Sorry guys I could care less about the MA so this issue so far holds no interest for me.

Honestly all the vet badges show to me is how old your computer is. If you are near 60 month then seriously find a new game.
There are far too many good games in this world to spend 5 years playing the same one. Especially one that hasn't aged that well.
I love this game don't get me wrong, but it's not good enough to be played (i.e. paid for) 5 years straight.

How would a vet badge in any way be relevant to the age of a computer? -

i would love to discuss, but there's no new info I can talk about!

Side switching in the future?
Brian Clayton: We're going to be doing more and more in-depth focus groups and research, and things like that, going forward, so eventually I think this is going to become more noise for the community than it is groundbreaking news! But what I can say is that having players go from hero to villain, and villain to hero, would nicely tie together what we've already done to date with City of Heroes and City of Villains. We certainly like the concept and the idea, but we're just not ready to talk about the details yet.

Am I the only person who looks at these two game resources and thinks ... "Finally, I'll be able to play my character as a Hero *AND* as a Villain!"

He's eluding to COX2. The marketing surveys aren't asking about COX1. Or did everyone forget NCSoft bought the franchise to develop a PC-friendly console game for PS3/X-Box? COX1 can't compete on that front.

... or he could be talking about this game. -
I too learned a lot. I can see now why full customization would be so difficult. Maybe not as much difficult but time consuming and resource devouring.

Thanks NCsoft. I always enjoy knowing when someone else is getting more bang for their subscription dollars than I am.
While we're at it, are there any more "perks" you care to announce that 99.9% of your paying customers will not have access to?
Perhaps a new special power pool for everyone whose middle name starts with a "P" and whose birthday falls on August 14th?
That way, whenever they see someone else with the power in-game, they can think to themselves "oh-yeah, he's cool like I am".
What, have you guys been reading "How to rid yourself of unwanted subscribers" again?
[/ QUOTE ]
This is exactly how I feel. You can argue all day long with whether or not it is justified, but in the end its how the customer feels that determines how a dollar is spent. Obviously not saying that there will be a mass exodus due to this, but eventually the straws add up to the camel so to speak. -

I'm on the this is unfair to non-west coast people bandwagon. Great for people in that area, shaft for anyone who is not. Using developer time to add content (however non-game changing it is) that players are not on equal footing to obtain is a real PO factor for subscribers. Something NCNC might want to think about.

This is a permenant version of the temporary power you can earn during the Halloween event. It simply changes your appearance into that of the PPD Hardsuit.
It is not a set of player costume pieces and it required very very little time to create as the PPD Hardsuit was already made and the power to change you into it was already made for the Halloween event.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wondered that after I posted. I will look forward to being able to obtain it in the near future then...
**EDIT**
Forgot the obligatory and my first "First after a Redname" -

I would prefer similar appearing costume parts that I can use on my characters and set the colors on, myself. But I do understand a lot of folks have been wanting this and other of the halloween temp costumes. Be patient, as soon as they get enough people jumping up and down and offering to throw money at them they will toss 2 or 3 of them into a 9.99 pack for you.

or they could offer it simultaneously and make thousands of dollars -

I think it's pretty crappy that they're giving out a permanent in-game item that everyone isn't reasonably able to get.

Read my lips: its a marketing hook.
Its a great way to bridge awareness of the game in non-gaming communities - plus it is a cool incentive to offer potential new subcribers that've never played the game before. I mean, hey - look how much you guys are going gaga all over it. If its making you druel, just think how well it'll work to snag new subscribers.
So yeah, I agree with the Marketing gimmick - however, I think its a bad idea to advertise this on the front page. Yeah it raises visibility of the event for a select few that are willing and/or able to go, but it alienates the larger population who have been wanting this costume option for their toons for years.
Hey ho, life goes on. Come back at Halloween and be pleasantly suprised at what you earn from trick-or-treating (at least that's my guess).

Yeah hook those new subscribers good call! Meanwhile take someone who has been paying for over 4 years and tell them they have no recourse to obtain something they want. Marketing at its best!! -

What would you all think of a scaling name release system?
For instance:
[*]1 Year Inactive: Level 12[*]2 Years Inactive: Level 24[*]3 Years Inactive: Level 36[*]4 Years Inactive: Level 48 (or 50)
50s could remain untouchable, or they could be included. Nobody's coming back after four years inactive.
So, what say the masses?
[/ QUOTE ]
I like this idea. Although I think after 3 years it should not have a level component. I seriously doubt someone is coming back after 3 years either. -
This news is so wonderful I will make up a word to describe it, and I will do so right now...... Scrumtrulescent!!!!!!

I wonder if they'll reconsider their stance on this finally since Champions is slated to have it.

remember though, Jack Emmert said it would be in the game. I seem to recall a game where that dude said a bunch of stuff would happen and it didn't. Still waiting for Skills..... -
WIth the title of the post I was really expecting a X number of people walk into a bar joke. Those never get old!! Of course neither does the bar.... hic

I was really hoping for some shorter wider blades. Maybe some daggers, or shortsword type. Do we really need 2 long swords when there are already 2 in the game? I dont really see how these long slender blades fit with my concept of a tank or brute. If the dual blades are as they look in these screen shots for all ATs I would give them an F. Just for scrappers/stalkers maybe a C. But se la vi, its not my game I just play it. Just saying that this really dampens my excitement for I11. On the other hand I am very excited for Willpower armor.
