I wouldn't call that unfortunate. I'd prefer the griefer types not have a trick for increasing server load.

Lady Grey lives in that cul-de-sac.

Quote:On targets: There's at least one boss in a villain tip mission (I don't remember the name of the mission or the boss) that has a placate power making them impossible to target temporarily. There may be others.Theres a few things I swear are bugs, but maybe its just me. Has anyone noticed before:
Targetting: Im targeting the boss, pull off one of my super duper moves, and all of a sudden the target is on a minion or something (no the same boss isnt dead)
Inspiration lag: Seems like forever for a inspiration to be used, enough time to die
Power recharge: Sometimes with no rec debuffs (I monitor recharge) my powers are frozen, not recharging at all, with the exception of maybe one or two
Are there any others I might be missing? Is it just in my head? The last one I havent noticed in a few day it might have been fixed?
Inspiration: Make sure you don't have powers queued up to fire off. Inspirations can not be used during a power's animation and a queued up power will take priority over inspiration use. (This one sometimes gets me killed.)
Power Recharge: I got nuthin' for ya on that one. -

Quote:Desdemona (the demon summoning girl) does not appear in any praetorian related content to the best of my knowledge. She and Maelstrom were the poster kids for Going Rogue, but neither is a native of Praetoria. Maelstrom shows up fairly often there though. Getting the full picture of what's going on really takes all the major arcs.7) Lore about Praetoria... I may have leveled too fast but it seems like I only got pieces of the Praetoria storyline. (Not asking for spoilers) I encountered Maelstorm just once and haven't seen the Demon Summoning girl. Did I miss arcs or are their stories more fleshed out?

Use your inspirations. More of them will drop quickly. I still have to fight the tendency in myself to hoard consumables since other online games had taught me that potions/scrolls/etc could be expensive or difficult to replace. In CoH they drop frequently and can be cheaply purchased (at least the low level ones) from various NPCs.

Tier 1 Pets: Kermit, Fozzy, and Miss Piggy. Missy Piggy becomes available at 18 and has a special 'Hi-yahh!' attack.
Tier 2: Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker. With the final upgrade Dr. H gets a special buff that can only be cast on Beaker, causing him to run into the nearest enemy and explode.
Tier 3: Gonzo. He is a mini-mastermind himself and summons chickens as his pets.
Their is also a power similar to Gang War that summons Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem for a short duration. -
Zwillinger confirms Muppets as a new mastermind primary for Issue 22. Everyone spread the word!

Quote:I may have missed something but what is the evidence that the Battalion and Shiva are related? You might recall that the two times that Primal Earth stopped the Rikti from destroying the planet, we had to proactively prevent the Rikti's main battle forces from coming into the fight. Primal Earth doesn't actually have the power to destroy the Rikti military machine. EDIT: Then again, this at most puts us on the same level as the Battalion; however, I don't see anyone on Earth using planet-devouring, meteor-born space goo as scouts.* There's a good chance the Battalion is still quite powerful.
*Except Dr. Aeon. -
Quote:This quote from the Hro'Dtohz file is, I believe, the only in game reference to the Battalion:The Battalion have been described as a threat even greater than Tyrant and the loyalists - and since the new Underground Trial introduces the first level shifted enemies - 54+1 Goliath War Walkers, it's quite possible the Battalion could be entirely level shifted, requiring the Incarnate system powers to defeat them - so that old news might still be quite up-to-date, but tweaked slightly
Quote:After the initial wars to unify the planet thousands of years ago, the Lineage of War was very small, only rising to prominence during a very few infrequent civil wars and insurrections. Their last big operation was against an alien force called the Battalion about 100 years ago. Since then, their power had been tapering off to its normal ceremonial levels until the start of the war with Earth.
The following quote is from B'Nadek (aka Ben Decker):
Quote:They thought Change: Improvement. They all undergo: Change during Gestation/Exo-womb. They think it's a way to lift a man: up, just like some aliens did to them thousands of years ago.
PS The last three words in the full quote from B'Nadek are 'Cage a Man.' That is the title of the first novel in F.M. Busby's series about the Demu, a race of aliens who surgically alter other intelligent races to appear more Demu-like on the grounds that only Demu are truly intelligent. The alterations are intended as a benevolent act (though Humans and others see things differently.) -
It's also true that bosses have a MUCH higher chance to drop shards than minions and LTs, so street sweeping in RWZ or RV may get shards faster than missions. RV is particularly nice since each of the four turrets on a pillbox is a boss and you can bring along a slowbot to help.
Edit: 100 posts at last. -
I'm placing my bet on the LW being:
The Center
1) He's the leader of a major organization (the council) but his goals are never made clear.
2) He's been gathering super-powered individuals (all the former 5th Column AVs), but has yet to really use them for any big plans.
3) He's willing to use heroes to keep his own underlings in check. In a hero alignment mission he tips you off to Requiems plans to plant a dark seed and then thanks you at the end (over the radio) for helping out. His dialogue in this bit has a similar feel to the LW's style.
4) We don't know what his powers are, just that they are non-combat (according to Viridian.) Maybe he's a time traveler.
5) He's a hard man to see. His only (physical) appearance in game is the Viridian arc.
6) Yes, I know the Mender Lazarus arc is a strong argument against it being the Center, but there are equally good arguments against the other contenders.
As a side note, I don't think we can rule out a female writer. Dean McArthur says a man gave him the letter, but there's no reason to think that the delivery wasn't made by an underling. This make's my second choice a possibility: Miss Francine. You think she's just gathering all those Freaks together for reading lessons? -
The Rikti hit lots of major cities at the same time. Pretty much any city important enough to be 'in the running' as UN headquarters probably got attacked.

