I like this feature, but I agree w/the OP - it does work against teaming. The function he was refering to that was removed was the 'x man team = x spawn map'. That was the only way to get it w/out teaming (or padding). It can be said that it actually encouraged teaming. A 7 man team looked for an 8th perhaps just for the increased diff/xp/inf/prestige. And now they dont have to bother looking if they just increase it w/this new feature.

Its not doom, but the OP is not wrong.

[/ QUOTE ] The OP may not be wrong, but if that is indeed the case I don't think it's a bad thing. Solely for the fact that it will give players more options on how to customize their experience playing. Which is a good thing.

Well, at least it will get people out of the AE... I doubt the expanded difficulty settings will work in there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even better - I hope if a character goes into an AE mission as an eight-man team it locks that character for a week, strips them of goods, and makes them level 1.

Setting yourself up as a "larger teams" is so obviously an abuse of AE that there would be no debate or not if they player was trying to abuse it or not.

    Like it.

    Cut to the quick!

[/ QUOTE ] That post is absent of any semblance of logic. Alt, do you ever get tired of being so out of touch with reality?
  3. I agree completely about WP. Kat is a great option. Good damage and the extra defense from DA is nice.

I'm not sure of the Devs' rationale for this as it SEEMS to discourage teaming, which is contrary to anything they've ever done before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Enabling solo play against stuff you couldn't obtain without a team is not discouraging teaming.

If I have a character that can tackle a bunch of stuff solo, getting me to team just so I can pad out my missions isn't doing the happily teaming members of the game community any favors.

On the flip side, people who are teaming because that's why they're playing an MMO are not going to stop just because they can now pad a map solo.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree completely. If anything, it will help some teams out. You'll be getting teammates that are teaming because they want to, not because they are 'forced' to for extra mobs. For example, on my DM/SR Scrapper MunkiLord, I'm a horrible teammate. I am constantly two to three mobs ahead of the team just so I can fight larger mobs by myself and get that extra challenge. Now instead of recruiting me, they can get somebody that will actually work with the team. And I can do what I want in mission and not have to worry about annoying everybody(not that I was really that worried about it anyways). It's a win-win.

All that said, personally - my fastest soloing character is indeed a blaster.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, my fastest was a blaster too. Ice/EM in my case. I just took both the holds and bosses weren't a problem.

If you're not praising the game, your opinion doesn't count. Or so I've come to realize.

    Bull[WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS].

There is a world of difference between a well-reasoned argument against, or complaint with the game and the type of ranting that is common here, and has been displayed in this thread specifically.

Anyone not understanding that needs to seriously re-examine their understanding of social interactions.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, but everywhere else on this board when someone tries to disagree with the game they get told to [censored] off. It's not just pertaining to this thread but the forums in general.

[/ QUOTE ] That isn't true and you know it. You're a liar.

The CoH transactions' content wouldn't bother if it were another game, but one of CoH's big selling points (if not the biggest) is it's ability to customize your character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now only if you wanna pay 50 or 60 bucks more.

    [/ QUOTE ]What?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you want the full line of customization you'd need to buy every booster which would run you 60+ dollars.

[/ QUOTE ]So people are basically paying more than a boxed expansion for costume pieces we used to get for free? [censored] that.

[/ QUOTE ] We still get costume sets for free...

[/ QUOTE ] Unless of course you buy AE edition, and Mac edition, and GvE edition. You know, getting three packs for half price. But if you want to intentionally ignore those options in order to make your point appear better, who am I to stop you?
  9. You could always buy the Mac edition online for $20 dollars and get the cool stuff plus a month of game time. If you do it that way, the extras only cost $5.
  10. I agree. I like more options.
  11. I think the perfect solution is to do maintenance to whenever I'm not playing. Basically, Positron calls me and asks what time is good for me. That way everybody wins!

I disagree about Freakshow. It's been my experience that they run too much. They piss me off.

Council is pretty easy. Just corner pull and unload with Shadow Maul.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are no "corners" on a typical farm map, but you're right about the Freakshow. Without a taunt aura like RttC or AAO they run away like crazy :-/

[/ QUOTE ] Good point about the farm maps.

With the advent of Going Rogue I will finally have the chance to play a kheldian on villian side, the only problem is I have no heros. So, I'm thinking of making a katana/willpower scrapper but wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a fast leveling hero side build who's main purpose is to get me access to kheldian. Any suggestions?

I would like to play a blaster but I'm not sure how good for solo play they are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

First, has it been confirmed that we will be able to switch sides with the Epic ATs? I wouldn't be surprised either way.

For solo speed, a Scrapper or Blaster is definitely the way to go IMO.

As far as Scrappers go anything works great. The AT is pretty well balanced. That being said, Willpower is generally considered one of the easiest(if not the easiest) secondaries.

Blasters solo great. I would suggest Fire or Ice because of the superior ST damage. Paired with /elec or /EM you can do some amazing damage.

Part of that is 'Truth in Advertising'. If they include something that is not advertised, they could potentially sued for not disclosing all info of what is available as a bonus.

[/ QUOTE ] That doesn't even begin to make sense.

Frankly, I'd be willing to take my game here in America slowing down a bit (due to some more code fragment accumulation and things like that) if it'll give people down under the same prime play time I enjoy.

    [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't.

I always saw Shadowhunter and him as the warmup AVs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bobcat too. I warmed up on her just the other day. She was my first. What? She was the first AV I soloed, what did you think I meant? I did end up using a couple greens since her Spin got through just about every time (haven't softcapped AoE yet) and she got a few lucky shots past my softcapped melee defense.

Anyway, you guys inspired me. I'm on the path to more now. So far I've got Bobcat, Shadowhunter, and Hro'Dtohz. I did use greens against each of them, but I'm still new to it and I'd rather be safe than sorry. No temps or other insps though, for what that's worth. And Hro'Dtohz, not sure if he really counts since I went into it with the three pets the mission gave me, but they really only functioned to distract the ambushes lol.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I pulled Hro'Dtohz away from them, used the mobs for Soul Drain fodder... loser tped outta there spoiling my picture

Didn't someone post once about Nemesis and Hro' being mad that these scrappers keep showing up to solo them at the same time?

[/ QUOTE ] So about Hro'. He was one of the easier AVs for me, what do yall think of trying him and Nemesis at the same time?
  20. Yeah, my last post was nothing more than a bump. That's cool if nobody cares. Honestly, I feel I have a good build. Really the only thing I'm unsure of is the Patron pools.
  21. So I assume since no responses that means my build is perfect?

NOW THATS an answer. We all know it's probably wrong. But I have you in the pool, and I will notify the winner. Which, so long as you do not go over (Price is Right rules) will be you cuz you are the only person who submitted a date!
