That's one way I use nova when soloing.

That's rubbish in my opinion. People just get used to the stupidly easy missions then give up when they meet a challenge.

I have been playing with my rifle a fair bit recently because I enjoy playing a scrapper (my first one)

Does anyone else want to resurrect this? If nothing else, I could do with being promoted to leader so I can pay off the base rent at least before the sg is closed down

I got a level 9 fire/rad and yes you are right it does seem quite effective

I wouldnt use luminous det on a big spawn of un-damaged enemies but used correctly, it can finish off a lot of them and leave the rest on their backs.

Theres nothing cooler that knocking a load of enemies flying then casually finishing one of with your fricking laser beam eyes before smacking the boss in the face with a huge overhand double handed punch

it's a quick punch - not sure of the name of the super stregth animation it uses but it's a quick low punch to the middle of the body which causes flashing lights and a woosh! smack! noise.

flashing lights and the noises are the best reason to play a pb

A bug? You mean the 20 or so heroes who answered the call on broadcast and coalition chat was a bug?

luminous detonation IS great - it's aoe knockback and combined with radiant strike, solar flare and dwarf flare you can keep an entire spawn on it's back until they die

I proved this recently by soloing an 8 man spawn of +3 freaks on my own while the rest of the team took bets on whether or not I'd die.

so lets get some more interest this week.....

sleet is great - especially combined with snow storm and ice storm.

If there's no-one to take the alpha, then try and cast it from out of line of sight? Man I swear I don't see enough people using this trick... especially tankers who taunt to "pull" then stand there in plain sight while they get attacked at range.

I think its the same animation as thunderous blast from the electricity blaster powerset

I play a human form pb (although i have dwarf form for the occasions you mentioned and nova form for after build up and when theres a tank on the team)

I have hurdle, health, stamina and cj and I have set up a bind so that I switch between aj and energy flight with one button, and also when I de-toggle any forms, cj comes on automatically.

I can provide the binds if you like... but they're quite easy to work out.

I'm really just confirming that your plan is valid because it's how I play... I don;t have acro though and probably wont take it because it's a pain to retoggle unlike cj.

I think a fire tank is lacking... if you want to fill the gap

the hold defence is pretty low, true but the knockback protection is 100% which is always useful.

I'd only do it if you were full human otherwise you'll to re-toggle after switching forms.

You'll find that am helps you feel more powerful - I think it has a damage buff as well as endurance/recovery boost

I'm level 8, furnace is 12 I think - jacket and grilling machine are around the 10 mark

I think I will play with this character at other times, not just wednesdays because I've always wanted a fire/rad controller and I'm happy with the playstyle which is unusal because I generally cant truly tell if I like a playstyle until the 20's
