1. Warrior bosses can easily be found on the northwestern-most island of Striga Isle, where Lars Hansen is.

Also, a hunt macro (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=119031) helps when you are searching for those specific targets in large groups. (Apologies for the full link.. my html-fu is weak.)
2. I want to add that there are performance issues after every issue. It usually takes 2 or 3 patches to get everything optimized.

As was suggested, defrag your hard drive (this will help a lot), get new drivers, and so on... But mostly, be patient and reasonable. If you have a great rig, and someone with an older set up can run the game fine, then it has to be a local issue.

It should also be noted - with the thought that, "If game X runs good on my machine, why doesn't game Y?" - no two games are programmed the same way... some will run better than others for a variety of reasons.
3. Well, I'm 46... But my wife's father plays (we got her entire family playing the game).

He is 74.

To balance things out, our son also plays... He just turned 7.

Not like we're not also getting free issues at the same time
Some of this I have seen being mentioned by a dev (Demon Summoning, Dual Pistols, etc), but others I have not.

I'm not questioning your belief that it is in GR, but could you please provide links to avoid the inevitable debate as to whether the feature is planned or not? (I'm looking at the 6 new zones in particular. )

I'm hoping for the Universal Enhancement Slots...

I16 Real Soon?

OK.. Someone who's better at Dev-Summoning... We need to have a dev in here to either confirm or deny the rumors of impending activation of Issue 16 TOMORROW!

I'd hate for this to be a false alarm and us all get worked up over nothing only to find that out by logging in tomorrow and not finding I16 IN MY FACE! ! !

...

...

<Ahem>

But seriously... A dev or comm-rep can prevent a big letdown by poking their head in here...

10. These are very cool...

Making the pictures a bit smaller would make it easier to view. Also, sitting back further from the screen means less crossing of the eyes.

Very nice!

I could be wrong, but it looks like he's just emphasizing the six-digit hex format for the colors.

(I misunderstood the question initially when I wrote out the following, but I'm leaving it in for clarity's sake. )

I haven't sat down to work it out, but if you look at it in hexadecimal format, it makes more sense. Basically - and I'm sure I'm getting the format wrong but it should get the point across - the colors are represented in a six digit hexadecimal number, between 000000 and FFFFFF.

The first two digits represent red, the second two digits represent green, and the last two represent blue.

So full on red looks like this - FF0000, green is 00FF00, and blue is 0000FF. Black is 000000 and white is FFFFFF.

Does that make sense?

* Death Traps: I'm a silver-age fan and those heroes were ALWAYS being trapped inside giant hour glasses with falling/suffocating sands, strapped to rockets being launched at cities and dropped into pits filled with various mutant carnivores. Sleeping gas or some knock-out agent as soon as you enter the mission map then you wake up to find yourself in a death trap. There is a count-down timer before it goes off. You need to click glowies, destroy objects, defeat robots, etc before you run out of time. The death trap maker was nice enough to tell you during his monologue exactly what needs to be done. If you fail then you end up in the hospital; but your debt amounts are double that of a street sweeping death.
I like this... And they have already something like this in place.

Ernesto Hess, anyone?

I wanted to try to implement something like this in an AE mission, but I don't think the mechanic is there.

Just so you know, a lot of us don't find the command unusable... We use it a lot for setting up shots to make videos, not to mention noting specific locations for badges, contacts, and any other miscellanea that are static and people might want to find.

Can it be improved upon? Sure.. But it's hardly unusable.
18. I've used xs.to

I haven't tried to do anything special with images there, but it's free.

21. <QR> <---Stands for Quick Reply. You'll see that in a lot of threads if you read the boards. It just means someone is using the Quick Reply box at the bottom and not responding to a particular post.

Someone mentioned Paragonwiki a few posts back, which is the ultimate resource for this game. I would like to add to that...

The COH Titan Network

This link has several resources, including a link to Paragonwiki. (I mention this because I cannot access Paragonwiki.com at work... However I can access the wiki through the Titan Network.)

The Titan Network also has a link to Red Tomax, which is like a spoiler site for missions (very useful) and the best build planner to date, Mid's Hero Designer.

Don't let all this information confuse you, though. When it comes down to it, just play the game and have fun! If you have questions in game, feel free to ask. The vast majority of this game's population is very helpful.

Welcome to the game!

I only want one thing from the new boards. Everything else is fluff.

When I click on a thread topic... I want to be taken to the first post in that thread. Not tossed somewhere seemingly random and forced to scroll up to find the OP.

That's it. Too much to ask?

Oh and a pony.

[/ QUOTE ]

Um, you can do that here. You see those little page numbers that appear below a thread topic? Yeah, if you click the little 1, guess what happens? You get the first page of the thread.

Why software companies have to make software to do the most common sense things for people just boggles my mind. Use a little logic.

The only thing that really lacks on this board system is the Search function, as stated above.

[/ QUOTE ]
I have the same problem. Many threads have only one page, so there is no little number to click on. When I go to that thread for the very first time, I almost never arrive at the first post in the thread, and have to scroll up.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is a column that says 'Replies'. Under that heading it shows how many total posts are in the thread, as well as how many are unread.

When you click on a thread that has only one page, it will take you to the first unread post... You can tell if you'll be taken to the top or not by the 'Post Count (Unread Post Count)' numbers.

It's not that difficult.

Not to say that the current software sucks like a super-massive black hole.

I'm curious if they are going to continue the practice of not hosting avatars, and if they are going to leave signature images off.

So you know, sure's is not a proper conjunction. The words sure and as should never be combined in such a way. Your sentence should read, "I sure as hell hope not."

For future reference.

Also, just to clarify, you won't need to reload from the discs if you still have your trial installed. Just Upgrade your account with the new code.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was just about to mention this.

UPGRADE! (This point is hammered home quite a bit because there used to be a lot of people making the mistake of adding a new account and thus losing the characters from the original trial account.)

If you've been playing on a trial account, you already have the full game installed. The only difference between the versions - Good vs Evil (GvE), Architect Edition (AE), Mac Version, or even an older City of Villains edition - is the goodies you get with them.

As was mentioned, the AE gives a free booster pack between either the Magic or Cyborg boosters. I'm not sure what other goodies are associated with it. But it does have the most recent build of the game available on disc should you need to reinstall at some point. (If you are planning a reinstall, it is recommended that you copy the current installation so it doesn't take days to download all of the updates. There is a player guide for that process.)

Personally, I like the Mac Edition because of the Valkyrie costume sets and the Mission Teleporter.

It should also be mentioned that you are not limited to any particular edition or booster pack. You can feasibly - and many people do - upgrade an account with several different editions and get the goodies from each. It should be pointed out that this is a sickness among some of us.

By the way, if you believe you are going to be playing for quite some time, I also recommend getting your time in bulk. I pay yearly for the most savings, but 3-month and 6-month blocks also give discounts.

Welcome to the game!
