BTW Dark Defenders are well known for taking out AV's because we have a good mix of lockdown, heal, debuff, and damage. I am not special, i just took the time to figure out how to do things.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, Dark Defenders are not known for taking down AV's, at least not solo. Also, a Dark Defender has very little lockdown capability vs. an AV unless you mean lockdown in a different sense than normal. Regardless, defeating an AV four times in 60 seconds implies an effective DPS far beyond what most AT's would normally be capable of when solo*, much less a Dark/Dark Defender.
*i tend to define solo as meaning without assistance from other players. Even with nukes and Shivans i have my doubts about a D3 defeating an AV four times in a minute without exploiting some sort of glitch. However, i am willing to witness this and concede error.
[/ QUOTE ] I must have missed that post. But until I see proof, I'll go ahead and say it is impossible to defeat an AV four times in a minute while solo. -
Well if Rise of the Phoenix isn't required, then I would definitely take Fiery Embrace instead. I think that will be much more useful.
-
More build up is always good idea. What are the build requirements?

I just used it on two even level(42) Council soldiers. Here is what the combat log said:
Your Thunder Strike deals 32.47 points of energy Damage to Darkwolf.
Your Thunder Strike deals 263.97 points of smashing Damage to Equinox Parasite.
You knocked Equinox Parasite from their feet with your Thunder Strike attack!
Your Thunder Strike deals 43.3 points of energy Damage to Equinox Parasite.
Equinox Parasite was my target and Darkwolf was next to him. I realize this is really testing, just a single example. But I think this is what you are looking for.
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering that Darkwolves have 25% resistance v. Energy and Equinox Parasites have 0% resistance v. Energy, this suggests that the primary and secondary targets take the same amount of energy damage from the attack and the primary target is the only one that takes the smashing damage.
How was your attack slotted and how much +dam were you being affected by (if you can recall)? Those numbers don't really match up with what City of Data is saying it should deal (re: almost equal amounts of energy and smashing damage).
[/ QUOTE ] Currently at level 42(My blaster's level) I have
96.6% Damage Base-156.34 Enhanced-307.29
I wasn't using anything like inspirations or Aim or Build Up. Just went for the attack as it's slotted.
It is slotted with:
37 Multi-Strike Dam/End
40 Multi-Strike Dam/End/Rech
37 Force Feedback Rech/End
35 Scirocco's Dervish Acc/Dam
33 Scirocco's Dervish Dam/Rech
32 Multi-Strike Dam/Rech
(not optimal slotting, but I had all six sitting around in my base) -

Plus in Mid's, even with the DoT, T-Strike shows more damage than FSC (I compared Brutes since they're the only ones with the sets).
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if Mid's shows it, but only your targeted opponent receives the full damage from Thunderstrike. The AoE, which hits other enemies near your target, only does a portion of the damage.
Hope this helps.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it does full damage to all targets. You're confusing it with Blaster and Dominator T-Strike. Brute and Stalker T-Strike is a 'true' AoE, and is weaker at ST damage than the Blaster version.
[/ QUOTE ] Oh wow, I had no idea. That is awesome news for my lowbie Stalker. My only thunderstrike experience so far is my blaster and dominator. I assumed it was the same for everybody. You know what they say when you assume... -

Any idea how much damage is actually dealt to the secondary targets? The City of Data entry seems to suggest that all targets within the area are damage fully, especially since the normal method for creating AoEs that deal more damage to the primary target than to secondary targets is to summon a pseudo-pet that delivers the second attack and Thunder Strike doesn't do that.
I've actually found that, for a number of the stranger powers in game, you can't actually trust the description of the power and simply have to trust the information presented by the in-game real numbers and City of Data (which actually lists summoned pseudo-pets).

What was this about Nemesis LTs? I wouldn't have bothered with them regardless of the massive rewards, their vegeance stacked annoys me.

Honestly? Great idea on multiple levels.
I was originally opposed to it. But after the whole Rikti Farms/Bubble Farms fiasco...
A Single player finds an exploit. He knows that if he spreads word of it, the Devs will shut it down. So instead of filling teams with noobs to farm the exploit, he instead solos it on an "8-man" team.
Noone else finds out about it. It doesn't hit broadcast, and the Exploit doesn't spill out into the general populace for the super-leveling BS we'd been seeing before.
Then the Devs datamine the people that use the feature almost exclusively and solo, play through their MA missions looking for exploits, and if they find them CLICK! Locked mission and nerfed character.
Awesome.
-Rachel-
[/ QUOTE ] Rachel, we are starting to agree on stuff too much. It's weird.
[/ QUOTE ]
I still want to know what an exploit is, other than the obvious bubbles. Are Nemesis LT's exploits?
[/ QUOTE ] I think without dev comment what is and isn't an exploit is often very subjective. The bubbles are obvious. I also felt that the Comm officers were obvious too. But not everybody agrees on that point. -
[ QUOTE ]
It would be nice for Super Reflexes to have some defenses combined, so the Scraper would be better defended at lower levels, and have the choice given for self rez for instance.
[/ QUOTE ] I don't like the idea of a self rez. I think a taunt aura would be better. -

I honestly don't care what this does to powerlevelling as long as it keeps genuine new players from getting sucked in like in a black hole. Let people farm all they want. They'll just buy my salvage for more.

