To set the scenario, I was shopping around Monday night, and needed to purchase a Rune for something I was krafting when creep bidding led me up to 100k infl for a Rune. (Sometimes I pay the buy it Nao just to see how much the "NAO" price is). Well after buying my Rune, I put in a bid for 10 Runes @ 10k, well throughout my play session last night i slowly saw myself purchasing Runes.
Fastforward to just now, and I logged in to see the stack there sold for a total of 40k (10 Runes total) and looked at the last 5 sales 100, 555, 505, 1000, and 10 all today.
I think I may have effectively reversed (for the short term at least) the high price on this "common" salvage just by lowering the last 5 sales shown.
Not really sure what my point is other then to just show how fickle the market can be, and kinda to apologize to anyone whose salvage flipping niche I may have disturbed with my bit of chaos. -
I subsituted Fire/ for DP/ on my DP/MM build, and was able to keep the same sets for fire that I do for DP/. 2 things being sacrificed are 5% Recharge and a travel power (I have been using Sprint/Ninja Run and its done well enough for me) You will have 22% global Damage buff with S/L capped (an even 45%)

By "Solo mob" killing do you mean fighting a single target, killing multiple targets solo (a midrange setting), or "Farming" killing the most amount of targets while solo (+3/x8)?
I personally would say the Fire/MM for the first two, however for the third Arch/MM.
Anything you can do to a Arch/MM build you can do to a Fire/MM build and the Fire/MM should outperform, until you start getting into spawns of the x8 variety, then Arch/MM wins out because you have RoA up for each team sized spawn. (I'm theorycrafting that both builds are identical and have a significant amount of high recharge and defense)
So for anything less then farming Fire/MM, for a farmer Arch/MM. -
Playing a blast set on a defender can be SO much different on a blaster that no using a set can lead to less fun. That being sad the big 3 sets I'd pair with /MM to not be FoTM would be, Rad/, Ice/, Energy/ or Sonic/. You could also try a Rad/Fire but I wouldn't recommend that without some sort of defense build (I'm not saying make a defense build, but if you're going to be a PBAoE death machine defense is the way to go.)
What You will really want to do is 4-slot Devastations in your single target blasts netting you 9% global damage buff, add this to your ED-Capped slotted AoE and you are putting out well over 100% enhanced damage on your AoE's. Again just tossing out Ideas but you could put together a fairly nice high recharge S/L capped Ice/MM/Cold Blaster. -
-
On top of me coming up with (to me) an awesome background story for my character concept, /Mental is my favorite blaster secondary (I have a Fire/MM, Arch/MM, Ice/MM, and Nrg/MM and now DP/MM). Not sure what exactly I like about it, could just be Psyscream as another AoE early on, but I really like the set as a whole and just can't seem to get behind any other secondaries since playing it.

Quote:I was going to leave this unadressed, but I can't.3. Blasters in general: Now would be a great time to revisit this AT. While the mezzed/rooted ability to fire your first and second powers is extremely nice, defiance itself is somewhat useless for me. Getting rid of the damage portion and adding a blanket 10% ranged defense would be a nice change for survivability. Also, Tier 9's in general need to go up to the level of Rain of Arrows and Full Assault in order to put blasters back on the damage throne. Most of the blasters skip their tier 9s because of the endurance drain/long recharge associated with it. Cutting the timers and drain would go a long way to rebuilding the credibility of the AT.
The bolded part specifically, just no. U want 10% ranged damage? slot two sets of thunderstrikes, I'll take my damage buff thank you, now if you had said to add a 10 dmg increase and forego the damage buildup then sure (not that I think its needed), but giving the blasters ranged defense? (or any for that matter) is ridiculous. Defiance (2.0) is more then enough to keep blasters up to par, and the Tier 9s are just fine as they are as well. They are the only AT that gets their full attack chain by the 20s (barring an exception here or there).
I've only known a few people to have skipped their Nuke and that was usually for a specialty build (PVP, STF, or ITF specific build). -

Quote:I could be wrong, but I believe it is a set amount of infl/inf/xp/prst per bonus, so I believe you still get the bonus but it is not effected by 2xp, but that could just all be in my head, I thought I've seen it asked and answered, but it could have been in a global channel and someone else just answering with their thoughts as well.Ok, I know Patrol Experience consumption is turned off, except for Patrol debt consumption, during Double XP weekends but what about the following Day Job bonuses?
1) Law Enforcer/Arachnos Agent - XP bonus on mission completion
2) Banker/Thief - Influence/Infamy bonus on mission completion
3) City Official/Demagogue - Influence/Infamy bonus on mission completion
4) Monitor Duty - Prestige bonus on mission completion
I've never heard anything about the effect one would have on the other, and I can't find anything on these forums or on Paragonwiki, so I'm guessing their bonuses are not turned off. But any confirmation from any knowledgeable person would be nice. =)
Thank you in advance. -
So with SOs its only behind Sonic (due to -Res), Fire (the Dmg King) and Archery and with IOs its marginally around Energy, (which seems to be the balancing points for blast sets) and a good deal better then AR? So what makes it so Horrible? It felt fine to me during beta.

