Quote:Last run I was on the tank-y types pulled the Rikti in while the squishier among us killed pylons. I also wouldn't call the pylons effective anchors, they're too far out to be useful for debuff toggles.1. Kin and Dark can use the pylons as anchors for their powers. You'll really appreciate a Dark who can teleport you to a pylon after accidental Hami agro and rez you there.
2. Taking out Mitos is *a lot* easier if you do so after dragging Rikti into the goo and have them take all the Mito agro. If you take out pylons first, you're going to lose that opportunity. -
I would definitely sign a petition to have this former mayor honored.

He got a job in television. You can see him Monday nights at 10:00 on ABC.

The debutante mission is one I always drop now. Escorting in general sucks, three escorts in one mission is just plain horrible. Couple that with each of them being guarded by a very annoying Master Illusionist. Granted, running it a few times was good for topping off my Illusionist badge, but from now on those three airheads are on their own.

I had a few chuckles reading broadcasts in Atlas Park from people complaining that 'no one was playing.' It is true that there were very few people playing the 'stand around in Atlas Park' mini-game.

Don't worry, I'm sure it will be toned down enough to be as ineffective as other controller powers in pvp.

From the comments on my earlier post, it seems like Thursdays would be a good night to have a try at on open pvp event for the server.
Siren's Call will be the site for this week's event. The 'hot spots' on the map make this zone an easy one to see where the action is and it has a pretty low minimum security level. "Official" start time for this event will be 8:00 pm Eastern. See the rules below for why I put the word official in quotes.
Rules
1. There aren't any real rules. This isn't an attempt to start organized pvp, but an attempt to have some specifically DISorganized pvp for a bit.
2. The Official start time is more of a suggestion. Players are free to come early or late and to come and go as they please. There is no official end time. As long as people are still in the zone and wanting to keep going they can.
3. Players are free to team up or not as they please. I suspect most involved will want to team up to some extent.
4. Victory Brawl is a chat channel for this event's discussion. I wouldn't advise using it to coordinate your side's actions since it'll be an open channel.
5. In the event that there is a severe imbalance between the numbers on each side I would ask (not require) that players able to do so switch characters to support the underdog side.
6. This is intended as a fun and informal event. Don't expect the others on your side to have pvp builds (or even pvp skills). 'Real' pvpers are certainly welcome and may feel free to give advice, but this event should be kept light hearted. -
I'd been away from the game for quite a while until recently, so feel free to slap me upside the head and tell me that this idea is already in effect or that's it's been tried in the past without success.
Usually when I venture into a pvp zone (to get a shivan or nuke usually) I almost never see another player. I know from the forums that there is some structured pvp going on (PvP University), but I think it would be fun to have some time (say Wednesday evenings just as an example) set for 'open' pvp where anyone interested would just come to a zone selected for that week for an unstructured hero/villain (and completely non-serious) brawl. This would be mostly for fun, but it would allow a chance at getting pvp and zone related badges.
I know some days are already sort of designated for regular events (i.e. Sunday RWZ raids) so I'm looking for feedback mostly on 1) if there is any interest and 2) what time would be best to avoid conflict with other planned activities. Other than picking a time range (with people free to come and go within it) and a zone designated for that week this would be completely informal with players free to form their own groups or solo without any sort of central command structure.
PS I realize that faction imbalance could be a problem, but we can burn that bridge when we come to it. -
If you go to a place that tends to have a few players around (usually an AH) and say in local "Could someone please open a portal to Ouroborous?" chances are pretty good that someone will drop one. I've never seen anybody ask without at least one person opening a portal for them (and sometimes three or four of them appear.)

I don't have this power in games, so I can't check what it says there, but paragonwiki lists the following allowable sets for Night Fall:
Targeted AoE Damage
ToHit Debuff
Accurate ToHit Debuff
If this is correct Adjusted Targeting won't work (and it wouldn't make sense for this power to take ToHit Buff sets since it doesn't have a ToHit Buff effect), but Dampened Spirits SHOULD work. -
Quote:Much of what we learn about the Coming Storm (tm)* indicates that it's a genuine alien (not an alternate earth) invasion and that the shivan meteorites are at least a part of it. This doesn't rule out Nemesis' involvement, but Hro'Dtohz is unlikely to be able to pull off a full blown invasion after the events of the various RWZ arcs. After researching, I think I have an answer to what the Coming Storm might be... Though it's all speculation...
***Major Spoiler Warning***
Hro'Dtohz claims that through his failure in the first two Rikti wars, and to save himself the embarrassment of revealing the truth about how the first two wars started to his troops and homeworld, he would rather "bring enough troops across to wipe out everything on this Earth: he is going to bring over the entire Rikti military from the Homeworld" as quoted from the Wiki. Well, after researching somemore... Mender Lazarus accidentally refers to the Coming Storm as an Invasion, before correcting himself.
But the single most important link...
"Mender Silos mentions that his past self was somehow involved in the end of the world, which spiraled into the end of the entire Universe."
Mender Silos WAS Lord Nemesis. Lord Nemesis started the Rikti Wars. Because of Lord Nemesis, Hro'Dtohz wants to wipe out Earth. The Coming Storm could very well be the final Rikti Invasion.
Just a thought...
*Coming Storm is a trademark of Ouroborus, Inc. -

Quote:I think you are probably thinking of a specific other mmo that is slated to go ftp around the time another specific mmo launches. That mmo going ftp is a simple act of desperation. It failed to 'kill' CoX and is in serious danger of dying completely when a competitor with a MUCH better known IP gets going.I just read that other mmos become free after a while when do you think this one will.
CoX isn't in that kind of danger. It has a strong and loyal player base (being one of those games that shows you don't have to have WoW level subscription numbers to be successful) and a very different play style (it isn't a console game at heart like the upcoming MMO).
As a side note about that other (already existing) game: I detected a strong scent of DOOOOOOM about it when it offered a lifetime subscription that was only available if purchased before launch. That sort of deal is a sure sign that a company doesn't expect to get much money from you unless they get it up front. -
I believe that now you have to actually talk to him before fighting him as part of the mission. Though you shouldn't have connected with the 37 try either if that's the case.

The mission comes from a villain tip called "Guilt-Stricken Trail of Blood."

Eh, maybe it's just in honor of the Marcus Cole who gave his life to save Susan Ivavova.

Candy Cane's seem to drop (randomly) from any Winter Horde (Snowman) mobs that con high enough. The Lady Winter and Snaptooth quests from Father Time also offer 5 candy canes as one of the completion award choices.

How is it a memorial for a man who is still alive and probably immortal? Did Emperor Cole actually have something named for a Cole who isn't himself?

Okay, the in game alignment help says that if a Supergroup leader fully changes alignment he/she will remain in the group but will be demoted from the leadership position. My question is: What if the leader is the only member of the group?

Zoning also seems to (occasionaly) remove the upgrades from pets. And, of course, they still sometimes get trapped by in-mission elevators.
