perhaps take a deep breath and relax, then wait for the code to go live before you freak out?

I don't think it was ever possible to do every single bit of content in the game on every character doing it 'as you level into it' as you're asking for.
  5. I have no words... I'm so stoked about this!!! This is MORE than I'd expected! And to get that awesome Crab Spider outfit? Gimme!!! My daughter will die to know you can play a Fortunata and Blood Widow now. Thank you!!

The Roman setting is win. Period. I love anything associated with Greek and Roman lore, so this is perfect. I was really really hoping to see more of the Nemesis/Rikti connection mentioned somewhere in this issue, as well as Fifth Column, but.... I'm betting we'll see more in the Midnight Squad content. Right... right...? Bueller...?

Thank you so much for all of it. The customizeable power trays are something I've been wanting for ages.
  6. Move to another zone to do your sweeping then, such as the gated areas, or Hazard Zones, as I've advised others to do during invasions.

Killing Skulls in KR when invasion hits? Move to Perez Park. Voila. No more invasion intrusion. Hellions in Galaxy and Atlas? Perez Park. Outcasts, Council or CoT in SC? Head to the Hollows, Boomtown, or Perez, respectively. Tons of CoT in the Hollows too.

    Trolls? Hollows.
Clockwork? Perez or Boomtown, level depending.
Warriors and Family and Council? Striga Island.
Banished Pantheon and CoT and Tsoo? Dark Astoria.
Freakshow and Skyraiders and Lost? Terra Volta
    Crey, Nemesis, Devouring Earth? Eden

Shadow Shard contains many various types of enemies on its floating 'islands.'

And don't forget there are loads of Proteans, CoT and Rikti in the Abandoned Sewer Network.

Even squishier characters can street sweep effectively in hazard zones if one plays smart and well.
  7. Something definitely is off.

I signed up around Oct 7, '07, using GvE and used the included free month code, referred my husband and kids using the referral system, which added further free time to my account.

I didn't get my 3 mo reward until Jan 15-ish or so, about a week later than I expected. My kids and husband, on the other hand, all of whom signed up later than I did, got their vet rewards the week that I should have gotten mine.

It's a trivial difference, but it makes me wonder exactly how it's calculated.

Despite major net connection issues, this has been the most fun two days I've spent in game. Got the Accolade on three characters and I'm working on the fourth!

Thanks once again for turning the raids back on.
  9. YES! Thank you guys! You rock!

I've so wanted this to happen for a long time. This just adds to the awesome that is this game, and the devs.
  10. My first night playing, I got frustrated. Utterly. I'd honestly say, angry, at how difficult it was for me. I stopped playing for several days, vowing it wasn't worth the effort.

This is my first MMO, so I'm used to point and click movement of other PC type games, NOT keyboard movement and button click power selection, etc. Having to suddenly learn this defied me. I couldn't jump onto anything to save my life, couldn't run with the arrow keys without weaving all over the place and getting stuck. (Add to this, my friend kept speed boosting me and.... oi. Bad news... 'Hello Wall and Angry Mob!!' )

My friend convinced me to try again though, and I took it slower and took the time to street sweep some Smellions to learn the movement keys and how best to manage. Eventually I remapped all my keys so my left hand is in the typing 'home' position. This makes everything so much more intuitive for me, thus... WIN.

The Hollows... ouch. I HATED the Hollows with a passion on my first charrie, but I did solo Frostfire, on an Emp/Sonic Defender no less. D: How I did that, I'll NEVER know because I was so hopeless and clueless.

Now, I adore the Hollows and solo all the missions on all my new alts. Hollows mishes get me to Level 15 in speedy fashion and I like the stories. I even have plenty of leveling time to run a few other contact arcs as well, and pick up my raptor pack with a quick Safeguard.

The game can be confusing at first and the lack of documentation outside the forum and wiki is lamentable to me, but the game is learned very quickly as I found. I'm an almost exclusive solo-er and enjoy all aspects of the game. The challenge to me is figuring out how to deal with enemies without backup. Especially since I was told so many times how X or Y AT couldn't solo. I decided to prove that wrong and have fun doing that.

Best thing is, I got all three of my kids playing with me. Very much win.
  11. It appears they've found a way to use the command line to send email, rather than the actual email system. :| Some players have confirmed that it is possible to do it this way before reaching level 10. Sadly.
  12. This is an improvement, IMO. Thank you very much for listening and trying to make changes that will help with attrition on TF's.

I can see that kicking offline players could be used to grief, but it would be nice that if someone reneged on their agreement to participate and disappeared for a long period (long period being not just a few hours absence, but perhaps... 24/48 hours?), they could be kicked by the leader to ease the mob load on the remaining players that stuck with the TF.

It's still discouraging to think of losing so many hours of hard won battle all because someone couldn't follow through with the TF for whatever reason, but this is definately a change in the right direction.

Thanks again! (now maybe... reduce the needed numbers for starting TF's?)
  13. I'm afraid that I'm going to have to agree with everything said here. I love this game and the devs, but... I don't like getting punished for what a minority of the game is doing.

My daughter joined a Synapse TF group when asked, and apparently it was a PuG. They started with five around 4 PM. By 9 PM, they hadn't even gotten halfway. I insisted on my daughter logging off as it was getting too late and she had been attached to the computer for 5 hours give or take without having even gotten her homework started.

