The issue is that when I am in-game running around, fighting, etc. I seem to have my CPU running at anywhere between 50 and 70 percent. Never passing 70. Until I click on the Contacts. It consistently spikes my CPU usage up to 95-100%. Frame rate becomes 2-3 fps, network spikes and lots of red lines in the netgraph. I don't know what is causing this.
My computer is a new laptop, N61J, with i5 - 430M processory, Nvidia GT 325M 1GB video card, 4 GB RAM. I am not running any other programs. My computer performance is exquisite on anything and even on City of Heroes until that issues occurs. I have tested it several times and the same results. It does not matter if I have the Ultra settings on or the Minimum settings.
To recap:
before contacts tab - 50-60 FPS, 70% max CPU usage.
after i hit contacts tab - 2-3 FPS, 100% CPU usage.
Then it stays like that until I exit CoH and when i restart it is back to the "before" usage.
I don't understand. Can anyone help me fix this or explain this to me? I am an amateur when it comes to understanding this stuff.
