Quote:Prfft! Winking generally signifies sexual intent or acknowledgement. Doesn't have much to do with Going Rogue or software engineers...i think it means don't worry. at least that is how i read it.
Unless i'm missing somthing?
But yes, GR, and by extension CoX will do just fine. And there's defiinately worse Devs out there than ours, presonally I think their doing a fine job -
Oh wow, Big Congratz!
How long before theres mini-Days I wonder? -
I quite regularly take breaks from the game, Most recent one was from last September til around March.
Even then only started playing consistently again over the last month and loving it once more!
Just take some time off, wait for the cravings to kick in and let the addiction consume you once more*
*Not suitable for rehabilitation clients -
Actually um... Can I have it, y'know... Tomorrow please?...
Ya see I start work on the 26th and I'd like a few days to play until my hearts content before i start working again... 7days a week at an Expo...
This way everyones happy... Well I am anyway ^_^ -
OMG This Guy is in the resistance too!! >.>

Just going to throw in my 2 pence
Recently as would be expected with the new expansion arriving next month, I've noticed alot of old faces coming back to the game, while this it inevitable due to the game being so damn moreish (IMO) I have aslo encountered lots of new < 3 month vets coming to the game. Inculding a good few long time WoW players (They say Blizzard ruined their game with the 3rd expansion and its set to get worse with No 4) And have come here mainly because they heard how good our community is!
Not to mention the server (Union) has at least felt busier over the last couple of weeks
I'd say things are ok at the moment and not to worry too much about it. -
Quote:I don't think we hate the English the most up here. I would probably say that is a certain faction of Weedgies that take that title.
and when the site of the last battle on British soil is on your doorstep why wouldn't you remember it? Or were you referring to the clearances which again comes under local history.
Mostly the clearances, and we kind of asked for it (in my understanding anyway it was the lowlanders that did most of the damage with a minimal English presence)... I've done work on the battlefield to artifically preserve the supposed natural "OMG NO REGEN look Wuht Teh EnGlIsh has dun!" However a conversation for a different topic...
I have worked in Glasgow and Paisley and never got any real stick for having an English accent, (I have a complicated upbringing... still a scot though) yes there was a bit of banter but none of it threatining like it has been in "Snecky"... Perhaps I just didn't encounter any of the extreeme haters
That said I will support ANY British team in any major competition -
1) Whats in a name? : I see your name is .... What is the story behind it? Where did you get it? What other names have you used in the past
Mr Mac was nowhere near my first character... I joined with Villains and added heroes a few months later, aaand thanks to a bit on confusion with adding codes to CoV I accidently ended up with two accounts... I couldn't get into the heroes ATs at first and eventually I created Mr Mac a INV/SS tanker thanks to Superman being my favourite comic book character.
The name is somthing my step dad called me quite often, and seeing as I made the character to look as much like me as I could it fit quite well.
2) Whats in a job? : Why do you play a race/class/occupation? Do you find you play that a lot? Do you like it or would you play others? Do you have other characters with other race/class/occupation
Mr Mac. is my Main toon, He's a tanker and if i'm ever bored or unsure who to play as, he's usually the one I log in as. I have at least one toon of every other AT out there, however I can't get into Defenders or Dominators but I do like Controllers and Corruptors...
Mac is the only Tank i've been able to stick with,
I'm probably a scrapper at heart.
3) Whats in a game?: What do you like about this game? What would you change or improve?
I Love this game, I've taken 2 or 3 6month (at least) breaks from it but it always draws me back. I've tried most MMOs and none of them do it for me... The only reason I play STO occasionaly is because I bought a liftime sub (thank GOD I couldn't afford a Champs Lifer at the time ^.^)
Not to mention that I actually HATE WoW, Perhaps it could just be the fantasy setting that I don't like...
4) Whats in a story?: Do you have any funny anecdotes from playing this game? What is the greatest adventure youve been on in here?
Greatest adventure... I've done alot in this game, I havn't done it all... yet! Not many people have... I always remember going through Faultline with Mac just after the revamp, that was some good times...
Or before making my move over to Union from Defiant my first toon, that I had no idea how to slot or choose powers for, was a NRG/KIN Corr who made it to 50 last year btw. I remember doing the first respec trial with him and the team planting again and again... wasn't until I thought "hmm ill work Transfusion into my attack chain" and all of a sudden all the melee toons were staying alive and we were taking town this tree rather quickly... hmm
Good times! Far too many for noting here
5) Whats in a friend?: Do you play alone or with a group? Are you a member of any guilds? What keeps you playing alone/groups? Do you have lots of friends in this world? Do you talk to them often?
I play with groups wherever I can. My RL frinds who played this (actually met him in game by accident)-Good story actually... I had just got heroes and I was playing around with a concept toon in Atlas when I saw West Ham Man standing under the globe... Intrigued as my friend is the biggest West Ham fan I know I called him and said, Uh (Name?) are you playing a game right now?
Friend: Yea...
Me: Are you standing under a Globe?
Friend (getting excited) Yea!
Me: Do you see (Character name)?
Friend: No way?!
Me: Yupp ^.^
Friend: OMG!!