The group disbanded with an agreement to meet up at 5 pm the next day to finish.

Sounds good. Except... Only two of the group even showed up. My daughter, and the holder of the TF. So what can they do? They're stuck in the TF and unable to do anything else except street sweeping until the TF is dropped or ends. They went on and slogged through as a duo so all those hours of work the day before wasn't for nothing.

By 9:30 PM, they still hadn't finished due to breaks/meals, etc. It was one mission after another of clearing all clockwork in random warehouse, yada yada and I could tell my daughter was getting tired and kind of fed up with it, but to her credit, she stuck it out.

Babbage ambush happened, but they were stuck. Only the two of them and repeated announcements to broadcast only got one hero responding to help out. I logged onto one of my charries, but four of us was an exercise in futility. We gave up and let him despawn, then logged off.

The next day, something came up at home and we had to be out of the house and my daughter was late to the meeting time by an hour, but she had an email from the TF leader that she had plans come up and had gone to dinner with her family. So... nothing got done on the TF, and my daughters charrie is still stuck in limbo. Thankfully, she's got lowbie alts she can play around on.

Day four, they meet at the set time. Still only the two of them. None of the others that had started showed back up. I'm unclear if they quit, or if they just never logged back on again. Both of them were now determined to finish and not waste all those hours. Good for them.

They ran through the remaining content of the TF and got to the CWK at close to 9 PM. Lo and behold, one of the former members of the TF has logged back on and rushes to help out. The three of them take CWK down and finish up.

It took three days of mind-numbing grind and four days of real time to finish the TF and sadly, my daughter seems burned out and has hardly played since then. If that's 'as intended', I'm disappointed. I'm highly unlikely to ever bother with TF's now as I have a family to deal with. I'm AFK frequently for dinner, phone calls, chores, doorbell, etc.

WHY can't new TF members be recruited if the ones you started with don't show up? This makes no sense to me. None. This horrible grind-fest going on for hours and hours is frustrating and discouraging to the extreme and the now added difficulty attributed to group attrition just makes it even more of a dis-incentive to keep going.

Legit TF runners should NOT be penalized for what other players do, ie non-logging/dropping. Let them recruit more members to help put the party number back at the 'needed' limit. Get rid of the unnecessary 'hunt all' missions until the TF is a reasonable length for all players, not just the hard-core. I would have joined the TF in a heart-beat to help out, but I couldn't.

I'm sorry, but farming via TF's for recipes by some members just isn't important enough/game impacting enough to make a change that screws over those of us that play for content over loot.

I seriously hope you reconsider the changes that just gave a huge slap in the face to PuG TF's that have to deal with team attrition outside their control.
  14. Played all weekend long on my main and got her to level 46. Many many glorious hours of beating on Nemesis soldiers. :P A good time was had by all, I say.

How about the one from Angus McQueen that has Baphomet in it, I'd like to see that one added.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would be awesome. I didn't even know there was a badge attached to his defeat until I did that mish and was pleasantly surprised to see it awarded.

I'm totally in agreement with adding safeguards and mayhems. I rarely do these in my leveling simply because I want to see the story arcs as I level instead of the single instance mishes. I do like the radios for random teaming, but the stories are so much more desireable to me when I solo and they never get old no matter how often I've done them with alts.

I'd like to see other mishes added because some of them are just fun to do. I wish I could remember the name, but there was a good one involving the Rikti, fertility drugs, and the Carnies. I don't think that was a gold book story arc, but I liked it. Angus McQueen was, I believe, the contact on that. There's so many others to be honest, but I don't remember the actual names at the moment. (Actually, anything Rikti related would be awesome to me. That overally storyline is probably my most fav of all enemy groups. I love the "Rescue the Rikti/Lost" mishes particularly.) Any of the Nemesis related mini-arcs would be good. Also favs of mine.
  16. There's a radio mish where you have to fight an Arachnos Lt. named LoPan. Reference to the baddie in Big Trouble in Little China? (though such a ref would seem more appropriate if the Lt were a Tsoo. :P)
  17. I know this post is old, but, I've had two recent consecutive safeguard mishes failed because of the same issue.

I enter the area fine (soloing,) go to the bank fine, fight off the initial robbers and get the 'Robbers are escaping, stop them, blah blah,' message.

That's where it gets screwy. I ran to the vault and there were no robbers. None. There was a floating bag of money in the vault doorway that twitched forlornly every so often, but no NPC villain attached to the loot. I met no one in the hallway either.

Needless to say, I ran around the bank quickly to see if they'd somehow got past me due to lag (which was bad that day,) but nothing. The mish failed soon after and I got kicked out of the map.

The second time, I was duo-ing with someone and we fought off the initial thieves with no problem, then ran for the vault. In the hallway, we met up with generic villain 'Pyra' and took her out. But her henchman, 'generic skull thief,' was nowhere around.

He wasn't in the vault, nor anywhere else in the bank. But right in the vault doorway, once again, there was that disembodied floating bag of twitching money.

Safeguard failed once more just seconds later.

This happened to me both times on the same charrie on the same day. Very disappointing to say the least since Safeguards aren't exactly my fav thing. :P

Were both of these instances due to lag, or is there an insidious bug lurking around the radio? 0_0
