I'm a glutton for punishment. I enjoy arguing my stance, and I can't stand when someone twists my words without even the decency to quote where the words came from, even if the quote is out of context.

    Pot meet Kettle.

    Truly priceless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I do believe this is what Not_Rhino did to _Laxx_.
  2. It must have been how you worded it, as I still read it as you equating blackmail and extortion to creating a "homage" character (read- obvious rip off). And since your main argument has been that the latter is "okay", thus the former must be as well (a=c, b=c, therefor a=b).

After re-reading it, I can see how you compared reporting someone with a "homage" character (read- obvious rip off) to extortion and blackmail.

While I take back my previous statement regarding your claims, I maintain that I would much rather keep my Moral Justification over yours.

    ...

The title to this thread is uninformative and encourages me to respond to it, as opposed to your actual question. I would suggest changing it to something more informative.

However, in answer to your question: No.
  4. Moral Justification. I like that phrase. Coming from an individual who claims that blackmail and extortion are not things to be reported to the authorities, I will gladly keep my own Moral Justification over yours, if you don't mind.

Get to 50 in AE as fast as you can, and then look for a "Master of Statesman Task Force". If anyone asks if you're new, tell them no, it's an alt account and you're a 60 month veteran on your primary account who has successfully led and completed the MOSTF at least 20 times. Trust me, there's no better way for a newb to learn the game than to run a MOSTF with a bunch of veteran players. Feel free to ask newbie questions while running it, and don't worry about dying, nobody will be upset if you do, since you're a newbie after all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For the obtuse (or very trusting), this is not to be taken seriously, and is most likely satire.
  6. I personally disagree. Just because a person enjoys it doesn't make it scummy, or wrong, especially in the correct context (people who know better, but break the rules anyway).

I feel bad when I stop a child from shoplifting, when it's fairly obvious they're young enough to not know better.

I don't feel bad when the child is fairly obvious in knowingly breaking a rule by shoplifting (even something small and 'harmless').

But please don't profess to know that people are doing it solely because they like making kids cry or unhappy. Because you would be wrong. And especially don't declare that the thread is "filled" with those types of people, when all postings indicate the opposite.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
And yes, there is a pretentious attitude, that whole, "if you aren't reporting people, SHAME on you" attitude that seems to have permeated this thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I must have missed those people. Which ones were they? The closest I saw were people stating they do it because it's the right thing to do.

For everything else I assume there is some reason they cannot go by Combat level, but i couldn't tell you what that reason is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because if they went by Combat Level, Side Kicking and Exemplaring would be recognized. As near as I can tell, the system doesn't differenciate between those 'artificial levels' and the ones you get by leveling and not training.

  11. In the Badges Tab, look for the drop down menu and click the Veteran badges. That will include all the Veteran Badges and Rewards. That's where you can pick the Sands of Mu power.
  12. I just wanted to make sure I got what you were saying before I went fiddling with my binds. It took me a long time to get my WS binds set up to my mouse, and I don't take fiddling with them lightly!

I'll see if I can take my level 26 WS out against some Tsoo and see if I can find some results. Should provide entertainment for the whole family. Tickets on sale now at an arena near you.
  13. Really? So when (for example) I would hit mouse4 (my Dwarf bind button), if I had it set up to activate a specific power tray slot instead of having it activate the power by name, being Mezzed in the middle of the animation won't cause it to crap out and stop the change into Dwarf Form?

If that's what you're saying, then I may have to investigate this.

    Gravity (Again)

Who wouldn't like the Reverse Gravity idea? It fits so well with Gravity's power set, it's like it BELONGS there. The Immobs don't affect Knockback / down / up, and the set is lacking soft control early on (it's soft control was replaced with an attack), AND it has a very nice positioning power to maintain maximum use through Wormhole (seriously, drop the Reverse Gravity Field, Wormhole the spawn into it, Immobilize them there, and ta da! Locked down, stunned, knocked on their backs with Containment).
  15. The problem exists because the form change's Mez Protection is delayed, so we can be interrupted by Mez (since Mez's effects prevent the turning on of toggles).

It would be nice if it were changed so this didn't affect us, and while I have died to it before, it is something that can be worked with. Personally, I'd use Binds for the Form Changings, and a Macro for the power tray shifting, if you are set on using Macros. (I never liked Macro's myself, always thought they looked ugly)

The point being, that instead of having only ONE way to deal with the intangibility

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why doesn't the options you mentioned for your suggested idea not work here? You can wait for the NPCs to stop being intangible (just as you can wait for the person forcing us to wait to run out) or you can kick the offender (just as it works for your idea). Additionally, you have the other options of fighting other NPCs that are not currently Intangible, something your suggested idea doesn't help with.

I did think of offensive abilities for idea, but I don't think it's "unique" qualities out weigh the fact that someone else is controlling the tangibility of my characters in PvE.

I'll admit, I'm a bit of a hard sell for Intangibility powers, as I find the effect quite annoying in all forms, avoiding it when possible. I can promise you though, that if I see a use for it that goes above and beyond all current uses for it, I'll be the first one voicing desire for it.

Keep working on it though, your second idea is one I love, and I do like where you're thinking.

    Gravity (Again)

    [ QUOTE ]
Rather than Dimension Shift being a Foe Intangible power ... make it an Ally Intangible toggle power with a LARGE PBAoE radius.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very bad idea in the making. Making NPCs unable to be defeated is bad enough, but making it so, as an Ally, I can't defeat ANY NPC or enemy? That's a bad, bad idea right there.

    [ QUOTE ]
Redesign the Dimension Shift power to function like a "super knockUP" (as opposed to knockDOWN or knockBACK) version of Ice Slick (Ice Control).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This one is better, and something I like. I don't see them changing it, but it's a great power idea that I would enjoy. Even if it did no damage, and simply was a location based knockup effect, it would be a good power for a new set.
  18. Personally, I like my WS for my farming Blue Side. Capped Resists, nearly Capped Damage (so close in Nova Form), and two fast recharging AoEs as well as an "Empty to Full" self heal I can use twice in a fight.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
But Gravity's hold and single target immob grant KB protection.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No it doesn't. Gravity's AoE Hold and Single Target Hold grant KB Protection. The Immobilizes (Both Single Target and AoE) do not.

    Co-Op Zones

I like the idea of Co-Op. I like it a lot, really. But sadly, the developers have placed the arbitrary limit of level 35 for consistent Co-Op teaming. Chimerora and the RWZ both require level 35 to enter, and thus team with enemies.

Pocket D is a 'special case', as the missions there are seasonal, and teaming there provides no benefit otherwise. Of course, I would be completely sedated on the topic if they introduced the AE to Pocket D, but that's just me.

I can, for the most part see the reasoning for limiting it by level. Level 35 is when the truly "World Threatening" kind of things happen. Things that would defeat and destroy both Heroes and Villains equally, so teaming up would be required. Before then, it's mostly "small time" stuff.

I'm not a fan of using current Hazard Zones as revamped Co-Op zones, unless there is a really, really good reason to do so. After all, the Rikti trying to destroy us seems to be a good enough reason, but the feud between the Skulls and the Hellions? The Igneus (sp?)? Or the decaying ruins of some buildings already overrun by criminals? None of those really strike me as something to bring Good and Evil together against a common foe.

  24. I'm glad you love your Warshade.

I too love mine very much, and despite getting a Peacebringer to level 36, I can't seem to enjoy playing it. But I can enjoy my Warshade enough to roll a second one (and this one is Human / Dwarf only, for kicks) and play the first one over and over again.
