They all look great...
Personally, I like the SG on the far right. Kind of a blend of old - original colors - and new - belly top and flipped skirt.
Maybe it's just that I like when my wife wears stuff like that...
Edit: Oh.. and 'extreme' renders?
Do.. tell... -

This sounds great! I'd love to budget for the set up.. I can certainly use the workout, that's for sure...
Now... Does anyone know if they can set up a Wii controller with the game?
Imagine the moves then... -

Punk and grunge are really just two forms of metal. Nu wave, yeah, that's definitely not metal lol.
[/ QUOTE ]
Punk and grunge are what grew out of the remains when the hair bands killed the metal.

Punk has been around since the late 70's.... Blondie anyone? The Pretenders?
Grunge is.. well... better left uncommented upon. -

I'm trying to but something bad is happening and I can't figure out what it is! Any demo my demoedit tries to save can't play back at all. The game just says it can't load the demo file and crashes out.
The new number that appears after the MOV command is a custom weapon! Change it to some low number and you'll do your animation with some kind of weapon in hand.
Oh, I fixed the Dynarray thing, too, that somebody else pointed out. Forgot to put a space between the two words. D'oh!
Now if I can just isolate whatever is causing demos to stop loading.... grrr.... I thought this was going to be a pretty easy update!

Is your editor still saving in Unicode format by default? That was giving me problems for a while. -

I've never had an issue with the Hollows, the upgrade to it sounds pretty cool to me. But I think Boomtown needs the facelift more.

I'd like to see Boomtown upgraded as well...
...but maybe the devs have something else planned for it in the future. -

Pitch = arctan( Z/sqrt(X^2+Y^2) )
If Y<0, use
Yaw = arctan( Y/X )
If Y>0, use
Yaw = arctan( Y/X ) +/- 3.14
(If X is zero, your YAW is either 0, if Y is negative, or 3.14, if Y is positive. For +/-, pick the opposite of whatever the opposite sign of the arctangent. In other words, add to a negative number, subtract from a positive one. "arctan" is the inverse tangent, which may be written "tan^-1" on your calculator.)

The best thing to do is make demorecords of all your characters, then line them up somewhere nice and set the time of day to just after noon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pardon my confusion. What's a demorecord?
[/ QUOTE ]
Demorecording is something you can do in game by typing:
/demorecord name
Now you are creating a file that is recording all of the characters, npc's, bad guys, FX, etc., that is occuring in the game around you. Type:
/demostop
to stop recording. Go to your City of Heroes install folder and look for a client_demos folder. This is where your demorecords wind up. Pull the info of your character sout and put them in a new demo file, choose your location, run the demo and you've got your characters all side by side and emoting...
Demos are easy to edit, but they can be intimidating. Check out the Multi-Media section for more info on it. In particular, look for MastrerMarbles demo tutorial. It'll walk you through, step-by-step, how to make your own demo. After that tutorial, you'll have the skills you need to do what you want here.
Be warned, it is so simple, you'll get more ideas than you'll be able to follow up on.
The HARD part about demo editing is getting the coordinates right! Some tools that make this easier, though are Zloth's demoeditor and demolauncher. -

Since you recently upgraded the servers, it is quite obvious that the problems are all your fault, and not mine, because I pay 15 bucks a month and am therefore perfect and know much more about programming and hardware then you. Especially since I just stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, and recently switched my car insurance to Geico.

At exactly what time (PST) will Double XP weekend END on Sunday Feb. 10th? I am planning an all weekend LAN party...
[/ QUOTE ]
The servers will come down for their normal maintenance starting at 6 AM Pacific (9 AM Eastern). Because of the maintenance done yesterday, this should be a quick bounce and be back up well under the 2 hours we reserve.
Sorry I can't be more specific, but that's as close as I can get without giving you a time (which I can't guarantee so, I won't).
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the question was when does it end.. not begin...
At any rate, based on the announcement, I believe 2XP is "guaranteed" until ... 12pm EST(I think?) Sunday night... But it usually runs til server maintenance on Monday morning. -

If you are not in the game 'world', where the game engine is rendering the 3d objects, hitting print screen will copy the image of whatever is on your screen to your computer's clipboard. All you need to do is alt-tab out, bring up MS Paint, MS Photo Editor, or any other such image editor, and paste the image in.
This works with not only the costume creation screen, but also the enhancement management screen or even character selection. -