And so fourth. The fact I had moved away about a year earlier and we didn't speak as much as we should have is the real gem behind the story... Did I mention he was also my best mate in school?
6) What got you into MMOs?
Was in HMV, bored, picked up CoV, looked at the character creator and thought what the hell... It took a week or two to get into it but I was there
7) What new MMO are you looking forward to?
I want to say DCUO buut realistically i'm really wanting SWTORO! SWG was shocking so this should be quite epic! -
Rob Green's Gloves...
Sponsored by Lurpack
That said, there has been a lot of aggro about this new ball. Remembering the only team not to have practiced with it before arriving in South Africa was England (no thanks to Umbro). And while that's no excuse it could very well be a factor.
I only say this as in the two opening games, all four teams seem to have issues controlling and keeping the ball down... Just an observation.
England now have somthing to prove, and i'm looking forward to seeing them play like they did in the first 15 mins and the last for the rest of the tournament... Hopefully...
And from a Scot, living in the North of Scotland, where the English are most hated, no thanks to old people, the shocking education system and an apparant remberance of somthing that apparantly happened over 300 years ago...
COME ON ENGLAND!!!! -
I'd definatly be interested in this! I'd happily plonk an alt or two into this Forumites SG!!
Where is this SG based though? Paragon, Rogue isles or Praetoria? Assuming it'll be Praetoria due to all the Shiney! (Are SGs going to work the same way there?)
Union Please! Buut I'd still do this on defiant although I doubt i'd spend nearly as much time there...
Don't care who leads it!
Don't care who does the base design!
All as long it's active and full of awesum! -
Like others have said, It's about the journey, not the destination.
Sure there are some that go about yelling they have 300 50s and if you don't have that many 50s your a n00b!! Well it's obvious these guys saw the AE last year and had a field day getting a new 50 every 8 hours...
I currently have 6 50s accros 2 accounts, and yes my goal is to have a 50 of each AT. But I want the power combinations to feel right and be fun for me to play. I've deleted hundereds of characters in this quest.
My advice is to carry on alting until you find a caracter that FEELs right... Weather it be power combinations, a costume, a concept or even just a really cool name... -
I need one for my phone...
one for my wallet
car keys
house keys
insulin
mouse
Ps3 headset
Tv Remote
Left shoe
toothbrush
right shoe...
my cat.....
put me down for 50!... Yea i'm forgetful! They come with different noises right? o.O -

Quoted from Damz's post earlier in this thread
Quote:This is the first time I have read such an explination for not releasing a box in the EUNext up: the box. This is a big issue and I know some of you are pretty cheesed about it. So here is the information I got (which shouldnt come as a surprise, really): because the game is online, and our consumers are predominantly online, it makes business sense to distribute online.
Quote:Most MMO gamers in the EU are very net savvy and comfortable purchasing/downloading online. QUOTE] QUOTE]
This is nothing more than Bull and PR flattery and to me implies the Americans are incapable of entering a few details and clicking ok otherwise why would they need a box?
From my experience most games retailers (employees/management) Weather due to ignorance/misinformation/poor taste in MMOs (if they play any at all...) all believe that CoX had closed its servers!
I have spent more time than I should have (the right amount being zero) explaining that it was alive and well with its second major expansion on it's way!
Quote:[/So NCsoft sells online because that is how more and more people are buying games, and we do get most of our new players from online distribution. There are boxes on the shelves in the U.S. because, from a distribution perspective, there is more demand herea much lower percentage of people in the US have broadband compared to the EU. (I didn't know that part.) Plus online distribution and production is much less complicated in the US, with only a single language version and a handful of major retailers and distributors, versus three languages and dozens of distributors in Europe. So there are no plans for a box on shelves in EU, but you will see Going Rogue available soon in a variety of digital stores across Europe.
However I have been finding it difficult to get people who actively express intrest in the game to sign up due to the lack of an available box on the shelves.
So while I firmly believe that the game will benefit greatly from an EU box release, or at least some games magazine/website advertising as was mentioned earlier in the thread (looking at EVE here! Can't open a games website without an add for it somwhere) I fully understand the real reasons why...
A better statement would have been.. "Due to poor projected sales figures in the EU we have decided not to release a box in european stores as you're not worth the financial risk. You can however still purchase a downloadable copy online."
Maybe not quite as direct as that, as i imagine it would cause some upset.
At least send the major retailers a memo... just a wee hello! Were not dead -
My DS/Therm MM got a DS/Therm... Quite the epic battle.
-
Wow, guess this means i'm a wippersnapper type then ^.^
18 when I started... 23 now
I've left sooo many times now too but it allways calls back to me.. -
um you mean Wednesday 23rd September right?
-
While I think its only fair if we forget meeting locally (ie Europe) and we should all head to LA or Mexico (forgetting about the dreaded H1N1 virus for a sec). Amsterdam works, I would be up for this providing the costs were kept pretty low. October or decembers good, Easter too.
(posting from my iPhone so apologies for any silly words I missed) -
yay for people getting to be people again!
As far as accents go I think mines rather odd, it's like Essex with a scottish twang so I've been told I quite often sound like an Aussie even though I've never been anywhere near the place :s