Quote:Um...It's only been mentioned in just about every GR announcement they've made.
I like this game a lot, but information is really not Paragon Studios greatest strenght.
Quote:If DP is the 'money maker' they should just have included it in Going Rogue and made it not accessible unless you had a code for GR.
Grayed out powersets are nothing new (EATs have always been greyed out unless unlocked and Primaries and Secondaries are greyed out when not able to be paired with another set [shields & claws/katana, claws and Stone Armor) -
Quote:If you're asking what I think you're asking, You cannot preorder the package with the extra items. You can prepurchase (I'm assuming sometime next week) the expansion, online only, w/out the extras of the complete edition (or whatever its called) and then purchase the extra items later when Going Rogue goes live, if you wish to prepurchase to have DP next week, or Demon Summoning earlier the GR. If you want to wait until July for DP and Demon Summoning you can then purchase the Complete Edition either at a store in North America (a retail box) or online (no box and disc, but in game goodies).Alright well I live in Canada. And i was just wondering if anyone knows if the preorder package with the whole extra items and the like is going to be available here? If so can i just pre order at say EB games, or do i have to go online and order through American site ?

Quote:Slash-10th letter of the alphebet-ny hockey teamCAPTIAL LETTER call to action. Misspelled indication that the following missive is NOT intended to be a DOOM thread...transitions fluidly toward doom! A snarky comment. Eye-roll icon. Standard comparison to this game!! To THAT game!! A rose-tinted reference to those good old days when the player base understood the game and everything was considerably superior in most every way. A challenge to the developers to implement a dozen changes for things the developers have indicated are either unlikely or have already been indicated to be in process! A declaration that these changes would ensure the games longevity! Request for developer response! NOW!
Another reference to this game...and that game. A confusing tangent hinting at quitting the game for good! Imperative towards forum contributers not to challenge these assertions! Self-aggrandizing reference to length of play time and accumulation of veteran rewards! Aside pointing out the many flaws in the reward system!
A quick burst of internet acronyms!
Disheartened post-script!

My First Blaster (and 50) was an Nrg/EM. It was fun, but I later on made an Nrg/Elec and enjoyed him a hell of alot better. Same basic playstyle, but just better overall ability with the Nrg/Elec. And speaking as someone who has played the heck out of and loves /MM to death (lvl 50 Fire/MM, lvl 44 Arch/MM, lvl 33 Ice/MM and eventually a DP/MM) I'd still say /Elec. (Although /MM would be my 2nd Suggestion.)

The only thing I don't think would fly is a Tier 1 with a disorient. It would be cool to see melee immobe like crippling axe kick, or something that could be kinda cool and at least mildly thematic (as far as natural goes) is a Throwing knife that immobes or knocks down (kinda like impale [spines] but faster or focus [claws])

Quote:i'm sorry for your mishap
but actually, not that sorry, since i was the one who sold it
look at it this way, i only got 137 mil back after market fees
what server are you on?
i will return the extra influence to you (over what i was asking for it)
Lol, I'm over on liberty, its cool tho, I'm not in that much need of the infl. just wanted to point out a booboo and get some lulz. just buy something nice with it! -
So I've finally done it, bid 150mil on a lvl 28 Kin Combat Dam/End instead of 15mil...my forehead still hurts from the facepalm.
-
Im gonna throw out either Claw/ or Kat/. Both are fast and have very nice mitigation in their attack chain (Claw=Focus, imo best ST scrapper attack, Kat=Divine Avalanche) My Claw/DA is lvl 34 and nigh unkillable without IO bonuses on +2, and my Kat/DA is still a baby but is fun at that lvl.

Quote:I know that Redside is a completely different market, I should have specified I was asking about blueside, i was thinking blueside since a tank was mentioned.I can't speak for anyone else, but when I look at the red markets, there are lots of things being bid on that there is 0 supply, or the price is way too out there with like 1 for sale and 300 bids.
LOTG 7.5
Some parts of the Gaussian set
Blessing of the Zephyr +KB protection
Numina +regen
I know that I spent a few weeks trying to obtain these via the market with no luck for my Stone/Fire Brute. I'm lucky, I run plenty of SF's, so was able to stockpile merits and get them at the Vendor or through random AE ticket rolls. -
What are you trying to buy? I'm seriously wondering what went months without selling.
-
Quote:It's these that kill me, cuz they are also the ones that are typically talking about not having the infl and other nice things because getting them through merits takes too long.
It is a pity though when people do this sort of thing because they just don't get it, as opposed to "getting it" but not caring.
Quote:I only spend merits like this when I want a recipe at a specific level. A lot of times, the recipe isn't available for the level I want it, so no matter how much inf I have, I can't buy what doesn't exist.