Quote:Google also brings up much different results on "$8 for tail."Nutria were imported to the United States from South America, people wanted to raise them for their fur since the mate faster and grow faster then beaver. That didn't work out so people just released them into where they prospered and multiplied.
There's actually a $8 per tail bounty for these guys in Oregon and Louisiana. -
What if Ghost Praetorian Recluse is the 'Letter Writer'?

Since the PR materials indicate that the deceased will be at least one (I'm pretty sure nothing has been said that indicates that it's ONLY one) of the 'Surviving Eight,' here are my thoughts on which may be getting it:
Babs: The most likely to get the big rewrite, imo. He's the only one of the eight that isn't a TF contact and his home zone (Galaxy City) is being completely redone.
Statesman: If the devs go for maximum impact he's a strong possibility. But an awful lot of existing content would have be be changed if he's a goner.
Citadel: A strong contender. His being a machine makes it relatively easy for him to have a 'comic book death' since a year down the road a backup of his personality could be discovered and dumped into a shiny new body. He would also be easy to replace in game as a new version of the same bot with the same personality but lacking all the memories.
Sister P and Manticore: Killing one of these off could be a strong story since it would allow the other to be driven toward a darker nature. Sissy's the more likely of the two to go since her mind riding ability would make bringing her back in the future fairly easy.
Synapse: Not very likely, but for some reason (nothing logical I can back up) he seems to me to be the one most likely to turn out to have been a Nemesis automaton.
Positron: I just can't see a good story purpose in killing him off.
Numina: Least likely since she's dead already unless the devs want to make a big deal about the big bad being a soul destroyer. -
Quote:This is what I usually do. Also the Numina's Convalescence: Regeneration/Recovery and Miracle: Recovery can be slotted into Health for a sizeable recovery increase.Quick note, you can 4 slot stamina with 3 end mod io's and a perf shifter +end
This ED caps stamina but also adds the perf global +end proc bonus.
(And as it is a proc it is unaffected by ED so you still gain the additional end bonus.)
If you're running endurance hogging toggles you'll still need to slot those for some endurance reduction. Prior to 20.5 I would have recommended at least one extra endurance reducer in the equipment powers, but as they had their costs greatly decreased you probably can get by fine with just the one slot in them. -
Quote:He should go into politics. If so then he deserves strong praise for staying in character so consistently and for such a long time. Even more so since he's done it in such a wide range of subject matter. He's like the exact opposite of a polymath. He can be bafflingly wrong and misinformed while utterly convinced of his superior expertise in a mind-bogglingly diverse array of topics.