Akuma,
There is a group of players coming down from Sac, I am guessing if you coordinated and cooperated on gas money and schedules you could probably find a ride.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's a ride that's the issue, I can offer a ride. But I can't help suspect that it's probably moreso the timing (right after work on a Friday) than it is the ride.
Unfortunately, Milpitas is close enough to Sacramento that some people can't warrant taking the time off. But it's also just far enough away that there won't be enough time to commute to the event right after work. For example, if a Sacramentan gets off at 5pm and they leave directly from work...they won't get to D&B until 6:30pm under the best of traffic conditions (which is highly unlikely during Friday rush hour).
I can't speak for everyone from Sacto (since I'm one of the luckier ones who will probably be able to arrange to take a couple hours off so I can make it)...but I suspect we're going to loose a lot of players from Sacramento if the meet 'n greet ends up being scheduled at 6pm on a Friday. And that'd be such a shame since Sacramento is pretty darn close to the Bay.
Again, I understand that it's likely very tricky booking a venue during the Holiday season. If a Saturday is impossible and you can only get a Friday, is there perhaps a way to compromise and push back the time a bit (instead of 6pm-11pm, make it 7pm-12am or 8pm-1am?) so those who have to commute a little farther can make it?
[/ QUOTE ]
If it is on Friday, I won't be able to go at all, as I work evenings.
It would be a lot of fun to drive down with a group of people... ROAD TRIP!
...but if it isn't on a Saturday, I won't be able to go. -

Well, I hit my first snag... Those darn Rikti won't stand still long enough for me to take a picture of their swords. They insist on smacking my character with them!
So if anyone has any good Rikti sword images, please post them here.
Thanks!
[/ QUOTE ]
I would suggest demorecording them... Then you can dump the images to a folder - uing Zloth's spiffy demo launcher.
You could even edit the demo to get good clear shots. -
Sorry to hear about the fracas... Glad to hear that you're feeling better.
I hope you can get your stories back. I wrote a few stories on another site based on Baldur's Gate, so I can certainly understand the attachment to the stories. Your ISP should have backups that they can dig into to return your stuff.
But hey, look at the bright side... I can't wait to see if DJ does something with GG.

That did NOT come out right... -
I have been working on getting my first music-demo culled together (for about 14 months, but that's not important right now
) and am trying to find a particular visual.
Does anyone know of a bell in the game anywhere? I thought there was one in Founder's, but can't find it now.
I'd appreciate any help. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think you might be able to boost the camera distance in your demo.
0 CAM POS 0 -9997 6
0 CAM PYR 0 0 0
Mess with the bolded number and see what the camera does. I'd recommend you try changing it in increments of 10, positive or negative (It's currently negative). If the figure disappears, then you moved it the wrong 'direction' and you should try subtracting if you added, or vice versa.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just a quick note here...
POS is given in X/Z/Y coordinates, so changing that number (the second field) would move the camera up or down (along the Z-axis).
Looking at the earlier reply, it looks like the character is standing at 0/-10000/0, so 0/-9997/6 would position the camera down 3 "feet" along the Z-axis and 6 "feet" along the Y-axis.
One thing you can do to make the rotation look right is to not have the character rotate, but to have the camera rotate around an invisible point near the character.
Get Zloth's Demo Editor and load your demo. In the first screen, highlight a camera line, then click on 'Movement'. Play around with the settings on the 'Circle' tab and you should get a clean rotation.
In particular, select the 'Center on a fixed point' option...
Good luck! -
Damn... Awesome, as usual.
I have got to shake all the loose change out of my couch to get one of these.
Out of curiosity, how long does it take for a render? I'm guessing you do draft renders before a final high-res render... -

Regarding demos asked in another post - I haven't noticed any differences in I10 demos yet. Demos are not totally broken in I9 but the no-effects-on-self bug is really annoying to work around.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that was me that asked about it. Are weapons still invisible? -

The biggest problem with the voice actor was he sounded like he was trying to be Don LaFontaine -- the "In a world where..." voiceover artist who does a lot of the blockbuster movie trailers.
The difference is, that actually is LaFontaine's voice. He's not faking it, and he's not lowering his register to sound... well, like Don LaFontaine. I think this guy would have been perfectly fine if he'd done the lines in his normal register.
And the visuals were indeed sweet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed... The VO actor was trying to recite the narrative in a way that didn't compliment his voice. I think his voice is ok, he just needs to work on the inflections and pauses to get the most out of it.
Great video.. I can't wait til they fix the demorecord so that we can start making decent videos again...
But.... this seemed to be made with demorecord.. DID they fix it?
