  1. UGT may be a longer trial, but it now guarantees either the rare or very rare reward tables on completion. IMO that makes it worth the extra time involved. Keyes got nerfed hard with the last patch, so it's not so long now. And there are two more trials known to be coming soonish.

I did not! I told Wade to do it himself. Besides, she probably already hates "me" for beating up her daughter in the LRSF.

PS We don't really know that Wade is the mastermind behind everything. He talks like it's all his plan, but that could be a red herring. Or maybe he thinks he's running things but Malaise was just playing along with him under orders from his real boss.

  4. I'd put it down to whichever feels right to you since the game impact of origins is minimal. Personally I'd rate most brains in jars as tech in origin. But then the game's most prominent brain in a jar is the Clockwork King, who is likely mutation in origin. Though he's so nuts that he probably thinks that his body and his minions are technological in origin.

Edit: Ugh, did I really end three sentences in a row with the word 'origin?' Blast! That made four.

Except that the villain arc (which gives a a lot more clues as to what's really going on) has <name redacted> killing Miss Liberty AFTER the fairly small amount of blood has been taken. S/he then kills her (or lets you do it) with the stated purpose of driving a wedge between Manticore and the rest of the Freedom Phalanx.

Note: The fact that Statesman doesn't have any living male relatives makes Alexis Cole-Duncan the only viable option the baddies have for their plot. And there are examples in game of villains kidnapping male characters in order to upset female heros. Mother Mayhem's arc has you kidnap Wu Yin in order to get Vaness DeVore out in the open. A similar arc in Sharkhead (I think) has you kidnap Iron Billy just to get closer to the Sea Witch.

In order to conflict there has to be the same amount of people affected on a NA server then there are on the EU server, so if 10 from the EU had the same global as 10 on the NA they would conflict. Confliction affects either servers at the time equally, it's impossible for any side to be affected more or less, regardless of size of population.

So that answer did nothing to satisfy me, which is why I wrote a ticket and got no reply, which now I can't blame them for, if that was the best answer they could come up with and post.
Since no one really knew whether or not they'd be hit by the change there were more players on the NA side to be upset by the POTENTIAL of getting changed. Chances are they made the decision based on the complaints they were likely to get before the change went into effect. Again, if I'd been one of the Euro players hit by the change I would have been upset. But it would have been a fairly straightforward decision to give themselves less headaches from people concerned about the change before it happened.

They did indeed explain what was happening and why in a FAQ:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=255268

    Here's the relevant section:

What will happen if my European account name is the same as someone else’s in North America?

We wanted to keep this process as simple and manageable as possible to allow European and North American accounts to access all City of Heroes servers. All European accounts with a name conflicting with a North American account will be prepended with an “EU”. For instance, let’s take a hypothetical European account called “Cityof”. Pre-pended with “EU” would make it “EUCityof”. That is the only change to account names in that respect. We determined that this was the lowest number of users that would be affected by this account name change. North American accounts with conflicting names won’t be affected by this change.

What about global handle in game? Will those be affected by name collisions?

Yes indeed. All European players with a global chat handle name collision will have their global handle changed to the name of the last character they log out with before Global Server Access is enabled. If the global handle still has a collision after the initial change, letters will continue to be dropped from the end of the name until no collision is present.

The European players that are affected by the chat handle collision will receive a global name change. This name change will only be offered to the players affected by the automatic name change.

Please note that character names will not be affected. We are merely unifying both server lists and as such, all characters will remain on their original server.
I wouldn't have been too happy if I were an European player and lost my global during the merger, but when names were in conflict SOMEONE had to lose the name. Since there were accounts on the American side it was the European players that got the short end of the stick. It sucks for those that lost their globals, but it was unavoidable as part of the version merger.
  11. There appears to have been a bug that caused some characters to have their alignment confirmations reset with the patch that added the requirement. This affected one (and only one) of my characters. It was a villain MM who had already earned many villain merits through the tip system and did have the Frenzy power. After running tip missions again I was only given the 50 merits for first time confirmation instead of a villain merit. I was then able to run the SSA and get a villain merit as normal (subsequent morality missions also gave the appropriate villain merit.)
  12. Anyone else thinking the OP probably filed a ticket on something that's WAI and is just mad they won't change it for him?

Not failed that mission yet, and I've been through it a dozen times at least over the years.

If all you're doing is waiting for the runners, then the mission will feel like it's never going to end, because the waves of runners are so spread out over time, and there are a lot of spawns on that map. However, I have done the mission just through the application of patience and waiting for runners... it took a while.
It may be the case that the static spawns will start running as well, but new ones will spawn during the mission and head straight for the portal. If you're soloing and have decent damage it's much faster just to clear the map.

The problem with that mission is that the stated objective isn't really accurate. The real objective to defeat all the static spawn Fir Bolg on the map before 50 of the timed spawned ones get away. You can kill the ones actually trying to escape all day long and never get the mission finished.

My remark that Maria Jenkins was "practically mandatory" was mostly in reference to her missions as being important for the Portal Jockey Accolade. The same goes for Tina McIntyre. They both have the Praetors you need for Dimensional Warder (not all of whom are available in TF's and trials), but each has an exploration badge needed for the accolade in their non-arc missions. I have not played either arc since the rework so I can't comment on the actual quality of the arcs.
  16. Paragonwiki has a nice table of the arcs by level here http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Hero_Mer...ashback_System.

The Croatoa arcs are all in the 25-34 range, so you might want to try those if you finish up first ward early enough.

My personal thoughts on which arcs are better (story-wise) are (excluding Croatoa):

    30-34

    The Rise of the Vampyri
    The Library of Souls
    Corporate Culture

    35-39

    A Path into Darkness
The Organ Grinders (though it's plot twists are largely revealed in the RWZ arcs)
    The Terra Conspiracy

    40-44

Tina McIntyre is close to mandatory (as said earier). Not just her arc either. She has a couple badge missions, one of which is need for the Portal Jockey accolade.
Melvin and the Mysterious Malta Group - Note that it is LONG and of course involves fighting Malta which can be a pain if you don't have a good way of dealing with the sappers.
The Eternal Nemesis - Again, a very long arc.

    45-50

Maria Jenkins is also practically mandatory including non-arc badge missions.
Operation: World Wide Red. This is another very long Malta arc that includes the well known Kronos ambush.

Also note that Ouroborous Initiation and many of the RWZ arcs can be done at a wide range of levels.

  21. I'm thinking of running for congress with abolishing Daylight Savings Time as my sole campaign issue.
  22. FYI, the preferred term is buttcapes.
  23. Stereotypical Jewish Mother Online : You don't advance your own character, you just tell your children how to level.
  24. Dora the Explorer - Has only three zones that must be passed through in a specific order with only one quest per zone.

<Name Redacted> - A superhero MMO that doesn't let you create your own character.