I won't bash the AE then.
However, Farmdumb has become the worst server for this kind behavior.
[/ QUOTE ]
*yawn*
Do you have any idea how tiringly obnoxious it is to hear variations of "Freedumb" from the lesser servers for five years now? I just need to get that off my chest. Did everyone on this server whiz in your Wheaties or something? This is our home. Quit pooping on the front mat and calling it thoughtful diatribe.

You do realize that, just to prove to some players that he could, he solo'd AV Ghost Widow with a Claws/Invuln without temps, insps, or anything without dieing 3 times in a row. And it was verified.
[/ QUOTE ] Yes I do remember that. To be honest, I was just talking [censored] wanting one of them to come up with a dev created, non AE mission, that they think we couldn't handle. -

this better mean TF/SFs are startable solo.

So leave the minimums in place. That means I HAVE to set my diff level at 7 members of team before I can go start Manticore's TF by myself.
The label of "You must have 7 players on your team" still does the job of warning the newbie, and the newbie won't be running around with missions set for 7 teammates anyway.
C'mon, Castle... the min teammate mentality needs to go away. It's nothing but a nuisance.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree entirely. What newbie is going to set their teammates up to the level of soloing task forces? Then not read the team size requirement and just jump right in? Even if they do, and accidentally start a task force they can't handle, SO? So they fail! Oh noes! Lesson learned! Maybe they'll even show up on the scrapper board asking for help. Maybe they'll end up going back and creaming the thing with a better build, more experience and some key temp powers. How is this bad?
[/ QUOTE ] It's not bad.
Seriously, the devs need to allow us to solo this stuff. Why you ask? Because Castle and Back Alley Brawler can't make it to where we can't solo it. Because they are weak(I would challenge Posi too, but his woosiness is a given).
That's right. Castle, BaBs. Make it hard for us Scrappers. I'm calling you two out. But to be honest, I don't think yall can answer the challenge. Prove me wrong. I dare you.
Give us a dev created mission to solo spawned for eight on invincible that you think we can't do. I promise you we will do it. No temps, inspirations, or etc. Yall know the rules. Challenge us.
You know, if you have the balls(lol, yeah right). -
[ QUOTE ]
I believe you are mistaken. This is the reason why Scrappers must have Super Strength.
[/ QUOTE ] -
So would Neo be MA(customized animations)/SR?
-
If so you, I would love to see it. Not because I'll copy. I REFUSE to do that. But I will take some ideas from it. So one of yall, please post the build

An ITF with all scrappers could be rather interesting.. especially if they're high-end scrappers... you can essentually split up and chase mission objectives solo (or duo-ing).
[/ QUOTE ]
Given I have multiple scrappers that can essentially solo the ITF up to the AV's at the end of missions 3 & 4, I figure it would just be all around good times, not some sort of mind bending challenge
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it wasn't any sort of mind bending challenge. Nothing until the final mission Romulus seemed particularly difficult, and even that we started by just charging and seeing how it went (answer: not so well). We didn't even pause for buffs (a lot of us had Mystic Fortune). But it was fun to be on a pure scrapper lock team for over an hour straight.
[/ QUOTE ] Yeah that is pretty much how the all scrapper ITF I joined went. Everything was a breeze until the final encounter. Even then we only had one full team wipe. Almost had a second, but I managed to stay alive and finish off the last 10-15% of Rommie myself the first time(sorry, had to brag). It made up for me dying three times in the Nictus mission(which actually annoyed me a lot). After he went down the first time it was cake after that.
edit: Also, I'm down for an all scrapper whatever anytime my schedule allows. -

[ QUOTE ]
I am NOT optimistic about the market rates, because there's two sides to the supply and demand equation. Just as more valuable stuff will drop and get sold, so will more inf be earned, and people with more cash will pay more for stuff they absolutely want NAO... which in turn keeps the prices higher.
[/ QUOTE ] And as prices go up it will be easier and easier to make influence/infamy. -
[ QUOTE ]
I sometimes don't understand why people solo on a MMO like this game. I have done it and hated it. Soloing is boring for me..much more fun w/ a team even if the team sucks.
[/ QUOTE ] Just a matter of personal preference. I solo about 95% of the time. For me it's about setting my own pace and doing exactly what I want, when I want without having to take other people into consideration. Also, I get annoyed when you have one or more teammates on the team that insist over and over that we need to get a healer, or a kin, or a tank. So instead of getting myself in trouble by telling those people what I think, I take my toys and play by myself. I also find it is easier to challenge myself when I play solo.
